I bet you'd look like a drowned purple rat if you got out in it. Something I'd pay to see. :ugly:
Today I have saw 3 clients. Two of them have been backsliders. Sad that they screwed up their lives bad enough to have to see me professionally, but since they are a captive audience, they definately got an invite back to where they belong....

We head home tomorrow. Back to the stressful life and I start my 2nd job next week.

Pray for Sis Mary Fields family. She passed away this morning after a long, hard fight with cancer. She will be dearly missed at church and in life. She was literally the eyes for her husband who is a blind preacher at our church.

:hi: Cleaned part of the shop up today. Got stung on the back by one of those wretched demonic yellow jackets that showed up unexpectedly. It still hurts and that was before ten this morning. :pound:
Cody came over and got Rusty fixed. Lord, it's good to have him back. The corvette, though- well, it's likely that it's problem is a collapsed lifter and will be something that will likely have to wait until after tax time. Not what I was hoping for. I get it fixed, it's gone. I'm gonna trade it off. No tolerance for something that gives me a headache when it is treated like a jewel.

I found that sirloin was on sale for $5.99 a lb at my local butcher, so I bought a couple and threw them on the grill tonight. Dinner was goooood.. :fork:

We are back home. Living off of leftover snack food from vacation. I have no idea how we are gonna budget to eat and get to school and back. Probably shouldn't have even gone on vacation but we had already sunk money into the condo we wouldn't get back and we desperately needed some down time.

Today is church and a lot of homework. Back to my work study job and classes tomorrow. Have to leave my one class early for the funeral. Tuesday is orientation for my 2nd job, classes, and my start day for it. Dad goes this week for another CT scan to determine if he can do radiation or if we will be stuck in a holding pattern and praying his tumors don't start to grow again.

Ugh. Lord, It's definately Monday...:pound:
So much to do- Petitions to Revoke to write, home visits to conduct, people to see.....
But when I get home tonight, I think I'm gonna take Rusty for a cruise. Just to unwind.
And in the meantime, I picked up Brad Paisley's guitar musical album "PLAY" at Hasting this weekend for like $3 because they are closing. I'm listening to it to make the day better.  :P

I have never been to a more joyful funeral in my entire life. Tears were shed of course but it's not every day that the pastor's wife sticks  a pink flamingo in the casket bouquet and the husband of the deceased starts shoutin and singing 'How Great Thou Art'. Sis Mary was the definition of a prayer warrior and had a truly remarkable heart. She will be greatly missed but oh how much rejoicing is going on over there.

Pastor took his family and a few of us straglers out to lunch. Our budget is beyond squeezed this week so I was just thankful for a free meal. Then as I was leaving my pastors wife told me to come to here house anytime for grilled cheese and slipped me some money. It is truly the little things in life that mean the most.

Now I'm home and getting ready to dive into homework. Tomorrow begins my 2nd job and hopefully they will let me go a bit early so I can make our monthly ladies meeting.

[kvetch]
Stupid US government, in their infinite wisdom, imported coyote to this area to take care of the rabbit problem. Now we have a growing coyote problem. RABBITS DON'T EAT PETS! Rabbits were fine, they weren't harming anything except maybe a garden or two. Coyote are a menace!

This is not the only time our all-wise, all-knowing government has meddled with an ecosystem they didn't understand. Remember kudzu? Remember the asian "painted lady" beetles? Yeah, we're still having trouble with them too. Remember the asian carp that are threatening to invade the great lakes?

What brings this up? I woke up this morning and my two kittens who never go more than 20 yards from the carport were missing. Came home from work, they were still missing. Walked around, looked in trees, looked under the house, they're just gone. And the coyote have been howling rather much the last couple of weeks.

Stupid idiots meddling with something they will never comprehend, and we have to deal with the results. Thanks a lot. Next ecosystem problem comes up, let us handle it ourselves - that is, if we can spare the time from battling the junk you already dumped on us.

And I assumed coyotes were native to tennesee. We've had 'em in Arkansas forever I guess..
Court day- I've had to dress in dressclothes complete with a necktie today. NOT my favorite thing. The bright side is lunch will likely be at one of my favorite hole in the wall dives...:fork:

The summer lover in me is enjoying the warmth. The part of me that actually likes winter, now that I don't have to drive 120 miles a day in its yucky weather, is looking forward to snow.
I have done a ton of work already today.. even got an attaboy from my boss for my documentation on a case that she had reveiwed. And even more rewarding thatn that, I took my wife out to dinner at Church Street( a local hole in the wall with awesome ribs on wednesdays) for our weekly dinner. What made it even more rewarding is because I took pictures of the ribs and texted them to Mini and another rib loving friend that knows about Church Street. While they drooled from afar, I ate. :hypocrite:
'Twas grand.

Back at work. A friend sent me a nice meme along the lines of "Hoping the floodgates of heaven opens and showers you with blessings today". I told him to shove his sweet little meme sideways.
Why? Because today is the one day out of six months that I have to stand in a cow pasture and point guns at paper men who have done nothing to me. And his "floodgates of heaven" apparently is releasing liquid sunshine, so I'll be wet and miserable. Bah.

Dear Lord. A local school, attended by kids of mostly Italian descent, have been selling fresh pizzas as a fundraiser. Homemade sauce, homemade Crust, Petit Jean meats and tons of cheese. A lady I work with has a kiddo there, so I bought two pizzas to help the school. Worse thing possible for my diet. I ate half a pizza. Best pizza I have EVER ate...

Excellent service this morning. 4 baptized in Jesus Name and 3 filled with the Holy Ghost. We have a handful of people who are wanting to be baptized next week too. Didn't get the memo that there was dinner after service for Pastor appreciation but was grateful to not have to eat potatos or noodles for at least 1 day. We are skimming the bottom this week. As in I'm not sure how we are going to get to school thursday [or possibly even wednesday too] because we will be out of gas and the money is already gone.

I just want to take a beloved Sunday after church nap but I put off homework all weekend. Should know better by now but alas.

ps-Mel, I miss you.

I'm over everyone.

My father in law was gracious enough to give us a bit of money for gas and groceries. Husband spent it on a little bit of gas and cigarettes.

My parents are completely up in arms about a pressure washer that my mamaw thought was broke so she gave it to my dad. My dad couldn't fix it so he gave it to Brandon. Brandon fixed it so we were letting out neighbor use it and now my dad [and mom] is super mad at me that I didn't take it to my mamaw's house this past weekend. Don't worry, I'm confused too.

Heather, that sounds like something my family would pull...
And  today was great. A vacation day. I had a pleasant breakfast with an old friend, then took Rusty steam engine chasing and got a decent pic of him and Union Pacific's steam engine #844.
Then I came home and hauled off old tvs and loaded a truckload of metal to go to the scrap yard tomorrow- also a vacation day- and have plans to clean out my storage room and finish loading a trailer with stuff for the dump, since this weekend is free dump week at the local dump, county wide fall cleanup..

My husband has been in Nevada with his Navy brother for this past week on an elk hunt (he was elk watching).

I've been home working and tending to our three pets, one of which is Trigger (our black lab).  He's been on a downward slope health-wise in the last year, and this past week has been the worst. When Jeremy gets home Saturday, we plan to spend our weekend with Trigger and then come Monday, unless some miracle happens, Trigger's making his trek to the vet for his final nap. His quality of life is low now and is getting increasingly lower with each day. It's been a very hard week for all of us.

So my computer, my BEST laptop, has begun overheating. It always had a bad problem with heat and apparently the overworked fan is finally giving out. I could replace the fan, but... I should have gotten a ThinkPad. I thought I could get away with an ASUS because ASUS is fairly good, but I knew I should have gotten a ThinkPad. Every ThinkPad I ever bought is still running fine.

I am considering hiring a team of mutant gorillas to smash this laptop until it is in 187,492 pieces. They will be given orders to not stop smashing until it is in the required number of pieces. Then I might burn the pieces.

Sad about Trigger. It's a shame dogs can't live as long as humans.

Then again, I remember some of the humans I know and sometimes it's a shame some humans live as long as they do...

Never mind, I didn't say that, you didn't see that, move along.

I've got an old Compaq I think, that has that same problem. I bought one of those laptop desk things with a fan built in. Situated just right, it provides enough airflow that the 'puter works well..I use it in the ham room, not mobile, so that works fine. My mobile/best computer is currently a ASUS. I like it, except for Windows 10, which I still dislike greatly.

ASUS is usually good, which is why I got this one. Well... that and the i7 processor and 8 gigs ram, which at the time was pretty sweet for the price.

Compaq is a rebranded HP and just as prone to hardware failure.

I was dealing with a friend's laptop just this week and it turned out to have an overheat problem too. Maybe it's contagious!  But my ThinkPads seem to be immune. Maybe they were vaccinated.

Trigger got to make his own way out. He passed away on Friday while I was at work. We will be taking down his pen this week and re-purposing the fencing into planters for a proper house-type memorial. Tough, but we have good memories too!

On another note, I'm glad my husband's finally home from Nevada!

For once I wish we had a formal lease agreement in our current living situation. We were told when we moved in that the lady was our landlord and everything to do with the house would go through her. She has had us do odd jobs here and there to help cover the cost of our rent and to help her out. Now her husband has messaged me asking where the rent is when we have worked for her for it. It gets to confusing that we aren't sure what we owe when. Starting in November, we are going to keep a running tally on a sheet of paper by our door what is going on. If we have to go the route that whomever initials it when anything is done, so be it. I've got enough stress to deal with without adding their miscommunications into it.

