Title: Eway Aymay Eavelay Omesay Ehindbay inyay Aringshay 479
Post by: mini on February 16, 2013, 03:02:46 PM
It says "We May Leave Some Behind in Sharing 479"

I dont think we have ever had a sharing thread with Pig Latin in the title... :ugly:

Rules from Calvin and Hobbes' secret club charter:
"Section IV, Article 12: Every secret plan needs a secret code.
A. The more complicated the better.
B. Everybody already knows pig latin.
C. Phrases like 'code blue' are cool."

Read B, take two  :pound: and don't call me in the morning.

I disagree minnesota68. The title says, "We May Leave Some Behind yin Sharing 479"

What is a "yin"?

It isn't Japanese currency. That is the "yen".

I guess if you are from the south it can mean "yearn" or "longing" as in, "I yin for some cornbread, brown beans, and collard greens".

I don't know. Maybe I am reading too much into this. :-)

Just place the first letter of the word to the back of the word and add "ay".

Ugh, I really need to find more time to come to good ole Godplace.  I just skimmed through the last several pages of sharing 478 that I missed.  I think it was like one week ago!  Yikes. Well, work for my first week back since June was sooo boring.  I have a friend starting on Tuesday though and hopefully, we can find seats next to each other because the ones beside more are taken.  I am willing to move as long as there are 2 seats side by side. I don't like where I currently sit anyway.  Thankful to be back though.

Heather, I know someone in Johnson City.  I think he is moving back to MI but he was in there for a few month/maybe even a year.  He goes to the UPC there I think. \

Oh and you and Mel together in the same church.  There be some trouble ;-)

I have nothing else to add I think...

I hope everyone has a great Sunday!

There are 2 UPC churches in JC. Praise & Truth and The Pentecostals of JC. I've been watching online and visiting The Pentecostals.

Morning! I had a good nights sleep...except that my neck and shoulder is hurting. I must have slept wrong a few nights ago cause my neck started hurting then. But I didn't say anything cause it was tolerable. Last night, it really started hurting and moving down into my shoulder. Last night the pain was awful! This morning it's back to the mild, tolerable pain, but it's still there.

What a pain in the neck! (har har!)

Anyway, idk what is on the agenda for today. I know I'm cooking a pot of beans, but I don't know what else I'm doing.

Happy Monday!

YAY HEATHER!!!     Feels so good to finally find the place to call home church, I know.

Awesome church yesterday.  2 baptized, 1 got the H.G.  And it figures, the Sunday there is a baptism, I forget to turn the heater on.  It takes 7hrs to heat so I have to turn it on the night before.

I've been on it and we haven't had very many lately, only like 7 or 8 so far this year.

I'm going to make whole wheat lemon muffins for this week scour the house, and finish laundry as we are getting a new water heater tomorrow morning.

And tomorrow I am taking a friend to a Dr.s appt. in the morning and we are going to get a friend from the airport tomorrow evening.  He's coming back from France!!!  Yay!  Wait, I have to make lemon bars in there somewhere too... lol

As do I, please.

In local news, the wind is threatening to huff and puff and blow something down; I got a pair of black leather toe shoes in my size for $26 and a pair of toe shoes I use for work shoes for $32; it's going to be quiet at work tonight because they moved half the people to day shift; my cat is shedding her winter coat, and shedding it everywhere.

Haha you guys are hilarious.  😀  Jenn, you're right. I shouldn't view that as insignificant cause every soul counts a lot! We have a very inconspicuous guy in our church that prayed 192 people through in prison ministry last yr and forty something this yr so far. He's got a gift for winning souls.  So inspiring!

That's no fun Mel.

Cleaned the church.  Just now figured out how to have smilies on this iPhone.  Idk if I like it or not. I do think FaceTime is pretty cool. Sitting here uploading sermons to the church website. Our computer is slow.

Long day. Work is full of drama. I have to preach Wednesday night. As usual, God enjoys letting me sweat until the last minute. I wonder if anyone else has that issue? I mean, I have some awesome thoughts while I'm reading through the week, but as soon as I hear the pastor say "You're preaching" all thoughts flee. :sadbounce: Bah.

I finally got a call from the doctor. I have a polyp on my gallbladder. They don't seem overly concerned about it right now. I'm being referred to another doctor and we'll go from there. Just been told to keep watching my diet.

Speaking of diet I've joined the weight loss challenge at the YWCA. I want to lose a couple inches off my waist but I want some muscles!!! Grrrr *flexes are in mock bodybuilder way* But with this comes also keeping a food journal. I eat terribly.....

Keep a notepad or voice recorder and note the thoughts down when you get them.  A little notepad would go right along with your official presence as a state senate guard.  It would look very official and prestigious.

In local news, I think some people just like to cause drama for lack of anything better to do.  At work this guy was in um... rather high spirits the other night, yelling all kinds of stuff at nobody in particular, just acting silly.  Someone told the boss he was arguing with me about borrowing my grinder to grind off braze knots on the parts he was running.  They did an official investigation, called different employees in to ask them what went on and everything.   Yes he borrowed my grinder, but nobody was yelling about it.  We haven't had an argument since I've known him.  It surprised both of us - the first we heard about our argument was when the HR director started asking us what happened.

Man, if I have an argument with someone I'd at least like to KNOW I had it.  I think I was the last to know about the argument we never had.  Too bad really, it might have been fun to have an argument, but I missed it because neither of us knew we were supposed to be having one.  Ah well.   :pound: :pound: :pound: rumormongers.

Morning. :hi: I'm back at work. Got my morning started off with a double mocha cappuccino and a breakfast bar- unfortunately the breakfast bar was the candy bar kind, not the all-you-can-haul graze at kind. :sadbounce:
And I'm in pretty good spirits, which is unusual for me this time of morning as I am not a morning person. As I've said before, it is debatable whether I am a person at all before around 10 am.   :P Maybe it's because I listened to an old message on the way in this morning that was awesome. Brother Lloyd Dunnigan- "Never Say Die". Probably preached in the eighties from the reference he made throughout the message, and the audio quality was not the best, but still an awesome message. God knew I needed it this am...

I'm at Lowes. In the parking lot waiting on dad to get back. Had a bad night. More bad dreams and apparently I was screaming and calling out in my sleep again. Mom said I was. Plus I got up 500 times to potty. Which I don't understand. If you go and don't drink anything to replace that which you lost, how is it that you have to go and go and go so many more times? I. Hate. That. :flush:

I'm also still frustrated about a situation. I wish the party involved would just call me and tell me the reasons why things happened the way they did, instead of being all quiet on the matter.

I still feel like banging my head agains the wall. Seems it would hurt less than my feelings right now. :smirk2:

I'm behind on the customer service aspect of AT&T. I've never had any horrible issues with AT&T or Verizon Customer Care. :) They've always been super nice... and I'm not sure I remember a horrible language-accent-barrier either. In fact.. I once had a very friendly half hour conversation with an AT&T rep on the phone.. about everything BUT my phone, haha. I'm sure he was fired or reprimanded, but it was a fun conversation anyhow.

