I thought the Hemphills wrote that.  Or... well, I have a copy of Candy singing it anyway.
"Do you sing at church?"
"Yes I sing at church, I sing at home, at work, in the car, at the supermarket, at Wal-Mart..."

#452
Hearts beatin' a mile a minute but it's not from exercise
Livin' in a pressure cooker, a calm demeanor's no disguise
Got your nose in your checkbook, your measurement of earthly wealth
Why you worrying about tomorrow? Let tomorrow worry 'bout itself

It's just a drop. Oh, it's just a drop in the bucket

I see you working on a treadmill, running, staying in the same place
Not sure what you're running for, have you thought that maybe you're in the wrong race?
Running late, prime lending rate. Don't you think enough is enough?
Life is much too precious. Don't waste your time sweatin' small stuff

It's just a drop in the bucket
can't see the forest for the trees
Just a drop in the bucket
when you compare eternity

Knew a man named Johnny, trying hard to break a bent bow
He knows just where He's going, keeping all his ducks in a row
He says he couldn't be happier, but what about the price he paid?
Last time I saw Johnny he looked a bit old for his age

It's just a drop in the bucket
Can't see the forest for the trees
It's just a drop in the bucket
The view is much better on bended knee
It's just a drop in the bucket
Life is much more than what you see
It's just a drop in the bucket
When you compare eternity

Seek first His kingdom and His righteousness
And all these things you need He'll give to you
His yoke is easy and His burden is light
So let it go 'cause He knows what to do

If your life is looking stretched out your glasses probably need a new lens
The center gets a little hot when you try to burn the candle at both ends
So why you running up a stress test? It's either black or it's white
Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life?

It's just a drop in the bucket
Drop drop drop drop drop in the bucket

WELCOME TO THE CIRCUS

Welcome to the circus, welcome to the stage
We're about to raise the curtain, will you step into my cage?
We're looking for a volunteer, are you equal to the task?
If you don't want to face the music
You gotta always wear a mask

Sometimes you're a sinner, sometimes you're a saint
You make it look so easy by the pictures that you paint
It all depends who's watching you, how you will perform
Anyone can see it's just a cloud before the storm

But you won't get far
If you don't know who you are
Who are you?
Who will you be tonight, tonight
But you won't get far
If you don't know who you are
Who are you?
Who will you be toniiiiiiiiiight

Sometimes you're the strong man
You're so good at playing the clown
But once the spotlight finds you
It's too late to turn around
You can trick us with your painted smile
We'll all join in the fun
But when you face the music
Don't you know you're on your own

But you won't get far
If you don't know who you are
Who are you?
Who will you be tonight, tonight
But you won't get far
If you don't know who you are
Who are you?
Who will you be toniiiiiiiiiight

I love this song. All the praise singers and the congregation loves this song!

My pastor HATES that song. No idea why but sadly he does.  :smirk2:

It's amazing how a song can be just another song in my collection - until it's just the song I need at the moment.  I won't go into any details, but I really needed this song tonight.

Somebody told a lie about you
Said you did something you did not do
Somebody made others lose trust in you
Made you so bitter and made you so blue

Somebody spoke to you harsh and bluntly
They think you're not what you ought to be
Somebody feels you have done them great wrong
Caused you to cry and feel all alone

What if they nailed your flesh to a tree
Scourged you and mocked you mercilessly
Thorns on your brow, spear in your side
Hanging in shame alone to die
All this and more they did to my Lord
Still He could pray, still He could say
Father, forgive

Somebody waits in the dark all alone
Longing for love, needing a home
Somebody cries out desperately
Lord you know that somebody's me

Here at Your feet, Lord I kneel to pray
Fill me with Your holy spirit today
Take all the hate of this world out of me
I want a heart that forgives lovingly

For somebody nailed Your flesh to a tree
Scourged You and mocked You mercilessly
Thorns on Your brow, spear in Your side
Hanging in shame alone to die
Dying for me, setting me free
Now I can pray, now I can say
Father, forgive

It hurt a little - sometimes you just WANT to be mad - but I needed it.
"Do you sing at church?"
"Yes I sing at church, I sing at home, at work, in the car, at the supermarket, at Wal-Mart..."