Harvest Party at church tonight which has had a wrench thrown into it because the pastor's son [who isn't currently in church] has decided to marry his baby-momma tonight in the pastor's front lawn. All I know is there is free food and I only have $27 to last me til November 15th.

Nothing new to report sir.

Except I just insulted a computer. The replacement for this overheating computer is on its way, but in the meantime this ASUS shut down in the middle of a comic strip. In a rather saccharine I said to it, "That's okay, get some rest. I'll use a real computer." And I turned to use my ThinkPad.

I just found out that if a pair of eyeglasses has lost a nose piece on one side, the tip of a foam earplug and some superglue makes everything all better. I might rip off the nose piece on the other side and do the same thing.

Alan Grimsley bought an SUV last year. Three months later there was an SUV hit-and-run incident on the road he lives on. Did Alan Grimsley commit murder? Could you vote for a murderer?

Vote for Ronald Thorne, a candidate who has never been accused of vehicular homicide.

Alan Grimsley recently sued Ronald Thorne for saying he committed murder. Yet Alan Grimsley voted against frivolous lawsuits. Does that make Alan Grimsley a hypocrite? Could you vote for a hypocrite?

Vote for Ronald Thorne, a candidate who has never sued anybody for saying he committed murder.

Actually that is pretty mild compared to the real political ads they are playing this year. :-/

We have had no rain in quite a while. Not that I'm complaining at this point though. It's been nice out. A bit warm, but nice. Today is a sad day. One of my coworkers who has been here over 30 years is retiring, as I think I've mentioned before. Today is her last day.. she's really been a help to me since I got the job, and has been a friend since I worked for the police department years ago. I'm gonna miss her.

Made it through the day. My agency has communication issues. Even though I'd heard through the grapevine I'd get the office truck for a company vehicle, they failed to tell me until.....428 pm. I don't think even someone like me that lives in an alternate world 90 percent of the time could pull that off.

And I also got a backhanded compliment from my boss yesterday. They recently gave me 20 sex offenders to supervise....something I did NOT want, in any way shape or form. Their crimes disturb me, and they take a lot more watching to be sure they don't reoffend.
She and I were discussing this, and she said "Well, you got them because you are so detailed in your reports on visits and stuff. I need someone detailed with them." Then she laughed and said, "Yeah, I know, that's kinda like punishing you for doing a good job, but that's the way it is."

I decided that as much as I hate dealing with sex offenders, I'd at least take that as confirmation that I'm doing a good job.

And in sharing today- I woke up this morning early for a Saturday-8 am. My shoulder was hurting too bad to sleep. Part of getting old I guess. I've cleaned the inside of the house for lou, and I'm fixing to put a meatloaf on to smoke. Lou usually doesn't care for meatloaf, but even she likes the smoked meatloaf's I've made.

Best I can tell is I've pulled something in it. An actual diagnosis would require money which we laughably are short on. I have slight swelling, a nice blue bruise, and it twinges something awful when moved in certain directions.

I should be doing homework, but whats the point. I'm getting kicked out of school at the end of this semester for $281. So, eh.

Brandon is getting promoted and moved to full-time at AZ. I'm going to try to get a seasonal job that will hopefully translate into post-holiday work as well.

Pray for us.

Sorry about your problems, heather...

And Isaac, my version of a smoked meatloaf is this- hamburger meat ( if you have it, a lb of deer or pork sausage mixed with 2 lbs of ground beef is good- if not you can just use ground beef), crackers (crushed), onion, three or four eggs, minced garlic, seasonings, usually bbq rub that I always have around in addition to parsley, salt, pepper, ect. , and bbq sauce. My mama's meatloafs always were made with ketchup mixed into the meat mixture, so I replace the ketchup with a good thick sweet bbq sauce . Mix it together well.

I roll out some tinfoil, putting some small slits in it for the meatloaf to drain because it'll be afloat in grease if you don't. Don't completely wrap the meatloaf with tinfoil, you want the smoke to permeate the meat. Then, I crisscross a good quality bacon-petit jean  brand mostly, into a blanket- -lay the meat mixture on it shaped into a loaf, and cover it with another "blanket" of bacon. Sprinkle it again with bbq rub..lay 5 or 6 circles of sliced onion on top.
Then I put it in the smoker at 250 degrees or so over hickory. About an hour to an hour and a half into the cook, I slather Sweet Baby Ray's bbq sauce over it liberally, and let it continue to smoke. Somewhere around two hours to two and a half hours, it'll be done..

Let it cool, and slice it as normal. It is amazing. I usually serve it with smoked corn on the cob, baked beans, and fried tators. Biggest issue is that you wanna eat it all yourself. It has a really amazing smoky flavor that doesn't overpower the spices.

There's a sure cure for the wanting-to-eat-it-all-yourself bit. Make three times as much. Then you CAN eat it all, and everyone else will still get some. :D :D :D

Um... that probably didn't help at all.  Sorry.

You have a bbq grill, right Isaac?

Just Google "how to use a bbq grill as a smoker" pick one that best suits your situation and do that. I've done it with my tiny charcoal grill. I bought some wood chips, and some cheap aluminum pans from dollar tree that I could poke holes into and I had a makeshift smoker that did the job.

Try that.

Now i gotta smoke a meatloaf soon. That sounds amazing.

I agree with Mel. Get a grill of some sort. As much as you like to cook, it will open up a world of possibilities.

I like cooking over wood, rather than charcoal. It's a brand new world of flavor.

We haven't got but a sprinkling....
And yes,Isaac, you need a grill. I like cooking over wood too, but will grill with charcoal. As far as smoking- well, my smoker is a cheap $159 Walmart special, electric, but it uses wood to produce the smoke. Just a little pan of wood chips that is set directly on an electric heating element, much like an electric oven's element..

In Linux when I set up a new system I open the package manager, make a shopping list of all the programs I want and hit "Apply." It downloads all the files, installs everything and I'm ready to rock.

In Windows I have to install every program I want one at a time. Bleh.

Not so much the ankle now as it is the foot that is hurting.

Since my sister is now a state employee she has friday off and is planning on coming home. Hopefully she'll go with me to see my friend's band play. I still have yet to be able to make it and her best friend will likely be there as her fiance is in the same band.

Today is my friday!

I hate that my veteran husband doesn't get tomorrow off, but we are planning a special lunch date and dinner date (dinner's on the restaurant!). I love that restaurants are giving free items/meals to veterans. Small gesture, but it makes a difference! :)

Tomorrow I plan on doing laundry.. boooo. My house has to be ship-shape before my family comes after Christmas. My brother is the definition of clean freak, haha. Thankfully there aren't enough bedrooms in our home for everyone, so no one will be staying here! I'm glad this house finally did me a solid! HAHA..

Jeremy (dear husband) is picking up Trigger from the vet today. I'm kinda glad I won't be able to ride along, I think it'll give Jeremy some time to properly mourn WITH Trigger even though Trigger isn't fully present with him. I hope it helps him.

Ive been so tired this week that I actually nodded off in class yesterday. Sheesh.

Weekend off. Today will be homework and cleaning. Tomorrow will be church and going to my friend's house afterward to do laundry. I live an exciting life.

Dad starts radiation Monday. Pray for him and pray for their finances. His car loan sold him bogus disability insurance when he purchased the car over a year ago. Now they won't pay and are threatening to take him car. I'm glad Scion went out of business. Jerks.

Brandon's immediate manager has been in the hospital for a couple weeks. Keep a guy by the name of Chris Brooks in your prayers. He's currently in ICU. However, the car parts must keep being delivered at AZ and Brandon is getting a promotion, raise, and health insurance within the next week to take Chris' spot. If/When Chris comes back, they will be sharing the spot but both will get to keep hours, etc.

Some android smartphones have a removable battery. If it dies you can pop it out and replace it. Or keep a couple of spare charged batteries in the car console for if your phone runs low and it's not convenient to charge it.

I had sinus junk all night last night. The sleep I did get, I must have been snoring like a whole herd of lumberjacks with chainsaws, because every time I woke up my throat was sore.

In other news, have you ever fixed a computer by accident? My aunt Diane brought a laptop over, said Windoze wouldn't boot for nothing. I booted from a Linux flash drive I keep on hand to check the hard drive. Hard drive looked okay so I rebooted to Windoze to see what the symptoms were... and it booted right up.

"How did you do that?"

"Beats me."

I've got an LG G3. It's roughly 2 years old. I just had to replace my laptop battery this year too.

One of my professors actually forbid me from coming to class today which gives me a bit of a break. I don't have to be to campus until 3 for honor society induction ceremony and class. I may even make it to church tonight on a wednesday  :o  I think the last midweek service i made it to was sometime this summer.

My eyes have burned now for almost a week due to the forest fires we have going on. The sky has been so incredibly smokey.

Just got back in from West Memphis. Lord, what a drive. Entirely too many semis on that stretch of road too. And the offender rattled the whole way. Lord, I wanted to duct tape his mouth. And as late as it is, by the time I got back to church it'd be over.

On the bright side, I got told by my boss that I HAVE to take some time off. As in, I have too much comp and vacation time on the books and need to take off with pay. It's a nice problem to have.

"I feel like crud today."

Actually I do feel like crud. It's not a cold, not the flu, but my throat hurts and discretionary energy expenditure is down 60%. I've had this before, but I never have figured out if this is what they call strep throat. Probably not - from what I hear, strep throat is much worse than this.

I didn't make it to church. Forgot that after the ceremony and class they had free food through the department for the notable women award ceremony. I'm not going to pass up free food. What was only supposed to be an hour long program ended up being over 2 hours because one of the recipients droned well over her 30 minute limit.

I did however finally sleep more than 3 hours last night so that was good. Mom was on dad's radiation duty this morning.