I have purchased a Motorola Razr (old flip phone) and a Samsung Blackjack II from ebay in the past (when I had AT&T) - I experienced 0 problems with my phone. I still have both. :) It's probably a really good idea to contact the seller if you are wary of buying one, just to make sure you get documentation that you TRIED to clarify what you were buying. I'm actually planning on buying a back-up smartphone that's Verizon compatible soon.

LOL  We got some at Christmas and they were um... amazing.  I guess they use real butter or something that makes the chocolate fluffier that melts in your mouth.  It was neat.

Made it home. Thought I was going to have to separate a preacher and an especially vocal pro abortion woman....had a controversial abortion bill in comittee today, and apparently the woman, who regardless of wether you agreed with her position or not, was a complete obnoxious idiot, didn't appreciate the preacher shaking his head as she left the stand.
Got home, put up new antenna, and talked on the radio a bit. Now I'm working on something for tomorrow night...

If he's been eating that stuff, then it should've broadened him.

Well it looks like I could be homeless yet again in the near months. I overheard Mike on the phone with Brandon's mom that he can't get caught up on the trailer payments and they are threatening to come take it. He told her that next time they call he's gonna tell them to come get it. Just makes me mad. Brandon and I have put alot of money and work into trying to fix this place and he's just ready to hand it over and displace all of us in the process. Great thing to wake up to this Wednesday morning.

I know that in no way compares to your situation Isaac and I'm praying for your family.....  :-(

Time to start scrambling into survival mode. Maybe one day I won't have to use it anymore......

Snow storm coming in tonight so I have to get some water and start making some bread and a pie.  BUT I am so not motivated to get in the shower.  Blah...  I need a cup of coffee or something.

Btw my friend made it from France and it was so great to see him face to face.  Now for him to get resituated. He came home to no job or residence but God takes care of those that submit their life to Him so no worries.  It still amazes me how he went to France for nearly a year.  Reminds me of Chel, such adventurous lives they lead!

Our dishwasher is broke. Brand new and already broke. It wont drain. Dad and I tried to fix it last night and it's still being dumb.

Meanwhile, EVERY SINGLE DISH in the house was dirty. No joke. Took me an hour to hand wash everything last night. Sheesh. But they are done now. I told mom and dad not to eat and dirty the dishes up. Lol

Dishwasher repairman comes on Monday. We can fast till then. ;)

Fixing to get a shower and take dad to Harbor Freight. It's a tool/hardware type store in Mobile. Then we start revival tonight.

the nice thing about "soaking your grains" is that it is flexible.  I can soak my flour for 30 min. or overnight and it still contribute to the overall yumminess of the bread.  My computer is saying that yumminess isn't a word.  pfft

I am getting to be ok with this phone though I still feel exploited a bit.  I don't know if I'm compromising by just being ok with it or if I am being too prudish in the first place because I don't like change in certain subjects... lol  But I can both video skype my sister w/ the twins and face-time my other sister on this phone.  Not at the same time though.  lol

Y'all, I have a TRUE blonde joke.  Bless her heart.

This gal we know is super sweet but really "blonde".  She was somewhere in town and sat in the car with the key turned on to listen to the radio while she was balancing her check book or something.  Anyway, she sat there too long and the battery ran down.  She called about 3 people to try to get them to come help her because she was locked in the car and the electric locks wouldn't work so that she could get out! :o

I think after quite a while she found out that you could pull the lock up manually.

What is the purpose of soaking flour?

It breaks down the philates which inhibit nutrient absorption.  It makes the bread softer and easy to digest. It's for whole grains.  The bread turned out great!

That's hilarious, PF!

I had a pretty good day today. Took Dad to the tool store and then to Lowes. Had Subway for dinner since we had revival tonight and couldn't cook. Then had good church.

While out today I stopped by the post office to check the mail. When I was walking in, two other ladies were walking out, and I heard one say something about she didn't know they could ship roosters, and that now she had seen it all...I was kinda confused for a second, then I heard it. A rooster crowed from somewhere behind all the mail boxes. It kept crowing and crowing and had itself a high old time back there.

I chuckled, SMH, and wondered if that rooster was on its way to Seths bird farm.

So far no precipitation. I was so rolling my eyes at the stupid people making a big deal over the snowstorm coming in but I guess it's up to 3 inches of snow tonight, an inch or two of ice and then around 8 more inches of snow tomorrow.  Schools are cancelled and the trucks are treating the roads.  It's not the snow but the ice that's suppose to be bad right during rush hour both to and from work/school.

Hey, is there a way to post a picture without it being an attachment but from my iPhone?  Or do I need to upload it somewhere and use a link like usual?

I am disappointed today. The weather forecasters claimed that we would be getting snow and ice in large quantities last night. I had carefully planned to bail out on work today. I got up early this morning with the intention to drive down the road, discover it icy, return home and call in, then back to bed. That plan was shattered by the discovery of a clear, but slightly damp roadway. So here I sit, at work, unhappy about it, and trapped here until 3pm... :pound:

Here is my update.
Brent lost his job, got kicked out of his house he was renting, and now we have no income..
THEN we had a doctors appointment on Wed. That cost several hundred dollars that we didn't have plus fuel to get there. But I had to go.. So we are now in the hole, and Brent's teacher cancelled class so the only good thing that come out of it was him being with me at the appointment, but they only let two people go back with you.
When we got to the appointment they did not do anything to check on the baby, took our money and rescheduled us for this up coming Thursday, now I have to take out a loan.
Having a baby is hard work...
Oh well I'm trying to keep my emotions calm, the doctor said I need to get these cramps and bleeding to stop..
We found out that Brent will not get back from the guard until a month AFTER the baby is born, they are not giving him maternity leave, so he will miss the whole thing.... I'm trying to stay positive... These are some of the consequences I Have to face...

Now we going to a friends house for a snow day.  The highway was decent right up to our exit and then you can't distinguish the road from a ditch.  Perfect timing!  People are either in the ditches or in trucks. Rules for southern people visiting the north:
1.  If it snows, stay inside.  You don't have the experience to drive in this.
2.  If you do go outside and get stuck in a ditch, don't panic.  In a few minutes two guys will be along in a 4-wheel drive pickup to pull you out.  You'll recognize them by the gun rack in the cab and the dog in the back.  Don't try to make conversation, don't try to pay them, just thank them and go on.  This is what they live for.

No, Isaac, there are not enough trucks to go around and people are not that redneck in the city.  People every snowstorm get snowed over till you can't find their car.     The key to snow driving is keeping your momentum and having good tires.

Yeah. See the road is basically clear so you have traction.

This was this morning about 8:30.

Oh, you're city folk.  I was talking about in the country.