The Purple Fuzzy

Kinda like scriptures, you can read them multiple times, then all of a sudden *BAM* one will stand out to you.

Lynx

But I didn't think it could be till it happened to me
You'll never know that it's true, till it happens to you

Lynx

Well I've heard people talking bout people
Most everywhere I go
To hear them tell it they were there when it happened
And there's nothing they don't know

Now I know people gonna talk about people
But if you're gonna talk about me
Make sure to tell someone who can do something 'bout it
And please do it on your knees

You can tell the Lord everything I've done
That didn't seem right to you
But don't tell your neighbor, cause he could never give me
The grace to see me through
You can tell Him all about how weak I am
And pray that He'll strengthen me
Yeah you can talk about me anytime you want to
But please do it on your knees
"Do you sing at church?"
"Yes I sing at church, I sing at home, at work, in the car, at the supermarket, at Wal-Mart..."

Peter and John saw while walking along
A lame man begging alms by the gate
Straightway they told, we've no silver or gold
But for you a great treasure awaits
Now such as I have give I thee, in the name
Of the Lord, rise up and walk
And be not amazed that a cripple was raised
It's through Jesus we do great things

Great things are in store for the child of the Lord
For you walk with the King of kings
And each word that you say when you kneel down to pray
Will be carried on the backs of angel wings
When you walk with Jesus
You're going to do great things

Now we have big dreams when we're younger it seems
Of a life where we do great things
But life finds a way of taking our dreams away
When our plans unravel at the seams
But though you feel small, in God's eyes you'll stand tall
If your footsteps are faithful and true
For the same power that raised Lazarus up from the grave
Is the same power that Jesus gives to you

Great things are in store for the child of the Lord
For you walk with the King of kings
And each word that you say when you kneel down to pray
Will be carried on the backs of angel wings
When you walk with Jesus
You're going to do great things

I won't worry if I'm never famous
Or for those worldly pleasures I've missed
Jesus gave me sweet peace like a river
Tell me what could be greater than this?
"Do you sing at church?"
"Yes I sing at church, I sing at home, at work, in the car, at the supermarket, at Wal-Mart..."
:sing: :sing: :sing: :sing: :sing: :sing:

Lynx

Well I live too loud and I talk too much
But somehow I don't see it as such
Seems like what I love the most
Is the sound of my own voice

I pray my list and I say my piece
I check You off but I'm incomplete
Seems like what I'm missing most
Is the sound of Your voice

So why is it so hard for me
To shut my mouth and let you speak
Why do I feel the need to always keep on talking
Well I know I need to hear from You
I know what I have got to do
To find what I've been missing
I've got to learn to listen

A wise man hears before he speaks
He knows he doesn't know everything
I wish that sounded more like me
But I have got so far to go

Why is my first reaction
To give my own opinion
Like I could tell You something
You don't already know
"Do you sing at church?"
"Yes I sing at church, I sing at home, at work, in the car, at the supermarket, at Wal-Mart..."

The Purple Fuzzy

"Where I Belong" by Building 429

Sometimes it feels like I'm watching from the outside
Sometimes it feels like I'm breathing but am I alive
I won't keep searching for answers that aren't here to find

All I know is I'm not home yet
This is not where I belong
Take this world and give me Jesus
This is not where I belong

So when the walls come falling down on me
And when I'm lost in the current of a raging sea
I have this blessed assurance holding me.

All I know is I'm not home yet
This is not where I belong
Take this world and give me Jesus
This is not where I belong

When the earth shakes I wanna be found in You
When the lights fade I wanna be found in You

All I know is I'm not home yet
This is not where I belong
Take this world and give me Jesus
This is not where I belong
[x2]

Where I belong, where I belong
Where I belong, where I belong

The Purple Fuzzy

"Help Me Find It"

I don't know where to go from here
It all used to seem so clear
I'm finding I can't do this on my own

I don't know where to go from here
As long as I know that You are near
I'm done fighting
I'm finally letting go

I will trust in You
You've never failed before
I will trust in You

[Chorus:]
If there's a road I should walk
Help me find it
If I need to be still
Give me peace for the moment
Whatever Your will
Whatever Your will
Can you help me find it
Can you help me find it

I'm giving You fear and You give faith
I giving you doubt
You give me grace
For every step I've never been alone

Even when it hurts, You'll have Your way
Even in the valley I will say
With every breath
You've never let me go

I will wait for You
You've never failed before
I will wait for You

[Chorus]

I lift my empty hands (come fill me up again)
Have Your way my King (I give my all to You)
I lift my eyes again (Was blind but now I see)
'Cause You are all I need

[Chorus]

We sang this at church sometime in the past week or so. It's been stuck in my head since then.