It's the "droning" time of year for folks that apparently get to speak publically rarely. :smirk:

I got home and put on a pork loin in the smoker. Basted it in a couple different flavors of mustard and of course, wrapped it in bacon. We shall see how it tastes. It's cheap and good, and it's not red meat, which is why I cook so much pork, but I'm running out of ways to prepare it.

:o Lord, I must be on the ragged end of it then..
It seems like this year especially has flown by. And yeah, Thanksgiving is right here. A 4 day week end. :P  I think we are going to cook a nice ham and make dressing, ect...we have three elderly widows in our church whose families are out of town and usually only make it in for Christmas. They usually stay at home, alone. So I think we are going to have them out for dinner before Lou has to go to work that evening..

She's working Thanksgiving? Is she going to be one of the employees who stands guard over the Black Friday stuff (that they start selling at 6pm Thursday) with a box cutter, and dramatically cut the cling wrap off at 6pm sharp?

And then clean up the mess the rampaging hordes leave in their wake...

Close. She's running the front end, managing the chaos at the point they pay for the deals. She's done it for years....I'm proud of her. It says a lot when they demand that you are the front end manager on the busiest day of the year "because we need our best" on the point of sale. Out of 10 different managers they could select for that day, she's the one every year because they know she runs a tight ship and keeps it running as smoothly as it can.

Popularity is such a burden. Also popularity is stressful. But it's good they have someone who actually cares about doing her job to be in charge on hectic days.

And it's a good thing she has a former police officer for a husband. You can supply the basic necessities: Body armor, riot shield, kick taser...

Kinda reminds me of days at work when we're expecting a corporate visit. They always schedule the A-team crew members on those days. Certain employees gloat about not having to work that day. I don't say it, but I'm thinking it - "Yeah there's a reason you're not working that day. You don't give a flying flitter how you do your job."

Good Morning. May the Coffee Fairy bless you abundantly and the  (C)rap fairy lose your address.
'Cause he ain't lost mine.
I won Parole Bingo this weekend- Three of my wayward children got arrested in three different counties. My wife is unhappy with me because I told her "no" on something budget related.
Like everyone, I have bills and a dislike of the upcoming holidays- even more so this week as it's the 7th anniversary of my Daddy's death, which tends to jack with me negatively.
In short- I could eagerly choke the living mess out of someone just for the relief it would bring me.
Despite all, I'm blessed and I know it. I'm just having to remind myself of it right now...:pound:

Oh, yeah, did I mention I have a headache AND the scale showed a weight gain this morning?!? :pound: :pound:

You should have been here last night Bobby. Community Thanksgiving service, and this year it was held at our church, with finger food supper following. I rationalized that a crock pot of cheese dip and a crock pot of chili would be finger foods if I threw in a few bags of fritos and doritos. Apparently the crowd agreed and I have no leftovers for breakfast this morning.

Never made cheese dip before... I took a two pound block of cheddar for flavor and a stick of velveeta for emulsification (melting smoothly) and added some spanish rice and diced peppers. It came out a bit thick so I stirred in some buttermilk until it was about the right consistency. I have no idea if that's the right way to make cheese dip, but it worked. Sure was better than that stuff that people just throw in a can of rotel and call it done.

Had an embarrassing moment this evening...goofed around and had realized that I had missed making a phone payment last month, and wrote down a double bill payment. But in a moment of mindblowing stupidity failed to actually make the payment. I've done that kinda thing before usually when I am stressed and busy, but this time I completely forgot it. Phone was shut off. First time in my adult life we've have a utility shut off. It was off for a couple hours before I discovered it and paid it. Lord, I felt like an idiot.
If I hadn't remembered it at all, I don't think it'd have been as bad as discovering I wrote it down but didn't follow through.

Been a busy couple of days. Work, work, and more work. Then two nights ago, I put snickerdoodle cookies in the oven- and it no workie right. I raved and ranted, shuffled budget items, and prepared to go buy a new range. Tried to be thankful that we COULD actually buy a cheap range, all the while fuming about the damage it was gonna do to my plans, especially right at Thanksgiving and Christmas.
While I'm looking online for the cheapest price, knowing that I wouldn't be buying a glass top range like I wanted, couldn't afford it, but a cheapie coil burner again, (which ticked me off even more, because with a new coil burner I couldn't justify the upgrade to a glass top) Lou looks at a facebook swap site. A friend posted an electric range literally seconds before she opened the site. She messaged back and forth- long story short, we bought a range, approximately two years old, for $100. It was not a cheapie. It is a GE glasstop, self cleaning oven, timers, all the bells and whistles. Probably a $450-600 stove new. Exactly what we wanted AND it was white to match our fridge.
I am amazed at God's faithfulness. It HAD to be God. At that price it would have been gone in no time- in fact after Lou messaged her, there were at least three more people contacting her. Yet, thanks to the Master, the woman posted it EXACTLY when Lou opened that site.

I've already baked a caramel-apple cheesecake and a Buttermilk Pie in it tonight, and have a ham covered in brown sugar, pineapples and cherries sitting in the oven waiting to be baked tomorrow morning. :fork:

I'm pretty sure the end is nigh and we all better be right with Jesus.

I went to Brandon's mom's family's get-together this afternoon. They were all really nice to me and I would even branch out and say I had a good time It was weird.

Then we went to my mamaw's......and she dropped the bomb on us. Her and her fiancee [who have been together for 40 years even while both of them were still married] have seperated and he has moved back toward Richlands. There is a God and He loves me y'all. Seriously. Jesus is coming.

And in sharing, while I've got the washing maching out of it's closet, I'm gonna cut the sheetrock and investigate wether it will be possible to cut a door in the wall between the closet and the carport room. If it is something I can do- no water pipes and the like in the wall- I'm gonna put a doorway in there and move the dryer into the carport room. Since we have finally figured out where the money is coming from, I get to register mid-week this week for next semester. Due to the 'not sure what's going on' phase, I seriously slacked on my school work. I have a research paper due on Thursday that I've done NOTHING for. But I busted my tail and got everything else done so that's all I have to concentrate on this weekend.

We also made the decision that I will only hold 1 job next semester. Brandon is getting a significant raise and he was the one who actuallly brought up my not over-working. I could seriously graduate with honors. That's crazy.

And a follow up to sharing- no door to the carport room. I cut a small "door" to check-got a vent pipe running right in the middle of the only place the door could go, and it doesn't appear to be easily movable. Oh well. Less work for me.

Hearing that the fire in Gatlinburg is getting real bad..:sadbounce:
Been a busy day today. One of my coworkers who is a very close friend needs prayer. She started having problems a week or so ago when her mama had a heart attack and surgery...then her elderly aunt, who has dementia, wandered off from her cousins, and hasn't been found. Then this morning, she awakens at 2 am to her husband apparently having a seizure, called Medical personnel and he was transported to a Little Rock Hospital where he's in intensive care and they are saying that he might not - likely won't- pull through. If all of this isn't bad enough, while following the ambulance to the hospital, her car quit, possibly blowing a headgasket. Breaks my heart- all I can offer to do is pray.

The entire Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge, Sevier County area needs prayer. Thankfully today is supposed to be a pretty steady rainfall. There is a professor in my department who is fro Gatlinburg. The family land/home she grew up in and owns is gone. There are conflicting reports as to what has and hasn't been destroyed. Lots of people looking for family they can't find. Most of our local fire departments have sent people to help. Lots of locals have opened their barns, fields and stables for misplaced livestock and horses.

Got into my last 2 classes. 6 classes in total and Ive decided to at least work 3-6 hours at my 2nd job. I know it sounds terrible but I can't trust Brandon to keep us going financially. He got paid on Friday and already as of yesterday he had bounced his bank account. I'm just thankful I decided to be stubborn and keep 2 seperate accounts.

I'm 3 papers and 3 tests from the end of the semester. Just hope I can get there.

Was too busy to do much of anything not work related today.  Around here, holidays are when the prison system tries to "kick out" prisoners for good behavior that have non-violent offenses. And for every one released, we gotta call their "Residence offer", do a home visit, and complete several pages of paperwork. Then when they get out, it's another dozen pages of paperwork. We're averaging ten new cases on top of our caseloads a week...just on the "kick out".
I used to fear I would die from a stabbing or a shooting, if not disease from a HIV positive crackhead. Now- I fear a terminal papercut.

Just saw an ambulance across the street and a couple of doors down. I wish I had a scanner sometimes. So many departments are going digital now that we got rid of the one we had a few years ago.

Bobby: for some reason I'm reminded of an O. Henry story, "The Cop and the Anthem" where the main character is a hobo who is trying to commit a crime so they will send him to prison for three months. It's his winter migration, the way he survives the cold months. He doesn't want to do anything too bad to get locked up for a long time, just something bad enough to get three months jail time.

Kinda the opposite of your prison kick-out.

I don't even wanna think of college papers...
I've done so much justice system paperwork lately, I'm afraid if Bro Wilson asks me to speak at church all I will be able to say is  " John Doe was placed on supervision 10-29-2014, with the special conditions of....." :laughhard:
And in sharing, we had a scare with Daisy , our littlest Chihuahua last night.  She was sitting on my shoulder and Chey was playing with her. Chey bent her head down, and Daisy grabbed at Chey's hair. Chey "popped" her hair back quickly, and little Daisy had gotten a mouthful and weighing around a pound, went airborne across the room and hit the concrete floor. Hard.
It hurt her. I thought it'd killed her. She couldn't walk straight, her pupils dialated...pretty sure it was a concussion. We calmed her down, wrapped her up and held her tight praying for her. I told Lou if she wasn't okay this morning, we'd take her to the vet. This morning she was in full battle mode, biting toes and acting like nothing was ever wrong. Thank God- we've became really attached to her, and Chey cried herself to sleep last night afraid she'd really hurt Daisy.