Here they put salt on the road yesterday.  Last night it was clear and cold.  Today it is raining moderately heavy and washing all the salt off the road.  With any luck it'll get really, really cold tonight and freeze solid.  I hope.

Oh. I forgot to tell what Furbys latest thing I hate him for.

Yesterday I get home, and I went into the bathroom. There were paw prints, muddy paw prints leading into the bathroom and to the shower. I pulled back the shower curtain, and it looked like this dog had tap danced all in the shower. There was mud everywhere! So I asked mom if Furby had water in his bowl in the kitchen. She said yes. She had refilled it the night before. So I looked too, and sure enough his bowl was full. Usually the only time he goes into the bathroom/shower is to hunt water cause his bowl is empty and no one noticed...but this stupid dogs bowl was full. He just went to the bathroom to lick the water out of the shower cause apparently he didn't want to walk into the kitchen. UGH! Made me mad! There was no reaso for it, and I got stuck cleaning up after him. Idiot dog.

I hate him.

Work was terrible. If it wasn't for my current need for health insurance I would have walked out. I told Brandon he just needs to marry me, get me on his insurance and let me go work at Bass Pro Shop when it opens

I see Kim is lurking.....  :pound: Post! In my defense, mind you.....

And Lord what a day. It drug FOREVER, and then while on the way home, Lou calls me to inform me she has a flat. I'd planned on buying new tires tomorrow anyhow, so I told her to have Walmart put tires on it, and I'd be there with the checkbook shortly.
Of course, per the constant requirement that things never work easily for Roscoe, Walmart didn't have ANY tires in that size. I was at Conway so I whip off the interstate to check at the Conway Walmart.
The snot nose kid behind the counter informs me "Sir, we don't have any tires that size." Me: "son, you are lying.Look behind you." He looks in complete surprise at the FOUR tires in the exact size I needed literally a foot from his head. Took me thirty minutes to buy tires they "didn't have" that I could see......
So, I just got home. And I'm grumpy.

Could be.  The chemicals in processed food are so bad they affect hormones and coming off them can really feel like a mild case of withdrawals in the detox phase.  Yeah it's hard but so is getting even more severe sicknesses and chronic achiness from fake food.

It's not enough to just not eat bad stuff.  Tons of water and some super smoothies will really help.

Good job and you go girl!  Being all stewardly and intelligent with your body!

In local news, family from Texas is here.  They were trying to watch game show network but they had messed something up and it wouldn't work.  They spent 30 or 40 minutes trying to figure it out, called DirecTV, etc.  I came downstairs (I always retreat to my world when they start watching The Box) and pushed one button...  They had accidentally switched the input source on the TV.

I keep thinking I shouldn't have done that.  Now they are watching TV and commenting only about what they are watching.  Before they were actually talking.  You know, real conversation.

Okay, here's a dumb tech question:

How can I tell if my computer would be able to wirelessly hook up to the Internet?

I would need a router or whatever to hook to the modem or whatever.....  But then how can I tell if the computer has what it would need to make a wireless connection or not?  lol

There's talk of moving the computer out of the kitchen and into my room. :P

If it's a desktop, you would need a wifi card on the computer side.  Easiest way is to get a Linksys USB clip.  If it's a laptop you probably don't need to do anything.  And you can test a laptop's ability to connect easily enough by taking it to any library or McDonald's, which has open wifi connection.

It's probably easier to just run some more cable to your room though.  Never take the high tech way when the easy way will work.

Or go to amazon.com, look for "usb wifi" and read a lot of reviews to find a good one.

Have you never made muesli?  It's basically the same thing, same ingredients, except you don't put muesli in a blender and you let it sit in the fridge all night, and the oats are not crunchy the next morning.  With everything blended up you don't have to wait all night for the oats to get soft.

When we were kids, homemade muesli was a favorite breakfast.  My smoothie is just a quick-and-easy version.

Yes, until you blend them up with the milk, honey and banana.  Then they are wet.

You might want to blend it up half an hour or so before you plan to drink it.  They do taste a bit grainy right when you blend it.

Just "older" would have been fine .  You could have left the "alot"  out of it. And i think she said KIM who is older---not ROSCOE who is older!!!  But by all rights i guess 11 years seems like "alot" to the baby of the family.

Just made a berry cobbler from a Pinterest recipe. It was AMAZING!!!! 1 bag of mixed frozen berries. 1 box of white cake mix. 1 can of Sprite. Combine and bake at 350 for 35 minutes. Plus it's a Weight Watchers recipe so Mike can have it.

Been cleaning and napping most of the day. I still feel like poop.

It's VERY GOOD. One can cherry pie filling, one can pineapple chunks, one red velvet dry cake mix, and two sticks of melted butter poured over top. Baked at 350 for 50 minutes, and it's YUMMY!

Sandra - That's become its nickname because of how hot it is. *lol* Only the very brave try it and like it. ;)

Mel - The recipe is entirely in his head, and he never writes it down (in spite of multiple people begging him to) so I doubt you'll ever get it unless you come visit and take notes while watching him make it. *lol* I seriously think he could make the stuff in bulk and market it. Everybody I know who likes hot/spicy stuff really likes it.

Alex and I would get along great. I'd pick cookies over cake almost any day.

*whew* Ya know.... I don't think husbands have any idea how loved it makes their wife feel when they do fix-it projects around the house. Particularly when they aren't even asked to check into something, and just see something needing to be done and/or fixed, and just... DO IT. My sweetie has been running for about 4 hours straight like a crazy man on a mission, doing all kinds of stuff around here... from investigating the broken-whatever-it-is on the dishwasher, to running a pile of stuff out to the shed for me, to putting a loaf of bread in the bread machine, to... well, there's a whole bunch of stuff he's accomplished today. And I'm extremely appreciative. :)

Ahhhh.  I don't think I'll be hungry for two days.

My aunt Diane's and uncle Stanley's church had a wild meat supper.  I didn't try the fried chitlins (I firmly believe intestines should be digesting food, not eaten as food) but all the rest was good, like the fried catfish, hushpuppies, fried squirrel, barbecued raccoon, hashbrown casserole, fried sweet potatoes...  And the banana pudding was homemade.  And the brownies were rich and gooey.  And the apple cream cheese pie was great.  And the...

So much food, so little stomach capacity.

We had youth service tonight. I held Kira on one shoulder with one arm while she slept, and had Olivia on my knee and helped her play with play-doh with my other hand. :cloud9: It was great! Krissy tried to get a picture of it at my request, but they didn't turn out. My two girlies at the same time was more than my heart could take!

Then we went and got pizza at Pizza Hut.

I had to step up and be "authoritative" tonight. *sigh* I hate being the one in charge sometimes. But three of my sign kids have not been faithful to practices and stuff, and so I had to cut them from tomorrows performance. That's the rules. You don't come to practice, you can't sign. No matter how good you are. Made one girl really mad at me, but she did it to herself. She always has an attitude about it anyway, maybe this will wake her up and she will get serious.