They have more monitors on the steps alone than we have speakers in our whole church.   :o  Talk about a wall-of-sound effect...

The Purple Fuzzy

Jesus friend of sinners by casting crowns

Jesus, friend of sinners
We have strayed so far away
We cut down people in your name
But the sword was never ours to swing

Jesus, friend of sinners
The truth's become so hard to see
The world is on their way to You
But they're tripping over me

Always looking around but never looking up
I'm so double minded
A plank eyed saint with dirty hands
And a heart divided

Oh Jesus, friend of sinners
Open our eyes to world
At the end of our pointing fingers
Let our hearts be led by mercy

Help us reach with open hearts
And open doors
Oh Jesus, friend of sinners
Break our hearts for what breaks Yours, yeah

Jesus, friend of sinners
The one who's writing in the sand
Make the righteous turn away
And the stones fall from their hands

Help us to remember
We are all the least of thieves
Let the memory of Your mercy
Bring Your people to their knees

No one knows what we're for only against
When we judge the wounded
What if we put down our signs crossed
Over the lines and loved like You did

Oh Jesus, friend of sinners
Open our eyes to world
[From: http://www.elyrics.net ]
At the end of our pointing fingers
Let our hearts be led by mercy

Help us reach with open hearts
And open doors
Oh Jesus, friend of sinners
Break our hearts for what breaks Yours

You love every lost
'Cause you reach for the outcast
For the leper and the lame
They're the reason that You came

Lord, I was that lost
'Cause and I was the outcast
But you died for sinners just like me
A grateful leper at Your feet

'Cause You are good, You are good
And Your love endures forever
You are good, You are good
And Your love endures forever

You are good, You are good
And Your love endures forever
You are good, You are good
And Your love endures forever

Oh Jesus, friend of sinners
Open our eyes to world
At the end of our pointing fingers
Let our hearts be led by mercy

Help us reach with open hearts
And open doors
Oh Jesus, friend of sinners
Break our hearts for what breaks Yours

And I was the lost
'Cause and I was the outcast, yeah
You died for sinners just like me
A grateful leper at Your feet

He came looking for me
He came looking for me
He made a way
When there was no way
That I could see
When I drifted far Jesus was near
To rescue my soul
And calm all my fear
Now I'm safe from all harm
Since I met the one
Who came looking for me
Eternity is too long to be wrong!

Another sign that the end of the world is upon us - I found a christian rap song I like.

I expect airports all over the world to shut down at any moment due to pigs clogging the airways. Isaac likes a christian rap song.

When you say "Jesus" you've said everything.

Lynx

I saw the face of Jesus in a little orphan girl
She was standing in the corner on the other side of the world
And I heard the voice of Jesus gently whisper to my heart
Didn't you say you wanted to find Me?
Well here I am, here you are
So what now?

What will you do now that you found Me?
What now?
What will you do with this treasure you've found?
I know I may not look like what you expected
But if you remember this is right where I said I would be
You've found Me
What now?

And I saw the face of Jesus down on Sixteenth Avenue
He was sleeping in an old car, while his mom went looking for food
And I heard the voice of Jesus gently whisper to my soul
Didn't you say you wanted to know Me?
Well here I am, and it's getting cold
So, what now?

What will you do now that you found Me?
What now?
What will you do with this treasure you've found?
I know I may not look like what you expected
But if you remember this is right where I said I would be
You've found Me
What now?

Sometimes it takes a storm
To know you need shelter
When the anchors of your life
Disappear without a trace
And sometimes the wind will rage
Before you'll sail calm waters
Sometimes it takes a storm
To find a higher place
"Do you sing at church?"
"Yes I sing at church, I sing at home, at work, in the car, at the supermarket, at Wal-Mart..."