Sounds like Daisy needs a rope to play tug-of-war with. My dog, being an australian shepherd, has no interest in such things but we used to have a dog that loved to hang onto a rope while you tried to get it away from him. I admired his jaw strength and dentition.

We found out yesterday Brandon's grandma has stage 4 lung cancer. As she is in her 80's, she has opted to not seek further treatment. Brandon has mixed feelings about the entire situation because he hasn't had the best relationship with her but she's still his grandma.

Things have been super tense for us anyway. We are having issues still. I'm seeking counseling as of this coming week which will eventually transition into couples counseling for both of us.

Wish we'd have been there to hear her. We JUST woke up. Sundays are great for sleeping in when you don't have church until 5. I haven't been around my phone all weekend and it's been great. Of course, except for a run to Walmart late last night for hoagie buns to make meatball sandwiches with, I haven't left the house either. It's could and damp here- perfect weekend to read. So  did. After I 1)fixed the washing machine 2) made and covered in padded vinyl a footboard for Mine and Lou's bed and 3) Cooked.
And I finally ordered the parts for the 'vette, so hopefully it'll be back on the road soon.
And, we've been fighting illness here too. None of us feels worth a flip. And I just got a text wanting me to teach sunday school when I was considering staying home.

Finally got to make it back to church after a few weeks missing due to school. I've been so stressed out. Dad, Brandon, school, finances. I'm not sleeping. I'm over-eating. It's getting ridiculous. This morning was one of those services where Jesus just told Bro Ketron everything I was going through and he [and He] just laid it all out there. The message was directly for me. Also the pastor's wife [the best one ever!] is taking me out to dinner tomorrow to catch up on what all is going on. She's been like a 2nd mom to me for almost 16 years and I've completely shut her out of everything too.

I've been cleaning house, reading my bible, and even did a work out. I SHOULD be working on my last paper and studying, but alas. Dinner then I'll start that.

Found out yesterday that my job will hopefully go through this Friday which will be 15 more hours of pay.

Dinner with Sister Ketron was exactly what my soul needed.

Now to FINALLY write this blasted paper!

Babs, your sugar gliders seem to be busy. You may need to have 'the talk' with them. Hehe.

Brandon is officially done with his undergraduate degree. I have 1 more final [which is a complete joke and will be a waste of my time] tomorrow.

We are definitely working through Friday so at least I'll get 18 hours of pay on my check instead of 6.

Brandon and I are going to live wild today and go on a lunch date since someone from the church blessed us with some money and told us we HAD to use it on us and not on bills.

Made it through the day, came home to peace and quiet as the wife was at the church helping with peanut brittle. Then my peaceful evening was shattered when I was called back to work to deal with some necessary paperwork a coworker had forgotten to do...
I just got back home at 1030 and back to work tomorrow.....

People can scoff and mock meeting people via internet all they want...so far, of all the people I have met in person, after meeting online, I have yet to have a bad experience. And I've met about 30 over the years.

It's ok Mel, you can tell everyone the truth about me. Hehehe. ps-I'm looking at a long weekend in February or March to come visit again. Hopefully Brandon will be able to come this time.

I finished the semester with 4 A's and 1 A-. 2 of those replaced previous F's so it jumped my GPA to 3.42. I'm so close to jumping up to honors. I have 2 more years to do that.

Went to my first counseling session. What a load of malarky. I got more out of sitting down to dinner and talk to my Pastor's wife. She started off by making fun of pentecostals, then proceeded to tell me how terrible my parents are [which I am fully aware of], then kept questioning why I stayed with my husband.   I don't even have crazy hair right now and of course I stayed with my husband!! Geez.

Hello. And Mel, I'm with you on the friends met online thing. The people I've met here have become some of my best friends, with a couple crossing the line into family, in my book.
And I don't understand why Cheese and some of the others don't take a minute or two every week or so. This is one of the few places in life I actually stay in touch with, and it's because it's my "safe place"....somewhere I can be me, be transparent, and know people won't judge but will pray for me. I assumed everyone needs such a place. But then again I could be just weird..

Which one of you (more so than me) Northerners ordered this cold air and white looking stuff? It tried to come down some yesterday, but only a teensy amount stuck. Whew! Now if the winds could just 'chill' out, I'd be able to accept this coldness.

This time of year, I almost can't stand working every day! I want to sit at home under a blanket, (if I had one up) look at a tree, and watch Hallmark Christmas movies!

I've been desperately trying to catch up on our church books so that I don't have any all nighters in January to get the donation lists out. I meant to do these as I went along month-by-month, and... time seems to just slip away from you if you don't keep a tight hold on it.

I've had my Christmas shopping done for a little while now, but I have yet to wrap one single present, haha. We have our Christmas program at church this Sunday, so I will have to wrap the sunday school kids presents this week(end) sometime. Hopefully that will kick-start my own personal wrapping.

There are always layers Roscoe. Hehe. A relatively new convert at church was complaining about the cold. I jokingly told her to stop to complaining because when i got into church 16 years ago there weren't even fleece lined leggings around. The pastor's wife completely cracked up and said 'what did we even do before leggings'. Lol.

On the same note, I joined a gym this week. Today was my 2nd day going. The beefy armed men of the gym have apparently never seen a girl on the treadmill in a skirt before.

I cleaned out the shop today, and the carport, and did something I absolutely hated. One of my beloved redbud trees in the front yard has need to come down for a couple years. The entire trunk was rotted and hollow. I've put it off, because it's so pretty in bloom  and it provided so much shade, but as I looked, I could see that if it fell the wrong way, it could tear the electrical line off the house. Given the fact we often have ice storms at least once ever winter, I went ahead and cut it down and hauled it off. Next spring when it warms up, I will have to figure out what flowerbed I can put there to fill the hole until I can find a fast growing tree to plant.

Lord, it was cold this morning. Eleven degrees. It was warmer in Alaska than here. :pound: Not a fan, at all.  Made it through an incredibly busy day. Had to bite my tongue to keep from letting my inner smart alec come out in an email to the boss.  I had addressed an issue to my immediate supervisor Friday, we had determined the course of action she wanted me to take, and I had documented it. The main boss looked at one report she gets daily, and fired off an email listing all the things to do- things that, of course, had already been done. I really wanted to tell her to actually look at the items in question before firing off emails that make her look retarded. Thankfully, I didn't. And later I found out she'd done the same thing to at least two other coworkers. We've decided she's bipolar. Or bi-stupid, which is more likely.
And I have came home and have bread rising for 6 loaves, to be taken to work as Christmas presents tomorrow. Life is grand, even though it is too cold to enjoy.

Hi.

I woke up yesterday and dressed for church and when I left it was a sunny 70º. By the end of the day, at 8pm, it was raining, windy, and 34º. Talk about a drop!

Today it was actually sleeting/lightly snowing in my drive thru window! I froze today...but surprisingly enough, I still have yet to turn my heater on this year. This apt stays at 70º or above without help. Weird, but I'm not complaining.

Currently I'm laying in the bed with a long sleeved shirt on under my gown and sweat pants and I'm quite warm with just the usual bedding.

Oh...and a snuggly cat.

loving and chihuahua do not belong in the same sentence.

So not battery. Actually alternator. I'd prefer it to be the battery as it is $80 cheaper. Grrrr. However, I still love my car.

One of my classes for Spring has been dropped due to low enrollment. I was really looking forward to that class too. But I had signed up for 6 figuring it probably would. So only 5 classes for me.

Mel-Brandon and I were talking a Southern Mississippi visit either late February to early March or possibly early May. Do you have a preference?

Thank you Heather, that is exactly what I was thinking. Almost all the chihuahuas I've met were snarling, sulking, ill tempered beasts. Rather noticeable, as animals in general seem to recognize me as at least benign. I have met four or five chihuahuas that were friendly, but the vast majority were cranky.

Bro. Bobby I sent you a text message. Have you changed your number?

Our Chihuahuas are sweet. The newest one has an attitude when she is annoyed, but very loving until you push her button. And, no, brother, the number is the same, I just had one of those days that I didn't have time to eat, much les respond, and when I got home I forgot to.

Maybe it's the owners. I have noticed with dogs in general, the more you spoil a dog rotten, the more rotten it becomes. Chihuahuas are small dogs and people are prone to spoil them. Also people who are prone to spoiling dogs and children (think little old ladies) are more likely to get a chihuahua than they would get a larger dog. Perhaps I have met so many cranky chihuahuas because they are more likely to be spoiled.

But I don't meet a lot of surly yorkies or feists or dachshunds. Only chihuahuas. Maybe they are the peaches of the dog family - sweet, but spoil quickly. ^.^

Bobby I got tired just reading all that. Have fun over there.

In local news, dad will be in tomorrow with his girlfriend. We shall see how she deals with the madhouse that is our family dinner.  And I will see how Uncle Fred reacts to her. Uncle Fred is very useful because he has a way of just knowing about somebody. If he takes up well with somebody, that person is probably a good kind of person.

And in sharing, I've got half the border put up, priced the tile and the materials for the book shelf, and smoked a pork loin, managing to bake two loaves of bread in the mean time. And I've rearranged our bedroom and am about to start cleaning/preparing the radio room... It will be the next recipient of tile.

We had a rainy, dreary weather-wise Christmas here.

You are welcome Roscoe. I sent cards to more GP people than I did our families. I think that says something.