I hate doing it, but it had to be done. Ugh.

Anyway. I'm just glad it's over...for now.

Oh Chili Cookoffs must be the in thing right now ;) We had one last week.  We made $200 in donations.  Turned out great!

You and me both, Roscoe.

Went to church, came home.

My sister brought my nephew's baby to church, he stayed with her last night...  He had a meltdown though this time from the beginning and she took him in the other room.  Left early but did stay a while.  That's only the 2nd time he's ever been to church in his life.

Nate, the other little boy at church, referred to the baptistry as "Jesus's pond."

Yesterday we took some youth to the top of a mountain overlooking our city and prayed for revival. That was cool.

Back has locked up on me. Weird thing is though I treached the adult class this morning and felt almost no pain while treaching. Left the platform set down and pain and stiffness came back.

Tonight I couldn't get up, so I am laying here wishing I was at church.

Ugh.  Too much grease.  I just vomited.  Between the meat and grease yesterday, leftover fried fish for breakfast, leftover deviled eggs (a lot) for lunch and greasy soup for supper, it was just too much grease.  This happens occasionally, I just don't pay attention to what I'm eating and build up too much grease intake over too short a time.

But at church dinners nobody ever serves vegetables and fruit.  Or if they do serve vegetables, they're cooked in grease.

So I'm laying in my bed reading a new book, and I hear what sounds like rocks being hurled at the windows. That's saying a lot since I don't have any windows in my "room" AND my fan is on high, and normally I can't hear the weather...so I get up and it's storming still, has been since about 9, and the rock sound is deafening. I look out a window and I see lightning and HAIL. Like marble sized hail. I grab my phone an my keys and head to the foyer to get a better look, and it is COVERING the area under the carport thingy. So I open the door and grab some. This is the first time I can remember seeing any this big. I hope it didnt damage our truck. :smirk2:

It only lasted about 2-3 minutes, but it was really coming down!

I've been called into work early. Doesn't help that Mike was up til after 2 with the tv blaring and randomly playing his guitar. He's gotten his nights and days mixed up again. I wouldn't be that bad but when he's sleeping during the day I try to be respectful and be quiet and mostly stay in my room. He on the other hand has no issue with being loud because he wants us up because he's lonely. Maybe he shoulda thought about that before he stayed in bed all day!!! So I'm tired and already cranky. But I only have to work 3 days this week. I had taken off the end of the week for Ladies Conference but of course I can't go. Was gonna try to go see Mel but my car is being stupid and I can't afford it. It'll be 4 days straight of being cooped up in this house. Hooray....... :-\

Roscoe, an apple gives the same morning perk as coffee.  That's what people substitute when they're trying to wean themselves off coffee and I've heard it really is pretty great.

That's cool Mel, but I hope it didn't damage stuff too.  That's the only thing about the amazingness of God's creation is that it can be inconvenient.  I haven't finished processing that thought yet... lol

We're supposed to get freezing rain today and 9-15 in. of snow tonight.  So we'll see.  Sometimes the news is so dramatic and I'm skeptical since we just got dumped on.  That is the thing about MO. A few degrees can make all that snow into just a bit of rain and ice.

I'm really blonde sometimes.

The dishwasher guy came this morning and fixed it with no service charge...so after he left, I put a whole chicken in the crock pot all seasoned up so it would start cooking for our dinner. Granny and Ann wanted to go to McDs for breakfast, so I joined them and was gone about an hour. I just came home and checked the crockpot, which I had turned on high this morning, and it's ice cold.

It was not plugged in.

One thing worries me above all else though.  Aunt Diane works at a nursing home, and she went to work this morning, then went back home sick.  I do hope she didn't give it to any of the residents.   :-\

I don't like that snowfall doesn't record well on video.  It's coming down pretty grand right now and supposed to get to blizzard conditions w/ white out warnings.

Meanwhile.  I'm going to grade some school work and write a letter.

Also, I've been very undisciplined.  I've been eating things with bad flour in it.  Yesterday I thickened the stew at my friend's house with her flour and about 20 min. of eating a bowl of it I was SO itchy and got like 4 what look kind of like cystic zits.  Ugh.  And I've ate other things.  So just know, with all the healthiness I try to encourage others to have, I am still striving to do better with mess ups too.  I don't want to make light of eating terrible on a regular basis cause it's not funny seeing elders struggle with their health and not being able to eat hardly anything good and take bunches of meds that have side affects.  Yeah, they all thought Jesus would come before then too.  Now instead of preaching, many of them are in nursing homes for like 10yrs before they die.  That's not what I want.  bah.

The only reason I didn't quit my job today is because Brandon said he wouldn't be my sugar daddy.

It. Was. Stupid! Stupid enough that now I can't work out this evening because my knees hurt so bad. My knees hurt so bad that I'm walking funny and my bursitis is flaring up in my hip. I'm going to eat at Salsaritas then coming home to die and do it all again tomorrow.

Let's just say google is a double edged sword.  When you are googling for one thing you can get a few listings for something very different.

Work again tomorrow and a dentist appointment in the afternoon.

My dentist has retired and turned his practice over to a new lady.  I have went to the same dentist all my life, it's going to be weird seeing the new one after what....probably over 25 years?  :freaky:  I don't remember how old I was when I started going to the dentist.

I could do with a few more dentist visits.  I never did get in the habit of brushing my teeth as a child, despite my mother's best efforts, and my teeth show the evidence.

and to make my day worse i locked my keys in the car at salsarita's. thankfully Brandon has a spotted past and my friend Sherry brought us a coat hanger.

Kidding, kidding.  I have black toe socks, because a slice of white ankle between black shoes and black pants just stands out too, too much.

I don't think there is a rule.  Maybe 2-3 inches?

Stupid really. The whole thing. I just wish I had a reason for it. Last night I can't blame it on spicy food, or even eating too late. I ate dinner at 5, and it consisted of chicken, rice and green beans. A very tame meal. No snacks later.

I woke up on the wrong side of the bed today.

I too, couldn't sleep at all last night. Turned the light out at 11:30, but the neighbor upstairs TV was BLARING. That in addition to the wind making my window screen rattle and shake. It took me a while to fall asleep. So once I did, something woke me up...and again the neighbors tv STILL blaring. Ugh. Also my neck hurt, I couldn't get comfortable on my back, and I can't lay on my sides, or my hands fall asleep and ache for days....so I didn't get much sleep.

Super grouchy.

Friday night I dreamed that my dad was getting onto me for how messy my room was, so I cleaned it all up Saturday, and started a huge session of laundry! haha.. Whew!

But seriously. Pray over your mind.. and pray for your dreams. :)

[informative rant]

So late last month, my car died.

It has a push button start, no key hole.  And it has to go through a certain process to start.  All said and done, we had to tow it to a dealership to get it fixed.  Unfortunately no local shop had the knowledge or know how to fix it.  And it cost nearly $800 to get one small part that had failed replaced.

