Urgh. Good Lord, it is morning. Thank God for Dr Pepper... Kinda dreary day forecast. In fact this entire week is said to be soggy. We shall see...

Multiple jokes I could make on that one, but I'll let it pass.

In local news I just got four dozen more eggs... these homemade pickled eggs are so good I've been eating way too many of them. Gonna have to make a new batch.

Dad had three dozen eggs in the fridge and so I'm making pickled eggs to send home with a cousin after the funeral. It was kinda a joke in our family cause Dad ALWAYS sent pickled eggs home with them when they visited...this time will be no different. I have to use up these eggs somehow and this is the best way I can see. It will be a great way to honor his memory.

I'm at work.  Yesterday was cool enough that I needed to turn on the heat for a bit but today's supposed to be in the mid 80s. :smirk2:

Makes me think of those jars of eggs in what looks like pickle juice - sitting on a counter of an old country convenience store, or a county fair.

Well there are several ways, all depending on your taste preference. If you want the eggs to have a strong pickle taste, then you can simply add peeled boiled eggs to an empty pickle jar with the juice still in it. But my dad's recipe is a bit different.

Boil and peel eggs. Get a big jar, we use a gallon glass jar, and mix about a 1/3 a gallon of Apple cider vinegar and some sugar, salt, pepper and garlic powder to taste...about a cup a a half sugar...then add a can of beets with the juice. Add the peeled eggs, seal it up and leave on the counter for at least a week before eating.

That's our favorite recipe.

I suspect I shall try this next time we have an egg surplus...which is frequently due to me buying fresh eggs every chance I get, forgetting that I have a dozen or two in the fridge already.  :biglaugh: I don't think we will ever run out of bread or eggs- for some reason if I go in a grocery store, I pick up a loaf of bread. It's a Pavlovian reflex, I guess... :laughhard:
Today at work was somewhat quieter due to session being over- thank God.

Been a long day. Finally got in from work. I had to go by the tool and Equipment store to purchase a decent string trimmer.  (Weed eater). Every year I buy either a used one or a cheap Weed eater brand at Wal-Mart, and every year they give me fits. Last year, you will recall, I got so disgusted with the lawn mower that I went and bought a new Bad Boy.
After attempting to tidy up the church yard for Easter before going to Mini's last week, and discovering the Weed eater nonfunctioning again, I was ticked. Bro Wilson brought his Stihl trimmer up, and I used it to finish the job. He said his was several years old, and he'd had zero problems, although it was about 4 times the price of the Weed eater brand.
I went and bought one today. I sure didn't need to spend that chunk of change, but- the last two cheapies didn't even last one season, and I'm tired of it. Now I have the tools to keep my lawn and the church lawn decent.

I didn't have a recipe, I just tossed stuff together. White vinegar, water, salt, garlic, dill, cayenne, just a pinch of basil, onion.

To any potential troublemakers in AR, now is the best time to cause trouble at the state capitol. They'll never see it coming.  :freaky2:

And in sharing, I've made it nearly to another weekend. Gotta teach Bible study tonight- on the 3rd chapter of 1 Peter. Judging from some of my notes, I'll make no one pleased with me. And tonight is, truthfully, a night when my physical being wants to simply veg out.
They are calling for potential storms tomorrow too..

In other news... *trying not to feel so hopeless and overwhelmed*  Hmmm! Never mind...sometimes it's better not to think about the struggles you are going through...trying to count my blessings; which are many!  God is supposed to be able to use your brokenness for His good...I'm not sure I have been much use lately! Although, in the past two months several people that I have been inviting to church finally visited; some are still coming and now bringing along other family members!!! One of them I have been inviting for over two years; he is talking about coming back...hesitantly! Please keep them in prayer...there are so many preconceived notions about God and the bible...that some people never see what's right in front of them! Their minds made up...not willing to change; or give any thing up!!!

AAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRGH!!!!!!

Wednesday night the pastor mentioned the computer he used in his office seemed to have developed a problem. Standard web browser hijacker, started with an obviously fake invitation to update java, when he got tired of seeing it he finally clicked on it, now his browser takes him to mostly advertisement sites.

"What antivirus are you using?"