For Christmas this year Brandon and I went to the shelter to look for a new to us cat. Well, we ended up coming home with 2. Brandon picked out a 7 year old orange and white adult male who had been found by an EMT after his owner passed away. I picked out a 2 year old orange tabby who was formerly feral and had been at the shelter for 6 months. He was social enough to out and about in the cat room to socialize. The 7 year old is out and about and doing great with our dog. The 2 year old is still hiding under the couch.

My mom tried to catch her stove top on fire today while cooking. Is it bad my first thought was, I wish Mel was here?

Christmas Thoughts:

Why did we have to run the air conditioner on Christmas Day? Christmas is supposed to be freezing cold outside and warm inside. When it's warm outside and we have to run the AC inside, it just... doesn't have the same "cozy" factor.

My cat got run over on Christmas morning. I think I have given up having cats here. We live on a back road, at one end of a long straightaway. People round the curve and stomp the gas to sail down the straightaway. If I ever get a cat again at this location I'll get a whole litter of cats, so maybe ONE will turn out smart enough to not go in the road and not climb up into car engine compartments.

We need more chairs. We had just barely enough chairs for all the people who were here last night. People in recliners, kitchen chairs, piled up on the couch... God help you if you needed to use the bathroom. We need more chairs, traffic lights at major intersections like the kitchen/living room intersection, and another bathroom or four.

Aside from losing a feline we had a great time yesterday. About a third of the people here weren't even family, but someone invited them. The more, the merrier. If anybody doesn't have plans for New Year's Day, we're doing the whole mess again in about a week and you're welcome to drop by. You don't even need to bring any food. We always have too much food anyway. We'll probably ask you to take some leftovers home because our fridges are all full of leftovers that we'll be eating on for a week.

Our cats are indoor only so in theory I don't have to worry about them getting ran over.

Lucian has ventured from under the couch finally!!

Absolutely love having her and Burrito around. They are awesome people. And after Burrito drove Lou's new ride, he wants one...
And in sharing, today Cody came over and we took apart the Corvette and fixed it. Sadly, we just finished up and Lou just came in. We were gonna slip over and torment  Mini-ster and fam, among others, but it'd just be too late today.

Slept in and did a lot of nothing today. I did have to buy a new battery for the 'vette, since the one in it was dead. It was nine years old, and apparently a month of nonuse let it die. Blessing was that Walmart now has cheap batteries ($48) and for once in my life they had one of the cheap batteries in the size I needed.
Then I came home and grilled, as well as pruning some of the plants in the yard.

Been busy installing something in the living room I've been wanting for a while. See, we are all electric, which can be a problem if we get an ice storm. And we live out in the sticks with no natural gas, so propane is our only option. So several years back, I installed a propane stove. Not the most attractive, but decent. I REALLY wanted a propane fireplace, but they are $900 to $1200. Not gonna happen. Until yesterday, when I found one on Facebook for $300. I offered $200, he countered with $250, the budget screamed, and a beautiful fireplace came home to us. Looks much better. And I'll put the propane stove up for sale and get $100 of my money back. It takes a bit to get a house redone to your taste, but little by little, through patience and craftiness, it'll happen..

Because "I want it I want it I WANT IT!!!"
*Jumping, kicking, screaming, all the other pitching-a-fit stuff.

Also because many people are deliberately short-sighted when it comes to something they want. They know the cost but they intentionally avoid thinking about it because that would get in the way of getting what they want. That's why credit card companies are still in existence. If credit card companies had to rely on people using cards only for emergencies the companies would go under, fast.

By that statement I should probably not have anything. Granted the "Someone" I owe is to banks and corporations, but.....
I understand your frustrations though.
And in regards to that, I am trying to get us on the same page for the year to work the Dave Ramsey plan like it should be. We've halfheartedly done it two or three times over the years, enough to know that 1) it works and 2) it is painful.  In fact, when I read your post I was downloading my Quicken software onto the newish computer- I'd not done that yet- so I can work on the budget.

I cheaped out and got the 2011 version. It's okay....I liked the old Microsoft Money better, but that may be because it was my first program and I was familiar with it. I just haven't had time to play with Quicken that much yet. My little local bank doesn't appear to play along with ANY programing software as far as automatic downloads and integration, so some of the main draws for it- ironically some of the very features I bought it for- doesn't work.

But your little local bank is the one where they know your name and if you needed a loan they know you would repay it and wouldn't even bother pulling up your credit score online, right? I'll take a little local bank over a bank that will network with popular accounting software any day.

Thus- none working software and no bank change... We've came to the conclusion that it is better to have a small town bank than one with all the modern frills. May not work for some, but it does for us. We nearly changed that when I worked in Little Rock, just so I'd have access to the account while at work, but I never got around to it. Just as well now that I work local.
And in sharing- tomorrow is back to the grindstone. It'll likely take me a week to get halfway caught up after having the week off...

UNSTUFFED CABBAGE ROLLS
 Ingredients:
1 1/2 to 2 pounds lean ground beef
1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
 1 large onion, chopped
 1 clove garlic, minced
 1 small cabbage, chopped
2 cans (14.5 ounces each) low sodium diced tomatoes
1 can (8 ounces) tomato sauce
 1/2 cup water
 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
 1 teaspoon sea salt
 Directions:
In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the ground beef and onion and cook, stirring, until ground beef is no longer pink and onion is tender.
Add the garlic and continue cooking for 1 minute.
Add the chopped cabbage, tomatoes, tomato sauce, pepper, and salt. Bring to a boil. Cover and simmer for 20 to 30 minutes, or until cabbage is tender.
 Yield: Serves 6 to 8.
Lou substituted ground deer meat for the lean ground beef,  drained Rotel for the tomatoes, and used Head Country Seasoning to season the meat while cooking it

Voila.
And good on the limiting other social media. Anything that will drive you back to GP. I'd hack Seth's FB password and lock him out were I able, just to drive his cranky butt back here..

All those substitutions sound like movements in the right direction Bobby. I look at a recipe as a record of kitchen experiments. If the experiment turned out good you write it down so you can do it again. As such, all recipes can be subject to change.

Quote from: mini on January 03, 2017, 07:28:37 PMYou shared that recipe somewhere. Would you do so again?

In other news, I have greatly limited all other forms of social media so now I resort to bugging you fine folks...and Roscoe.

Us too. So maybe I will as well if I have time between work? I wasn't hardly on fb much anyways for the same reason though. No time to spare.

I've had a major headache for two days. I'm trying to diet again- have actually dropped 6 lbs in the past week. And I am having to catch up with what seems like 10,000 offenders, many of whom have decided that they should use dope and/or get arrested. And on top of that my boss is blowing up my tailpipe again with audits of my files, once again pointing out things that are not yet due, as though they were. Some kind of weird version of faith I guess...

Hmm. One local forecaster says 1/2 inch of snow accumulation. Another says 2 to 3 inches. I wonder who to believe??

I recall from my childhood days the worst part of having a wood stove - going out in the freezing cold to get more wood. If we could have had three cords of wood inside the house (maybe with a Bag of Holding) a wood stove would have been great.

We have snow. And I have a car with ABS disabled, which means the car can slide if you lock down the brakes. And I'm going to have some fun today. That is all.

No wait, that is not all.

Now that is all.

So. The 2 to 3 inch forecaster was right. And we have more coming from Germ's direction. So- the good is- no work. Totally loving the nonessential personnel status for the first time in 15 years.I have bread rising, and have arranged to barter a loaf of said bread for a bowl of the neighbor's deer chili at lunch. And due to the weather, I won't be spending money this weekend.
The bad- I have bread rising and have arranged to barter a loaf of said bread for a bowl of the neighbor's deer chili at lunch. My diet is totally dying today. And due to the weather I won't be spending money this weekend. Lou and I were gonna slip over to Chellebelle and Germ's tonight or early tomorrow. Was really looking forward to it, as Grandma was gonna keep Chey. Bah.

I cooked lunch on the wood stove since it was already hot.
Roast, gravy, black eyed peas & broccoli/caliaflower mix.
I made the rice in a rice cooker. 0:-)

Feeling hearbroken. Found out today that a friend of mine passed away in his sleep last night. We all use to chat in the Apostolic chatroom back in the day before we could drive. He was one of my absolutely best friends that I still kept in contact with from those days. He's been through a lot in his few years. He lost his younger sister when we were in our teens, and then just lost his mom a few years ago. I didn't even know his dad. I pray for the remainder of his family as they deal with his loss. They've sent his body for autopsy since he did pass away in his sleep.  He was the reason I had my yellow flag on my signature line for so long. He was in the Marines (and as a recruiter) and now worked for the bureau of prisons. He was an absolutely all-around great guy, and I don't throw that around lightly either.

In other news - it snowed off and on today and yesterday. It's beautiful, but thankfully not really much to speak of on the ground.

And in another other news, I hit a bobcat last night on the way home from work on the interstate. The front right side took the brunt, and we will probably have to replace my bumper.

Wow..I havent checked in since before Christmas!

I caught up on this thread at least though.

Heather, anytime you want to visit is fine by me. Just give me about a week notice to prepare mentally and run the vacuum. Lol

Roscoe...dont blame me for your presence here!

Christmas was amazing. Spent five days and four nights in Florida with my favorite cousins. Spent actual Christmas day at my Brothers house and my other Brother and his family came also. It was the very first Chirstmas in many years that the three of us spent together. And sad to say, because my parents were not here, it was drama free and enjoyable. I miss my parents, but they did add a ton of drama to our family, especially on holidays.

My brother gave me an electric SMOKER!! so far I've tried some chicken leg quarters that didn't do so well, I had to finish them in the oven...but I had a friend come over and he looked at it and gave me a few pointers and so I'll try it again. I acquired two cans of beer from my non-church going brother, and I plan to smoke a beer-can whole chicken when I get the hang of this smoker.