And a battery.

The battery should have warned me.  They call me when I am about a mile from the dealership and say "Uh, we couldnt get your battery to charge.  You want us to replace it?"  I figured it was 5 years old...so sure, why not.  All in all, it was about the same price it would have cost me to buy it myself.

But while there, the service manager said "You need new brakes.  You have about 10% left on the back brakes, 25% left on the front brakes.   It will be $400 for us to do it...but that's not including the price of new rotors if we have to put them on there."  Now, I know how to fix brakes.  And I know for a fact that I can probably do a entire brake job myself, including buying all new rotors for less than $150.  And if I just need the rotors turned, it would make the price about half that.  So I say no.

Then he says "Your exhaust system has a hole in it.  It needs replaced.  $800 for that"  I say no, because they made the mistake of showing me what was wrong.  1 little hole in the exhaust.

So I leave.

A few days later, I buy brakes, and plan a couple night ordeal of getting the rotors turned and installing new brakes.  When I get the first wheel off, I say to dad, "Uh, look at this...." The brake pads?  Perfect.  I look at my previous receipts, and those brakes were put on less than a year ago.   The back brakes were great too!

So I take the parts back that I had bought.  They tried to lie to me and tell me what I needed, when really I didn't need it at all.

Then I call a local muffler shop, and tell him my problem.  He says bring it in.  I do.  $20 bucks to fix the hole.

And did I forget to mention the battery again?  Yeah, while I was waiting for the STEALERSHIP to get done with my car, I heard the service manager sell at least 2 more batteries.

So here's my point:  If you have to take your car to a dealership, and they start telling you that you must replace this and that and this and that, be careful.  In my case, at least all they got me on was a battery.  But if somebody goes in there and doesn't know better, they could be ripped off.  I know some of you will never take a vehicle to a mechanic, but most of you will have to at some point.  Find a honest, reputable mechanic, and make sure you get a second opinion if you have to take it to a dealership.

Went to work, went to the dentist.  I need a bunch of stuff done to my teeth, about like the mechanic deal.  :P

Lord, I'm tarred.  Or weary.  Or something.  All the above.

I'm going to go to Harrodsburg to revival in a little bit.  Sammy Sherrill is there, Taco, should you happen to read this.

About 30 years ago his dad had a revival at that church and we used to visit over there a lot during that time frame.  I don't remember being at any of those services myself, but mom was.  But we have the tapes from it that I've listened to a lot of times, and I sing a lot of their (elder Bro. Sherrill's) songs (some of them being ones they wrote) that I learned from the tapes.

Anyways, I think it's cool that Sammy's there 30 years later.  The pastor there, Bro. Bowman, told me he didn't know that elder Bro. Sherrill and preached there, and Sammy didn't realize that he had either till somebody else that's went to church there forever dug out their old tapes from back then.

It's been a long time since I've been over there to church....haven't been since Bro. Bowman has been there I don't think.  I was there a couple times while Bro. Abernathy was there some years back.

Anyways, I'm rambling.

Ask myself why I put so much trust in them or have a higher expectation than they were actually meeting.  Because obviously it wasn't based on truth but on what I wanted and then imagined.  Ask why I gave them that much influence in my life so as to be able to knock the wind out of me.

No seriously.  That's what I did.

Yes, Poopsie.  I almost added that in my rambling of his wife being your FL pastor's sister and such.

I think he's preaching IN men's conference this weekend, speaking of him.

He preached last week at the Fl District conference in Ocala. He was a close personal friend of my family long before we ever went to Bro Crabtrees. I love him! He teases me about fruit loops everytime he sees me. Hehe.

:sing: :sing: :sing: :sing: :sing: :sing:
I am not alone
They are sick with me
Though we're all home alone
We're in good company

We are not alone
We're all sick as one
The whole gang throwing up
And man, it ain't no fun!
:sing: :sing: :sing: :sing: :sing: :sing:

At least 1-I have a good attendance record, and 2-lots of other people are sick so the boss knows it ain't just me.

Morning.  :hi: Had an eventful evening.....Lou's car was making a noise the other day. I listened to it and it sounded water-pumpish, so I figured it was time to replace it. Problem was I had no time. I told her to keep an eye on the temperature gauge and we'd get it fixed this weekend....Just like the tires incident, the car refused to co-operate.  :pound: Lou called me yesterday evening and told me it was steaming and antifreeze pouring out.  :o Fortunately she was near our local mechanic. The Caddy is now there, and yes, the water pump had failed rather spectacularly. And Rusty was needing brakes so I had no "fall back" ride..

But to be thankful- I am thankful the water pump failed where it did and when it did, while we have the money and are not 7 hours away from home on vacation. I am also thankful that my brother in law helped me put Rusty's new brakes and u-joints in last night, rendering him capable of bringing me to work today. Truly, God is good even though I am tired of things going haywire on me........

It's snowing.  29K people w/o power in metro.  I've been told that even if I tried I couldn't get to them cause the roads are so bad so I'm hoping that they are staying warm.

I'm sure there won't be another snow day tomorrow so I'm going to get as many cuddles as I can in today before it's back to the routine.

The threat of losing power makes me want to have a rocket stove about now.

Side note: after hearing the stories from our friend who just returned from France, I'm beside myself in disbelief.  How can people who have the resources, be ok with being stinky and dirty?  You know all those Europeans that look greasy but "fashionable?"  Yeah, I guess it's not just a look, it's a lifestyle.  Top fashion, no hygene.  *shudder*  I understand one not realizing the extent of their own BO but how can they socialize like that?!  People with MONEY, in a country with so many natural nice ways to be clean and smell nice?  France is the lead producers of lavender for pete's sake!

Good luck with that.

Melodya...this isn't France, but it drives me nuts when people have showers and soap and whatever else they need and they still look and smell awful! Hello!? Cant you smell that? Don't you know you look horrible and dirty/oily? Your clothes are dirty and stink? Ugh!

I have NEVER been someone who is up on the latest fashions, and I have my own style that drives people crazy. Friends and family have for years tried to change my style and show me what would look better or whatever...and I refuse to conform to their standard...I am me and that's just it, you dont like it...oh well, your choice...BUT!!! That being said, no matter how I look fashion wise...my clothes are ALWAYS clean. In fact my mom and dad have yelled at me for years for "wasting" water and detergent cause I wash clothes and bathe too much. I must have at least one shower a day. Sometimes two. And mom and dad hate that!

But I WILL be clean.

So I feel the frustration of scrungy ppl who know better and have resources.

(don't even get me started on my parents hygiene habits...they discust me, and there is NO excuse!)

Roscoe:  Amen.  My greatest fear in traveling is something will break down far away from home and mechanics I know and trust.

Melody:  What about your style drives people crazy?