"Well it had um... what was that called... McAffee, but it was a trial version."

Actually I've been using Linux for online stuff for so long that I'm a bit out of touch. I had to run a few searches for good free antiviruses. Seems Malwarebytes and Bitdefender are the best free ones out there.

"We have free, effective and pretty. Pick any two. Free pretty ones won't be effective. Effective pretty ones won't be free. And effective free ones won't be pretty."

*Lynx makes a note to mess up someone's Mac later tonight. "Macs don't get viruses" is the best thing that ever happened to virus writers. Might be a virus maker who started that rumor...

Actually it's technically possible for even a Linux computer to get a virus. But the user has to be really, really stupid to make it happen. In Windows you can get a virus just by inserting an infected flash drive. In Linux (and to a certain extent in Mac) you have to get out and push to make a virus wreck your computer.

I use MalwareBytes on one of my laptops....on the other, I'm enjoying a 30 day free trial of AVG2015 paid version. When it expires next week, I'll probably switch to MalwareBytes on it..
And in sharing today was beautiful. I drove Rusty in this morning to take Chey to school, enjoyed breakfast with an old friend, went by the church because I was feeling like the worst kind of sinner...and wow, did I ever find God there.
In all of my life living in and around church, I have never felt the love and closeness of God in the way I did this morning. For some reason it seemed like He just wrapped His arms around me and wouldn't let go. Amazing feeling of peace and comfort. I'm still blown away by it. For a bit, I just sat on the front pew, not saying anything, not praying- just basking in what I know was real. If I could bottle that up and distribute it worldwide, there would never be another atheist.
After tearing away from that moment, I went by Walmart and bought mulch, then came home and worked on the landscaping a bit, before taking the Corvette to pick Chey up so she could impress her older boyfriends with "her" Corvette.
I'm wore to a frazzle...and have even more outside work to do tomorrow.

It is nearly one am and I'm still up. Out of boredom I check the FCC's website and discover that Mini's callsign has came through- if I remember right, FCC uploads at midnight. So now I have knowledge he has been waiting for, and obviously he's sleeping like most folk are. So he doesn't know that his callsign is KG5GYE, and I can't tell him yet.
I'm actually kinda enjoying the gloating and consider seeing if he will 1) check here and see this message this am or 2) look tomorrow sometime later....

Weeeeee, yesterday was fun!

We finally got around to causing damage at the Hibachi Grill buffet. I spent most of my appetite on the sushi bar for two reasons - 1 I can fill up and not feel really weighted down like I feel if I fill up on fried stuff or red meats - 2 I can get fried stuff or red meats anywhere but I can't get sushi anywhere less than an hour away.  And I think I'm STILL not hungry this morning. I tested the limits of "all you can eat."

Then I was supposed to preach last night. For a bit I thought I wasn't going to have to get to preach because God showed up in a big way. Tongues and interpretation, the whole bit. But it all fit right in with the message. Before service I thought it was going to be a hard message to preach, but after all that went down before the message it fit right in place.

And after all of that... I was so tired that I went to be an hour early. For me, that's rather remarkably tired.

Sitting in my car on lunch.. It's now raining! I have a horrible headache...and the lack of morals, ethics, etiquette, manners, standards, class, sense, etc... & work ethics in this world; is about to make me crazy!!!

Feeling more then slightly stressed, aggravated, and/or frustrated! 😣 Not to mention completely exhausted, and overwhelmed!!😢

Maybe crazy isn't so bad...then I wouldn't care so much, stress so much; or expect too much!!!?😲😶 RIGHT?

I only have to deal with RM for 2-3 more weeks. The thought of moving home early is very appealing right now. However there is no point as I will just have to turn around and move back in 5 weeks. It's taking everything in me not to just throttle that girl. We got along fine until we had to share the same room. Over summer we were in an apartment with separate rooms. One can only watch the same episode of Teen Mom so many times before it makes them homicidal. My preferred about of viewing of that garbage is ZERO!!!! I got fussed at yesterday for wearing gym clothes then she went on to insult my mom for life choices that has absolutely nothing to do with my RM. AAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!