Yesterday, I fired it up and made hamburger patties and smoked an onion! Delicious! Not ready to do big meats yet. I'm scared. Lol I need Roscoe to visit and show me some things.

Work is work. I'm still amazed at the stupidity of humans. Especially in the drive thru. No Sir, a Mocha iced coffee does not have caramel in it. And I had a lady argue with me that she paid for a LARGE iced coffee and i gave her a small...we only have one size. You paid the one price and I gave you the only size we have. But she insisted she paid for a LARGE. No. Our one size really is nearly three dollars. Sorry.

She sped away after snatching it out of my hand. I hope she spilled it on herself. Lol

It is freezing cold currently, and supposed to get colder as the weekend progresses. I am reclined in my chair, with my heating pad on my back, and a blanket. The dryer is on, and so far this winter I still have not used the heat and I am quite cozy.

Speaking of kittens...Beans is in heat, and driving me nuts the past few weeks. She howls and cries and wanders around pitifully. Knut just looks at her and then at me like "Mom, make her stop! What is her problem?!"

Luckily she has calmed down some, but as soon as I get my refund she is getting a snip snip. Sorry Isaac, no new litter for you to have.

I think that's my update. Oh...in food stuffs, I put some beef tips in the crockpot on high for about three hours the other day, I seasoned them and put a chopped onion on top, along with peppercini peppers, and then added fresh mushrooms, a can of fire roasted diced tomatoes and let that coom down, then thickened the gravy with some cornstarch and water... HOLY ROSCOE MOSES!!! AMAZING.  I made rice and had a feast. Ate on it for three meals. Wish I had some more beef tips and I'd make it again. Lol

Ok. I guess that's all.

For now.

And about the Holy Roscoe Moses thing... I dunno about the holy part. It seems to depend on how many idiots he has had to fill out paperwork on at work lately. ;)

Morning, all. I slept in this morning. Lou's mama called, apparently the roads are clear, so Chey is headed to her house for the night. Lou and I are gonna slip over a couple hours west and see if I can catch Sasquatch in his den.  While I enjoy visiting with the Beast, Lou is gonna spend time with Beauty, aka, Chellebelle.

And there I was, minding my own business, when suddenly a leprechaun showed up....

We had a great time of fellowship, then I introduced them to the Hippie Castle (local landmark), Georges (what a burger, and a 5 pound bag of taters made into fries for every order), and Braums.  Roscoe had never tried Braums. I questioned our friendship.  He got ice cream.  He's now a believer.

I also let him try my VR Headset.  I now have 14 bullet holes, 3 missing windows, and a warrant out for his arrest after the haunted house spooked him.  His reaction was worth it.

Now I should be up and on my way to prepare for church, but I'm typing this.

Maybe I'll have him preach just to teach him about shooting at things that aren't really there.

I can't even remember the last thing I posted. I currently have no financial aid and am waiting to see if my appeal paperwork goes through. I should know by Tuesday [in theory].

Our heat went out a few days ago. Thankful for the wood fireplace but I've never tended one before [hello trailerpark childhood!]. We camped out in the living room floor last night. Olli wanted to sleep on my head. It was weird. We have 5-6 inches of snow on the ground and it was 10 degrees when we woke up.

Regardless of whether school works out or not, I have a job. One of my old employers messaged me saying she desperately needs help. She will work around school if it happens or I'll work for her almost full time if it doesn't. I'm excited. I first started working for her 11 years ago this month. Lol.

That's all. I have to go tend the fireplace and tuck my fingers back in my gloves.

Mel-my visit will be dependent of whether school works out or not. We will let you know.

Okay. So- we decided to go over and torment Mini and familia as is our custom yearly, even though it is a couple weeks later than normal. When we showed up, we got to see their beautiful new casa, and enjoyed the company as well. I showed off my gun, we decided it was too cold to mess with the radio antenna- it was encased in ice anyway- and then we wandered out to dinner and to spy the sights of the land. A wonderful time....then Mini decided to show me his VR headset. Something I've never had. Keep in mind, I AM wearing, in the spot I would normally be wearing for the last 15 years, and thus the muscle memory, my new 1911 .45 Kimber pistol.
This nut que's up a haunted house scene. And man is it realistic. Like you are there. I cyber-walk into this castle and get assaulted by bats flying at me, pictures falling off of the wall, blood dripping. Yeesh. If it hadn't been for the laughter of them at my expense watching me react, I'd have thought I was actually there, shot something and had to repent for language. As it was, it frightened me outta another two years' growth! :pound:  :pound:
I need a VR Headset. And a DragRacing game.  And maybe a shooting game ..."Hunting Sasquatch".. :freaky2:  :freaky2:

Now we're back home, I have a pounding headache for some reason and I'm gonna take a nap before we go to church.
Oh yeah, we went to church this morning too. Good service excellent preaching, and Sasquatch only made me testify so I no shooted him.

At some point (I think where he was at, I've never been brave enough to go that far) is a certain...um...board...used to communicate with spirits.

Yes. The board is laying on the table. I never went further.
But it is totally realistic.

Suckers that made me eat cold ribs and miss my date day with my wife are currently incarcerated. At least one of 'em is- the other has gotten a two week reprieve because his lawyer had emergency heart surgery. The prosecutor and the judge have already told him his options though- 48 months in the pen or go to trial and if found guilty, 20 years. He WILL be found guilty, no doubt, and I have no doubt he will take the deal..

Jenn-yes and no. Yes as far as financial aid is concerned but I'm no where close to done academically because of having to start over when I went back.

Apparently the financial aid office has had daily calls from at least 3 of my professors. 1 of them left me a voicemail today that she has badgered a way to appeal a denied appeal from a worker in that office and I'm supposed to contact her tomorrow.

Been a long day. Spent most of it on the road, doing home visits. Took lunch and bothered Mini by sending him pics of what the restaurant called a "Hillbilly Philly". Basically a Philly Cheesesteak on a jalapeno bun with their own special sauce which had the distinct taste of horseradish of some type as an ingredient. It was truthfully divine. And probably 1,000 calories.
Then I drove waaaaay back up in the mountains to find someone for another office, and discovered that he had lied to them and the address he'd given did not exist. I even double checked with the local sheriff's office.

No school for Heather. However, if I read the degree requirements right for out local community college. If they let me transfer my credits there, I only have to take 4 classes to qualify for the their associates degree, also it would be affordable to save up and pay out of pocket to take 1-2 classes a semester. I'll venture into that territory closer to fall semester because I'm so past done with dealing with school shenanigans right now.

On another note, I've been at my job 2 days and the owner has already told me I will more than likely be working full time as of next week and her manager of her business in the next month.

And I survived the day. It was a hectic mess. And about nine thirty, I'm in the office hard at work and I hear someone come in. I look up in time to see a well dressed lady storm into my office and introduce herself- as the 3rd in command in our agency. Like my big boss's boss.  Came in, sat down and proceeded to take up thirty minutes of my valuable time just talking. I hope I didn't say anything wrong. I apparently kept her occupied while my coworkers got all of their supposed to be prohibited items out to their car. Prohibited in this case being- dogs. Yes, two of my coworkers brought their dogs to work. Why? I know not. But I'm glad they didn't bark while she was there.
Felt pretty good about the visit with her, but one thing kinda bothered me. She made a big deal about how proud she was our agency required a degree and how she felt it "attracted a better quality candidate." I'm sure she had no idea that I don't have a degree, and didn't mean it to gouge me, but I really had to bite my tongue. I admire those who are tenacious enough to get a degree. Strongly regret that I did not do that. But that piece of paper doesn't instantly confer common sense and make one a better employee.
My boss seems to think this old degree-less hillbilly does a good job. I guess that's all that matters.

Dreary day and I feel poorly. Made myself get up and clean up the house some,so Lou won't have as much to do. Tomorrow morning I have to put a smoked meatloaf on for church potluck.... Too cold to go clean out the carport room like I need to.

Wait, what? Bobby if the agency requires a degree how did you get in? Does your immediate boss look at experience and common sense and bend the rules or was the lady wrong about your agency always requiring a degree?

Not really my business, I'm just curious.

My agency has a little known loophole. If you have enough law enforcement related experience, a waiver CAN - not always- be granted to waive the degree requirement. Once again, God prepared the path for me. My experience, not just years in law enforcement, was that of a supervisor, a firearms expert and trainer, a Glock Armorer, and an instructor in addition to adding up to well over 2,000 hours of training. That got the waiver instantly.

It's funny- I kicked about the instructor jobs, because I didn't feel like I was a good speaker and had a fear of public speaking. A lot of the training I went to because it was there, but really didn't intend on leaving "my' department. But God in His wisdom saw down the road, and prepared me exactly for what they would look for. And it helps with the preaching. I now do not fear public speaking if I'm prepared.

Reminds me of the ad-lib of the old footprints in the sand poem. God to man: "You see the two sets of footprints over there?" Man: "Yes" God: "That's where I walked with you." Man: "Cool. And the one set of footprints?" God: "That's where I carried you." Man "Awesome! But what's those two long marks by the set of footprints?" God: "That, my son, is where I dragged you kicking and screaming to where you needed to be." :laughhard::

There's lots of drag marks on the beach of my life...