MellowYellow and Melody:  If you see me really greasy headed, with bad BO, it means I have been sick and opted to lie in bed for a few days rather than getting up to take a shower.  :P But it's all a matter of perspective - Europeans think we Americans are rather obsessive about bathing.  And dermatologists actually agree that taking a shower every day is a bit hard on the skin and hair.

:great:

It's not the water that's hard on their skin but the soaps or products they put on their skin maybe.  Its proven most of those lotions have an adverse affect long term.  I don't wash my hair everyday but I can't handle it getting to the greasy look point.  I also have learned to focus on washing my head. My hair, especially the length part doesn't really get dirty ever.

People had chronic lice over there too. I know some grody people in he US have that but not people with resources.  People, especially kids, can get it but they don't KEEP it!

Isaac,  we all have sick times where we are unfit for social settings but I can't imagine you remaining in that state.

Hygiene is a matter of stewardship and respect.

Nah, I don't stay that way for long.  When I have a strong desire to stand upwind of myself, it's time to take a shower.  Besides, my head would itch like crazy if I went more than three days without getting the oil out of it.

My style is a lack thereof. I dont dress girly. Like at all. I HATE frills and ruffles and lace and pink and fru fru stuff. Bows and shoes and accessories and the like. HATE HATE HATE it. Plus I tend to wear tee shirts, jean skirts and sneakers 24/7. I will dress up for church, but I'm very very plain when it comes to even that. I hate my hair being fixed, I would rather just have a slick back ponytail.

It makes some people cringe cause I honestly DON'T CARE about all that mess. I'm modest. I'm comfortable. And most importantly I'm CLEAN. That's all that matters to me.

Mom used tea tree oil and honey.  Called it "bat wings and snake legs" in reference to a witch's brew, because of the taste.  But it worked though, broke up the junk in the lungs so you could cough it up.  If the taste didn't kill you first...

Marshmallows were first made to treat sore throats. Nowadays they don't use real marshmallow root to make marshmallows. It doesn't really have a flavor but you seep it in water and it gets thick and coats your throat clean and soothingly.

I'm somewhere in the middle. I like an itty bitty amount if frufru occasionally. I also notice for me that the more secure I become and exercise grace the more I can take or leave it but taking it occasionally is nice. I threw an outfit together on Sunday that I got compliments for. What they don't know though is that I wore my skirt higher and with a belt because I have a hole in the tummy of that shirt. Lol. Not too long ago the compliments would have made me feel too conspicuous and I would want to run home and change.  Now I'm just taking it in stride better. It doesn't make me want to dress up more.  I like my layered t-shirts and jean skirt with sockless canvas shoes.  Maybe I would dress more fru fru if I was crafty or had the money. Hahaha it's all I can do to wear my glasses. Those make me feel like I'm suppose to look professional or something.

Mel... I bet it has something to do with pride... You don't fit into what she is proud of herself for doing, mso you get told...

And I like mellow yellows style. And Mel's, and rubys, and jenns... I match them all... It just depends where I am and if I want to... Lol.

I have a style of my own I am told... And last Sunday someone told me that they wished they could get away with my style... Lol.

I value comfort and modesty above all.
(And being able to spontaneously attackhug random people and still be covered... Lol)

LOL you all are fun.

Nice style, Mellow, you look nice and modest with some class.

I think others look alright in fru fru, high heels, whatever..... but not me man. LOL I couldn't even walk in high heels to save my life. I had to even get used to 2 inch heels on my cowboy boots) I feel so plain jane, however, when I'm around ladies that are all "fru frued". and I feel so SHORT around others that have the really high heels on.

Feel better soon, Melody!

It wouldn't work.  We already tried with Chel hugs, remember?  The problem was by the time the auction was over, Chel was already more than halfway across the country, and nobody knew where she would turn up next.  I'm fairly certain even Chel didn't know where she'd turn up next.

In local news, my pastor and wife used to go to General Conference but they don't plan to go this year, and neither does anybody else from my church.  Looks like I'll be a lone lynx for my first GC.  (Better than a lone wolf - lynx are felines, accustomed to prowling alone.)

Oh wait. We already know it will. For sure. :bigcheese:

Imagine! All those insane and nutty GPers hangin' out together in heaven?!? Oh dear.  :biglaugh:

Aaaanyhow.... I'm sorry you're sick, Mel. :( Ginger peach tea might help settle your tummy too, if you have any around.

Randomness: both my dad (district board) and my little brother (youth committee) get voted on again this year. It's always sort of intriguing to me to make a prediction of whether or not they'll be put back on this year, or whether someone else will have a turn. My hunch is that they'll both be put back on this time. But we'll see. Sometimes on it, sometimes off it, and sometimes it's nicer when they're NOT. *lol*

Gotta get going on a custom order today. I have the fabric cut, just need to make myself start sewing it together.

Oh! Yes I love peaches in a can. I just don't like anything that isn't a peach, and it says it tastes like peach. Peach flavoring I guess is what I mean. Peaches themselves, canned, cooked or fresh, is good. But no peach tea, water, ice cream, candy, cake mix, or anything flavored like peach.

You'd love Blue Bell peach ice cream.  It's not peach flavored, it's vanilla ice cream with peach slices.  Only kind of peach ice cream that I really like.

I'm the exact opposite. I like everything that tastes like peaches...but hate actual peaches. In a can or otherwise. I like the flavoring in peach cobbler, but I'll eat around the peaches.

The peach jolly rancher that comes in the passion fruit mix is my favorite. I can't stop eating them when I buy the bag. Yum!

Quote from: Psalm_97 on February 28, 2013, 07:10:28 PMI thought the apostolic community was going for more than 100 years now.  Don't we claim the Azusa Street revival as our start?

as a movement we do but not as an organization/denomination.  We can trace our roots to Acts but that's not what the stat is addressing.  "Pentecostalism" (and then Apostolicism) is still considered a new thing. We have rounded our 60yrs I believe for the UPCI, and all the other orgs that started up about the same time.  How many of those are truly having revival?  I know the PAW which started at the same time, is not.  I believe AOG is around the same time and they are not.  The Nazarenes claim the early 1900's as their beginnings and they are not.  We just had a guy last year convert from them because they were dying out terribly.

and I said that I'm watching the Apostolic comm. because as far as I know the UPCI is the biggest apostolic org. so if it burns hotter, it'll affect far reaching, if it dies out, it'll be far reaching and the other Apostolic orgs will be looked to even more.  So I'm watching.

I have been told that before. I guess I should try it sometime. One good thing about living with Mom and Dad, I can buy any kind of ice cream, and if I don't like it, it won't be wasted. It eventually gets eaten by them. Lol

So I guess it's worth a taste.

Yeah, the kids in my Children's Church love instant pudding, but don't like real, homemade pudding.  It seems whatever people get used to is what they like, whether it is objectively better or not.  You get used to fake, you prefer it over the real thing.

I hope wherever she is she is having a good day.