Lou and I had a rare day off together as well. We had to go visit her doctor for female issues, then enjoyed a nice dinner. I used the time she was in the doctor's office to work on our written budget, then we went to a new "Box10" grocery store that opened up. Basically a salvage grocery that sells at cost plus ten percent, it was amazingly cheap. Yeah, like 10 lbs of potatoes for $1.97.  Nearly three lbs ( 2 good steaks and two partial steaks) of sirloin steak for $6.50. Canned corn at .45 a can. We spent around $40 that we hadn't planned on, since we had just gone in to see what it was like, but it's stuff that will keep and we won't have to buy next week, so anything over budget I'll pull out of the food budget for next week.
Then we came home and I spent all evening cleaning out the carport room and burning personal papers that have piled up and needed burning. How on earth does so much clutter accumulate?!? :pound:
And last night, I saw root beer concentrate in Walmart. Got the wild hair to make homemade root bear and I did. Chey LOVES it...

Hey no fair! Our salvage grocery sells canned veggies at 59 cents! How did you get 45 cents a can? :p

But yeah, as long as you look at what you're buying a salvage grocery is a great place. Just because a can has a dent doesn't mean the contents are ruined.

Candy bars from fundraisers are incredibly hard to resist - especially the caramel ones! Yum!

We are only one month and 18 days from Jeremy's bariatric surgery, if all goes well with his second psych exam, and if the results from his gallbladder ultrasound and upper GI scan were good. He's incredibly anxious and SO ready to have this behind him and start his NEW journey. "Eat to live, not live to eat!"

My Cowboys lost, but I'm dealing with it maturely.. by rolling my eyes and ignoring all those memes all over facebook land, haha.

After nearly five years of marriage, we are FINALLY getting a dishwasher in our home! It's portable, because neither of us know anything about installing dishwashers, but we are ECSTATIC! Both of us despise washing dishes. Never again will I live in a home without a dishwasher - if I can help it!

We have been trying to coordinate with a friend/coworker of the husband's to come pick up our couch, a spare king bed, and our coffee table. He's needing to furnish his apartment since he and his wife are divorcing. (Say a prayer for him, I really think this is a time when Jeremy could really step up and be a witness to him.) And getting rid of our older stuff means that we can finally get our recliners! Yay!! We are ready to have a little more room and versatility in our furniture/living room!

And I'm barely surviving year-end. I told my husband that I'm having to just take it day by day, haha.

Fuzzy, I have their blog saved on my browser, and I check randomly to see if they've updated their posts. I have LOVED following along on their adventures. Praying all goes well with the delivery!

I love Dina. I feel like we keep contact via FB and IG. I know we like each others pictures and what not a lot.

I would say I'm sorry about the Cowboys, but as a 25+ year Packers fan, I'm not. At all.   However, I will say I really like Jason Witten [he's from my area] and Dak is going to be an awesome QB with a bit more experience.

I'm in the middle of 3 open to close shifts at work. However, my boss is pleased that customer service compliments and sales have both been going up since I've came back on board.

It's been hard watching everyone post about school/classes/homework on FB.

Dad went for his 3 month post chemo CT scan earlier this week and went for results today. He is still all in the clear and goes for another CT in 3 months. It amazes me how well he has done. Praise God!

haha yea ALL BBQ places here have brisket. Usually. That IS the staple of BBQ.

I make a mean brisket in the slow cooker that my Mom always made growing up. Just a brisket and then you add Claude's BBQ Brisket Marinade Sauce....(hard to find) and let it cook all day....OHHH MAN. I just can sit there and eat the whole pot myself.  :fork:  :thumbsup2:

Blues?!? You?!?!  I'm blown away... And it's ALWAYS a Albert King/Stevie Ray kinda morning.

Made it through the day. Relaxing at home. Used all of my considerable charm on my former HR manager and sweet talked her  into giving my the website and password to my W2 from the Capitol before ANYONE else at the Capitol gets theirs. I've spent the evening using Tax Act to file my taxes. Annoyed to discover the $20 I usually pay had jumped to $40, apparently because I failed to "lock in my price" several months ago. It's alright though...at least we are getting our usual chunk back. Of course it's just money that we loaned the government, but it's a nice savings account.

Yes. And I like that song by Larry Carter, who is also an extremely talent guitarist, but not the best singer.
I've always loved the sound of blues. From the harmonicas, to the guitars, it just "clicks" with me...
It's sunday. I am being lazy. The only thing I've done overly constructive in the past two days is I made 2 buttermilk pies, a loaf of bread, spent yesterday with Lou and Chey, and completed February's zero-based budget.
The hard part will be sticking to it...

Blues?!? You?!?!  I'm blown away... And it's ALWAYS a Albert King/Stevie Ray kinda morning.

lol you don't know me at all then. I don't do bluegrass....but blues like Stevie Ray Vaughn? Most definitely.
I don't do bluegrass or country or southern gospel...but everything north...lol gospel, motown, blues, r&b, soul, and everything in between.
I don't do contemporary hippy dippy worship either...but gospel obviously.
I also do classical, piano, opera and things of that nature.

My vinyl collection is made up of mostly classical and motown, but lots of random things in betwixt.
Music is a major part of who I am. Anyone that knows me can attest.  ;)

And morning all. Gonna be a busy day. One of my parolees came in yesterday. Passed a drug test, doing terrific, good job, good marriage, getting off parole in March, a real success story. Until 9:30 last night. One of my friends popped him with 12 grams of meth. Apparently, his good job was being augmented by a small entrepreneurial venture selling dope. Sigh. They never learn.....

Yes. But her license is the entry level. She doesn't have the privileges to the frequencies that would actually work to talk to here. Robbie, on the other hand has the Big Kahuna of ham license. Like me. Kinda the Uber-Nerd.

And Isaac, the prize is knowing that I have and other ham operators haven't. They have what the call Honor Roll- at least 300 of the 330 recognized ham radio DX entities or countries. I only am a bit over halfway there, with somewhere around 160 confirmed countries and probably another 20 I'm waiting on confirmation.

Well, Chel is in Cambodia, tired but safe. The tracking software gave me a scare last night. On her flight from Taiwan to Cambodia, it said the flight had been diverted to Qatar, which is on the Persian gulf. Totally not anywhere close to where she should be. I guess it was some sort of glitch because Dina found another tracking site that looked normal. Kinda made this mama worried for a little bit thinking of hijackers or something.

Dina looks amazing!! I saw a picture on FB of her from the midwife. How does one have a baby and look like that afterward?!?!?

We both had a day off here today. Was going to go hiking but Brandon informed me that his license had expired on his birthday. So we spent the morning at the DMV. He has tomorrow off and is going to help his dad and sister with car repairs. I work and don't have another day off until Tuesday.

:hi: Sheesh, Finally- at 2 pm- getting to take a lunch break. And now I'm too tired to go get lunch. Started my day off completely torqued. We have a guy on "loan" from another office who's supposed to be helping us. He does nothing. We have to have someone behind in the office on transport days- two transporting, one in the office- our other officer took a rare day off before knowing we had to transport.
Loaner boy hears that we have a ton of folk coming in, and decided this morning that he would call in sick. Myself and the other officer stayed late last night and rescheduled everyone so this turd would not have to do anything, and he STILL calls in sick this morning. Myself and the other officers are hoping that if he lied, as we all suspect, that he gets a case of the green apple two step so bad he has to get medical assistance. Yes, we are that petty.
And forgive me for not being Christian like in my fervent hopes for him. He has ticked all of us off for the last month and this put the cherry on the sundae so to speak.

Oh, and Loaner Boy is a Church of the Nazarene Pastor, and acts much the opposite...

My boss sent two others from another office to carry the thugs to prison, which was a relief. So now I have to go to West Memphis Tuesday, and Fayetteville, in the opposite direction Thursday.

And in sharing, there I was, enjoying my Sunday, knowing that I could go to church at 5 and hear someone preach, just enjoying the good life. Then at 3 pm, two hours until church,I got the most unwelcome text an assistant can get-Pastor:" I'm sick and won't be there. Cover for me."

I leave it (or the heater) off from like September to April usually. lol I run the heater a little bit in Nov/Dec. But in Texas the weathers so up and down it's not usually necessary.

In local news, I am planning to go to east TN tomorrow to visit mom for a few days. So of COURSE the oil pressure switch on my vehicle goes out. Fortunately I know a good, reliable, honest mechanic and fortunately I usually give him plenty of time to work, so when I told him it was an emergency he took me seriously and did emergency surgery. Unfortunately I needed that money for gas. Had to borrow money from a relative for the trip, and I hate borrowing.

Ah well. At least it happened here where I know a mechanic I can trust instead of breaking down somewhere along the road between here and mom's.

Well. We had a wonderful time. Ate some good fish, visited with a ton of terrific people, including Ma and Pa Porter, who I reminded that they have adopted me, whether they wanted to or not; bid on and won a strawberry cream cheese pie and a 5 gallon bucket of 2x concentrate gain laundry soap; bid and lost at $40 a box of fried pies. They were labeled on the outside with spidery, wavy, old fashioned hand writing that looked to be shaken by age- therefore I deduced they were a prize to be won. Unfortunately some evil woman kept out bidding me and I lost them. After talking around, I became convinced that I had deduced correctly, wwhich made me all the more irritated that I lost them. :sadbounce:

Lou got to meet Okieoliveoyl, and had a time... Chey hit it off with Maddie, and we took a jug of Okie's special white dip home, which is delicious, by the way.

And prior to the shindig, myself and Brother Carr got Mini to climb a tree. I had climbed about twenty feet into that sweet gum tree, then made the mistake of looking down. Zacchaeus I am not. Mini climbed up another 15 feet or so, and that poor sweetgum tree had to support both of us for around 30 minutes.
We got his ham antenna up though, and hopefully he will be able to talk to us now....

I had a dad who taught me how to check my car out, do preventative maintenance, and to know how to baby it when it started having issues. I have never had a car break down on me. I have had one blowout- with my mom and brother in the car- and we put the spare on, drive to Walmart, and got it replaced and went on our way.

I've been sick with the sinusitis since October. I blow blood and mucus from my nose at least twice an hour all day every day, even at night. Been on three rounds of antibiotics, and every home remedy and OTC drug out there.

I'm likely dying and these stupid Drs don't have a clue. They just pat me on my hiney and send me home again.

I can't breathe and I feel like crud 24/7. It's just how I live now.

Everything's generally the same as always around here. I finally have the church books done, but I'm still working on year-end at the job. I do have things 2/3 of the day done tho! Yay!!

Jeremy's bariatric surgery is for SURE scheduled for March 6th. We finally have every stitch of approval needed, and bar any unforeseen circumstances, he will definitely be having it that day. Finally! lol..

I cannot wait until March!! My mom is coming to stay with us while Jeremy recovers from his surgery. He really should only be down a day or so, so hopefully we will be able to just visit instead of be nurses, haha.

Our house is almost in parental order.. just a few more days of cleaning things up. It's going to eventually be to where we only have the big projects left until it's ready to sell! Yaaaaaaaaaaay. :)

I've been getting more responsibilities at work and it's making another employee angry. Mind you this same employee never shows any initiative, has to be asked multiple times to do things, and never wants to work her full schedule [much less extra in the event someone calls in].   It boiled over yesterday when after I did the schedule per the owners request, she didn't have as many hours as she expected. Which of course was my fault and she exploded on me....in front of customers....and left in a rage telling me not to tell the owner about.... It was all super shady and unprofessionally. I can't apologize for being proactive. It's a reason Sue [the owner] loves me and wanted me to come back to work for her.

Must be something in the air. While I had no part in it, the newest officer in my office was asked for her resignation today and gave it. Less than six months.
I'm not unhappy, I didn't trust her and had caught several untruths from her. But this does mean the work load will remain high for a while...

I will tell you what managers at w*rk tell employees when they mention heavy business.

"Well that's job security!" :D

Yeah, it's just as annoying when the managers at w*rk say it too...

Today was a perfect day. I spent until 1pm cruising the back roads and working on guns. The last half wasn't too bad either. Now to get through tomorrow..
I came home and worked some more on my ongoing tile project. Just about ready to pull up the baseboards and carpet. Plan to possibly start laying tile this week end..

Made it through the day. Lou and I have been looking for a good solid dresser for Chey, since we are remodeling a room for her. Looks like she's going to inherit ours. Lou and I found a very high quality solid wood bedroom suite for sale in our price range. It was originally over $3,000, so paying a tenth of that seemed like a good deal to me.  For the first time in nearly 14 years of marriage, Lou and I will have a matching bedroom suite. Now to go pick it up tomorrow and set it up before I finish de-construction on Chey's room in preparation to laying the tile.

Matching furniture is no fun.

Brandon is currently building us a headboard for our bed from scrap wood from an old storage building at his grandma's.

The exploding lady is supposed to apologize to me tomorrow. She agreed that she is in no way, shape, or form ready to take on more responsibility since she can't even run the register without messing it up. Plus we are all going into overtime next week due to closing and moving the 2nd location so we will see how she likes all those hours.

Sunday is my only day off in who knows how long after it. I just keep saying...we need the money. We want to pay off debt and are kicking around the idea of building a tiny house out on his dad's land.

Shew. I am totally bushed and it's only two pm. This new bedroom suite is flowerin' heavy. That dresser weighed a ton...
And I've got the carpet up in the guest room/Chey's new room. Gotta run to town for trash bags and a scraper to get the pad off of the glue, then we should be ready to start fitting tile.....
Then paint Chey's dresser and probably some of her other things, and install a new water heater, and a new washer. And build bookcases for the man room/ham radio room/ liabrary. Lord. I ain't never gonna catch up and that's just the inside stuff..

No.  I need gratitude. LOL. I bought a 5 lb stick of bologna and wrapped it in bacon, spiced it up and smoked it. I gave my beloved Mouse, aka Daisy the 2.2 lb Chihuahua, a piece to eat as she sits on my shoulder. I turned my head in her general direction and she nearly took my nose off with those razor sharp little teeth. That's gratitude for ya. I wasn't remotely interested in her bologna, and now I'm afraid to move until she's done lest my nose get torn of.

Historically biting-the-hand-that-feeds-you has never lasted very long with my pets. I like animals but I don't take any junk. But then I've never owned a small dog, only medium and large ones.

I thought it was a 1.5 lb gator. But when I took it to the vet yesterday, it weighed in at 2.2 lbs.
And she was just protecting her food. I'd have been singing a different story had she made tooth contact.

Had full intentions of staying home with my ailing cat today but got up early (without an alarm) and went to church anyway. I'd been watching a local UPC church online the past couple months but decided to actually darken their doorstep today. So glad I did. It was worth the hour drive.

As far as my cat, I'm afraid Topher may not have much more time here on this mortal coil. He's dropping weight fast at 15 years old.

Agreed. I just revamped my bedroom this weekend too! Guess it was the weekend for bedrooms lol.
Got a new bed/frame. Painted some new artwork for above the bed.

Still on the hunt for a mid-century modern dresser.
And still deciding what to put on the wall above the dresser.
Also need a planter (almost said pot but knew it'd get misquoted) for a plant.
Going to go find fabric to make new covers for my euro pillows since I can't find cheap ones that I like.

True.. surgery is barbaric. He will surely become intolerable on Friday.. His liquid fast starts then and goes until his surgery (and technically beyond haha). I can't wait... she says with a heavy sigh. haha..  I'm thankful that he is able to do something that will help him in the long run tho. No meds, possibly no back surgery, plus a healthier lifestyle for both of us.

Work today. My parents surprised me yesterday and drove 3 hours to have church and eat lunch with us for my birthday. I very much appreciated it. :)

I'm thoroughly enjoying the current weather.. It's really too bad this kind of weather can't be 24/7 haha.

Brandon had to have a tooth pulled this morning.

I got to work early around 1:45 to the shop being locked and dark. I opened up and called my boss. Despite 2 conversations [1 via text and the other via talk] that she worked 11-2 today, she forgot.  If she doesn't watch it, I'm not putting her on the schedule....ok. Not really. But maybe she will be in more of floater role [which I know she will enjoy].

I had the smoothie shop message me this morning if I wanted to pick up some time. #1 I feel like I have my hands plenty full here. #2 They guy who drunkenly threatened to kill me still works there. Think I'm gonna pass on that.

Trying to figure out if I can afford to go to women's conference next month. I'm already pinching pennies to try to figure out when I can get down to see Mel again. Sigh. To be independently wealthy would be cook about now.

LORD. Got a call after I posted at lunch- county guys decided to raid a house two of my peeps lived in. Drugs, sex, and guns. Fun. So I wound up helping search a house I didn't want to even go in, then got back to the office in time to finish the day up with paperwork.

Got home and wound up taking Lou and Chey to Lowes, buying grout, and since our washing machine has been making noise like a bearing going out- it's so loud now you can't hold a conversation in the living room with it running- we shopped for a washing machine. I'm tired of patching this one and my local appliance parts house advised me that the bearing that in all likelihood was going out would cost me $300. We wound up buying a cheap little top loader Lowes had on sale for that $300. It had overall good reviews, so maybe we can get a few years out of it. The $500 front loader we currently have has lasted around 9 years before everything went south, so if we can get four or five years out of this, I'll be happy
.
I got home with the grout, and in a fit of energy began grouting the floor. Didn't take long to realize 1) once started, you can't quit because the grout will dry out; 2) I really didn't want to do that; and 3) I did it anyway. I'm  currently dying with pain, specifically knee and back. But all I have to do tomorrow is mop/steam the floor and seal the grout lines, and re-install the baseboards. Then one more project off the list...

I can't remember who it was, but someone here was talking about living in a house that had plywood subfloor with tile/grout over it, so every time you walk across the floor it flexes and grout chips away and you have to sweep it up all the time.  It was many a moon ago though.

I done went old school. Lou wanted an entertainment center to put our DVDs in. I found an solid oak with glass doors entertainment center for $35 at a flea market. Evidently it was designed for old 27 to 32 inch tvs, and the new flat screens don't fit. Figuring at that price it was a steal, I bought it. Put our monitor on top, and went out to the shop, where my circa 1995 Pioneer stereo that I bought straight after high school for $2,000 lived. It cleaned up nicely, has a 25 disc CD changer, am/fm and cassette. Now, I know the CD player and the stereo work- no idea on the cassettes. But I put the tower in the place the tv was supposed to go. It fit nicely and the big honking speaker fits behind the center. I can jam now. :freaky2:  Mike Bowling, Kenny Hinson, and heaven help us all if I get wild and throw in the Manuel Family band or my White Cross. I can vibrate things off of the fridge when the bass hits. The neighbor's fridge. :laughhard:

A 25-disk CD changer... but does it have an aux port? With the prevalence of smartphones, aux ports have come back in style.

No matter. With a cassette adapter, the cassette player can double as an aux. Gotta have one though - these days it's just unheard of to not have a way visitors can connect their phones and play their tunes.

In local news, I might be evil. I'm not sure.

At work a woman was complaining about something. Someone else mentioned there was a reason for the thing she was complaining about, and finished with, "So you really can't complain about it."

I immediately thought to myself, "Boy did you ever underestimate her! She can complain about anything."

Does that make me evil or just perspicacious?

And today was stressful. Peeps being stupid and paperwork killing me.
And in sharing Lou and I are considering going on the 2018 Apostolics at Sea cruise..