I feel some better. I just ate a bowl of canned chicken noodle soup with some oyster/soup crackers and I'm drinking another sprite. So far I've kept everything down today...the toast and crackers from earlier has stayed with me. Hopefully this soup will do the same, despite the continued nausea I feel.

Been sleeping off and on. I have a book I am dying to read, but can't focus on the words. My mind wanders and I end up drifting off to sleep so reading is useless.

Got a text saying practice is cancelled, apparently Bro Ron is sick too...so while I hate he is sick, I'm glad I don't have to be at church till 6:45! Instead of 5:30 and be ready to stand and sing. I may not sing on the platform at all tonight. Depends on how I feel at 6:45.

Gonna lay back down now. I suddenly feel sleepy and weak.

This completely jacks up my day, because a six year old will not have any fun at this event. Thus I will not have fun- and I could potentially miss several hundred dollars in sales.

I see Heather lurking!

I was catching up. Let's see if I remember everything I wanted to say.

I'm leaving for a cabin in the Smokey's in the morning [with a stop in Knoxville for the zoo, the best used bookstore in the world, and Firehouse Subs] . I was supposed to have today off but apparently my coworker is passing the bubonic plague around her house. She's missed the entire week. I ended up only having to work a half day but it gave me enough hours that I won't have to take vacation for having tomorrow off. Also work has been really stressing me out this week. I felt like I was going to turn into the Hulk monday and tuesday.

I can be fru fru but I've been told I have a nice style. Lots of layers. Vests, scarves, etc. Heels are a bit of an issue sometimes because #1 I'm not known for being very graceful and #2 I'm already taller than most ladies at church anyway. Throw in 3-4 inch heels and I tower over everyone. I love my riding boots and my flats. I've also been known to wear Converse All-Stars during weeknight services

And on the hygiene note there is a certain coemployee of mine who I question how often she showers. Somedays are way worse than others. Ratty, nasty looking hair. Certain aromas. And pray to Jesus you don't end up going into the bathroom after she's been in there on those days. Good grief....

And mostly my style is casual. Lot's of solid colors.

And I haven't made it to church all week. Between work and my old lady legs [both my knees have been hurting and my bursitis in my left hip has really flared up this week.] it just hasn't happened. I have been watching online though.

I always end up leaving something out then rereading and going 'ahhhh!!!!!'

*sigh* My genius photographer brother may have just been the one to catch the first sign of cancer in a photograph of a baby. Retinoblastoma is cancer in the eye. A tumor forms in front of the retina and causes a white eye where "red eye" should appear. One red, one white eye. And a friend who just shared a photo with him of a two week old baby has that. SO not a conversation I would want to have to have with someone. "Um, btw, I'm pretty certain your new baby has cancer." Problem is, if it's not taken care of, it can spread. Very far and badly. So. If you have a minute, please pray for a baby named Addison, who (by all appearances) has a major problem that her parents may not even be aware of yet.

Victory report!

So I didn't go to church cause I was still feeling bad, and I had text Ann earlier and let her and Granny know I wasn't coming. So after church, her and Granny came into my room and visited me and layed hands on me with prayer. :) By the time they left, I was feeling MUCH MUCH better and was starving to death. So I ate some more toast as not to over-do it, but my nausea is GONE, my headache is GONE, my body aches are GONE, and I feel pretty normal. I'm a bit tired still, but that's from being in bed all day and not eating much.

So by morning I should be fine!

God is a healer!

Also...sharing: I am currently eating a can of peaches cause of all the talk earlier. Hehe.

The best time to start learning to play the piano is three years ago.  The second best time is now.  I'm sure there are some teachers you can find in your areas.

Hppy Friday everyone and Happy March!

Thanks!

I was looking at organ lessons on YouTube but wow I probably have to learn piano first.

I have SO many things I want to do!  I want to learn Spanish completely, go back to school, piano/organ, improve my singing, learn to truly sew. There is not enough time and talent for this old girl.

On style.  I absolutely adore knee socks.  I have nearly every pattern from Target and others.  Today, because I'm going to have my coat on the entire time, I have a light pink USA t-shirt on, jean skirt, and knee socks that are light and dark purple striped.  Kinda Seuss-y.

Seuss-y can be fun.  And it can make people wonder about you, which is good for them because they use their brains more than they would otherwise.   :thumbsup2:

Just start with piano because that will give you the basics of what you need to know to play a keyboard instrument.

I'm wearing striped knee socks in the color heather grey and navy blue right now.

My daughter has a fever of 101 so I picked her up from school today. Poor thing. Third time in the past few months. The nurse says this is  pattern she is seeing in a lot of the children at the school.

The IRS automated phone system says my refund is on the way!

Maybe I'll use it to buy 102 packs of razor blades...

Has anyone found a good way to permanently de-hair a skin surface?  I'm hesitant to try all these UV light, electro-zap things, because I just know in about three years we'll find they cause terrible skin cancer or something.

In other news, I think I have accidentally made a convert...

I got a little 30 watt guitar amp for the church stage, to put beside the pastor's chair so he could hear better.  Then the pastor retired and I had a 30 watt amp on my hands.  We're running a skeleton 2nd shift crew at work so there's nobody around to bother with my music, so I brought it in night-before-last to blast some tunes.

Now 30 watts of treble is a lot of audio power, at least for normal people (heavy metal dudes, ignore this part.)  So I had my music player turned down to about half power, and the amp turned down to about 20%.

When I left for my break time, Wayne took my place on the furnace line.  I went over to the shipping department where the comfortable chairs are and proceeded to rest.  Suddenly I heard a rather startlingly loud noise from the general area of my work station.  I looked around just in time to see Wayne frantically running back to the amp to turn it down.  He had plugged his smart phone into the amp and started it playing at full volume.

When I returned after my break his first words were "How much will you take for that?"  Ain't sellin it.  "Where can I get one?"

So I sold him an audio adapter that you need to connect a music player ($5) and he's going to hunt a guitar amp today.  We'll see what he found tonight at work probably, he'll be blasting music with it.

I went to a "singles fellowship" thing at Pastors house to tonight for food and games. I hate when they call it that...it's like we are all looking for dates or something when it isn't like that at all! Had fun though...the food was great, bean platter things...I thought of Seth. And I won a game a phase 10.

I somehow lost all the contacts in my phone though. *sigh* I have most of the ppl I text regularly cause I don't delete texts, so it was pretty simple to figure out numbers that way...but all those other numbers, I'm just sick over losing. Ugh.

Sandra, please text me with your name so I have your number again. And I think that will do it for my GPers that I had the numbers for before I lost them all. Lol

I'm waiting to see if my "My money that the government holds for a year and doesn't even pay tax on" check comes today.  If it does I will be busy.  If it does not I will have a long, quiet, relaxing Saturday.

I am having a GREAT day today......Went to the hamfest today, sold some stuff, traded some stuff, and bought some stuff..
Came home with a 48' tall tower, some co-ax, and a wire antenna.
After climbing my fat little butt up two trees twenty plus feet, and worrying about falling, I got my wire antenna stretched about thirty feet up with the help of a fellow ham.
The first station I heard, I tried to talk to- and DID! He was in the Virgin Islands.  :o I am now hooked. I have talked to stations all over the Bahamas for the last hour.....
And that's my sharing for the day. Oh, and after all the horse trading, I wound up coming out with $26 profit for the day. Twas a great day, me buckos.... :P

Went to a mini-Ladies conf. Kim Sciscoe preached.  Got me a blessing and a Word to last me till it doesn't need to anymore.

We went out to eat afterwards.  Blah, I always remember afterwards why I'm not crazy about eating out.

I have ordered so many things from ebay and amazon that if a shipment did fail to arrive I probably wouldn't notice.  Not that I'm spending a lot of money (none of it is expensive except the Merrell shoes) but the sheer number of bits is hard to keep track of.

MellowYellow the food is always better at home.  Unless you went out to eat at Fatz, in which case the food is about as good as if you ate at home.

I don't know who the girl on the left is.  The girl to my right, in the red, is my (2nd) cousin, I don't know who the girl next to her is, the next boy was the assistant pastor's (sorta is what he was, I don't know if he had that title or not) son, and the one on the end was the pastor's great nephew.

Went to church, came home.  We had the Deckers, missionaries to Panama tonight.

Lou's Mama was kind enough to keep her, and in return, Lou brought Chey's two little cousins home last night.
And Isaac, we didn't talk much because this weekend was a contest weekend in which stations try to collect rewards from the ARRL for talking to the most stations in different areas. So most of the contacts were limited to giving callsigns and locations....still cool to know that I could communicate with someone that far away with a fifty watt radio and a piece of copper wire strung between two trees. :P

Home from church. Amazing, awesome service. Now I know why we were back in time. Service turned into one of those that the pastor was calling certain people to the front. One of those where you stand in the back going 'not me. not me. not me.' Then he tells the lady standing beside you to bring you to the front because he doesn't know your name yet. Then he pretty much tells you everything you've been struggling with and praying about and that God has your answers. So yea......

Well.

Ended up going to church at Shiloh after a bit of a runaround.

Came home.

Yay Heather! :highfive:

Nathan's co-worker last week.  7 were baptized today.

Pastor preached old school today.  I love that I have a pastor that preaches the whole Word and not just basics all the time and not just grace with no depth.  We get the whole kit and kaboodle.  :)

Made some lemonade. Supposed to be a copycat recipe to CFA lemonade, it's good but not quite the same.

My senses aren't dull,  just thought i should try to stick up for him a little bit.   He seems to be pretty capable of handling all the things ya'll say to him.  He usually replies before i have a chance to.  And by the way, Bobby, where are the horns that hold that halo up?   :biglaugh:

Sis. Kim we are depending on you to tell embarrassing stories about Roscoe.  So far all you have done is defend him.   :nono:

I don't want to go back to work...........I'm assuming Jennifer is back since I haven't been called in to open today. We'll see if she's there or how long she sticks around.

And I don't think I've ever been to a General Conference....Sadly, I don't see that changing this year. And in other sharing- I am back at work. The cappuccino is ALL that is fueling me at this point. Lou and I have about decided to just go back to the Branson area for vacation- it is closer to home and won't cost as much. Unfortunately that rules out meeting some of the folks I'd hoped to meet enroute to vacation, like Isaac, PF, and maybe Mel.......Bah. I shoulda been born insanely wealthy instead of incredibly handsome.

Good morning.

Quiet here. I'm only 3hrs from GC and have no idea if we'll go. I'm also 3hrs from Branson I think and Nathan and the kids have never been.

Mail just came, and I got an Andrew Carlton CD.  :)  Not quiet here.

I think a speaker system embedded in the walls should be standard equipment in all new homes.  With an audio port in the wall in each room, for plugging in a music player.  Skip the ipod port though, Apple keeps changing the connection pins.

All you need is a aux cord for iPods.

In other news...I'm gonna go smash my head thru the wall. I love being treated like C R A P! :smirk2:

:frustrated:

Yes, an aux cord.  But people like the ipod ports because you can charge your ipod while you listen to it.  If only Apple wouldn't change the port when they put out new ipods and iphones...

Go ahead and smash a hole in the wall.  I'll put a speaker in the hole and frame it with replacement wall bits and spackle.

all you need is a usb port in the wall and the cords will fit it

Yeah...all iPods and phones use USB ports for the chargers, so that would work too.

/me hugs PF back.

Just having a moment. Ignore me. It's not as bad as I make it sound. I'm just frustrated at two separate situations right now, and I feel like I'm trying my best to do what I'm supposed to in each one, but still get the short end.

But then you'd have to hide a computer in the wall to handle the USB connection.

Now my inner nerd is awake and actively considering the problem.   :smirk2:

iPod or no, I still think every house should come with a sound system in the walls.

Andrew's old ipod uses the same plugs as my new iphone.  Don't some cars have USB plugs for music?  Seems logical.

Yeah, but the latest generation of iStuff uses something different.  There was a big uproar from people who, should they upgrade to a new one, will need to buy all new car adapters, not to mention the poor hotels who will need to buy all new radios.  Or maybe they'll just go back to standard aux connections and forget the charge-and-listen stuff for hotel guests.

The veins in the backs of my hands are beginning to show.  Either I'm getting old or I'm working too hard.  Given my job at the catch end of the furnace line, I'd say working too hard.

It bothers me that it bothers me.  I always considered myself too blase to care about how I look.  My receding, graying hair didn't phase me.  My prominent upper teeth don't bug me (although the discoloration does... that's MY fault, and it advertises my neglect to the world every time I smile.)  But the veins showing in my hands do bother me, and I can't say why, and that bothers me that I can't say why.

How old are you, Isaac?  I don't think it's from working too hard.  Nathan and others I know work crazy hard and while it roughs up their hands quite a bit, it's not until they get old with thin skin that their veins become obvious.  Nathan is also super white.  Maybe it has something to do with being outside why the men I know have thick hands?

Maybe it's just my hands.  Mine are rather thin and small.  More for typing on a keyboard and playing instruments than hauling big heavy things around.  I'd be flat-out useless on a farm.

Well, i know you were depending on me for the embarrassing stories, but the thing is.....He was only about seven years old when i left home, and to be quite honest with you,  he has always been an exceptional little brother. (Don't tell him that!  ;) )  His moments probably happened around mama and daddy.  And even if they could tell you all about it right now, they probably wouldn't.  He was what my mama called a MIRACLE baby.  She prayed to be able to have him, so, you see, he has always been the light of our lives.  I know he is gonna read this, so when and if you ever see him, please overlook his BIG HEAD!!!  ;)

My parents single wide trailer has a sound system throughout it. You can tune in am and fm. Not sure if the cassette player still works or not. It's only 29 years old.