:hi:. Lord it's been a long day. I got shipped off to be security for a tax sale. Got to watch folks spend amazing amounts of money buying properties at pennies on the dollar- one guy spent over $300k I know of himself, and I suspect he had several in the audience bidding for him. Finally made it home, relaxed in the recliner and dozed off, and the wife started playing the piano. I love her singing and playing, but Lord. I have a headache. So I came out to the ham shack.

I hope his shills had a list of who all was in the gang, so one didn't wind up bidding against another.

How do I get one of these properties for pennies on the dollar?

Find out when your county has tax delinquent auctions, usually at the county courthouse. Oftentimes, properties can be bought for as little as a few hundred dollars. Your state may be different from ours- here, the Commissioner of State Lands is the office responsible for it. Way it works- property goes up for bid for back taxes, say $500. You win the bid for $500 because no one bid against you. The owner has 30 days to redeem it. If he does, you get your money back. If he doesn't- most likely, since it's been delinquent for four years before the state sells it- the land is yours.  It's up to you to research if there are any liens or if the property is what you want..
Most of the properties sold are an acre or two, sometimes with old houses, sometimes grown up. Every once in a while, there'll be nice places.  I'd like to grab up some of our local properties like that. Last year my neighbor bought 7 acres on the other side of town for $500.

Haven't been able to kick this yuckiness. Finally broke down and got antibiotics. (Hush, Chel.) :P Here's hoping they start working quickly. This THING - whatever it is - is miserable.

Had a tea party yesterday for Bella's 2nd birthday. We went to a local tea room that doesn't just tolerate little people - they really try to make it FUN for them. When I went in to make a reservation and talk to them about the menu I told them it was for a 2 yr old, and asked if they had plastic cups for the little people. They said no, that even little people need real teacups. And if something breaks, it's perfectly okay.  :o :thumbsup2: Nobody broke anything, and everyone had fun. Well. All the GIRLS had fun. LOL! We had two boys there as well, who got drug along with their moms and sisters, and they were decidedly less than thrilled to be there. *grin*

I had a friend who recently posted pictures of her UNbirthday tea party [a la Alice in Wonderland]. It looked fantastic!

So...I got my job!!!! They can only start me training for 15 hours a week. According to my performance I will be able to get more hours. Also taking into account the days I need off for the wedding and wedding related events it's more than generous. But because of that I will be staying on at the Zone for 10 hours a week until either my hours can go up or until I can get a work study job during the Fall semester.

Chowing down on some Subway then off to my first wednesday night service in a very long time.

Came home with a very definite direction for the message tonight, a verse, and nothing else. I sat down to try to prepare it, and thought it seemed awful familiar. Went back through some of my old messages and found it...nearly word for word what I preached a couple of years ago, I was typing today. I  don't know who it's for...but I feel it strongly.  So, it's off to church. May God have His way..

:biglaugh: Wouldn't have mattered one whit. Several (7) new visitors, worship service exploded, I started preaching and got nearly instant confirmation through tongues and interpretation...Was an awesome move of God. And we had 39 total, which is a large number for midweek service for us as of late.

Oh. Yeah.  We are just a small congregation.  We've ran over 100 consistently several  times, but for the last 15 years it's been  rough. Average has been upper twenties to low 40s.  We are in a relatively small community  (around 6500 people ) and our church is not in the most visible place. My work for the p.d . helped our recognition  as did my pastor's part time gig as deputy coroner, but we still have issues with being known in the community.

And I did NOT sleep in this morning. Quite the opposite, I got up fairly early (7ish) and met with the pastor. We went to Beebe, to Bro John Scheel's church, which was having a conference. Got to hear some good preaching, and see some good men of God. While I didn't get the chance to speak with him, I did get to see one of my favorite ministers, Bro Martyn Ballestero. Just wished I could've spoken to him- his preaching has always blessed me, and now I know he is a ham operator too. Anyway- great day with the pastor, and now I'm vegging at the house.

My RM left the room on a saturday.  :o She is only going to Wal Mart but it's still so surprising. I may just sit here in shock not knowing what to do for the hour that she's gone .....

Appropriately my last Saturday having to work at the Zone and I killed it on the front counter with the boss there. He has repeatedly told me that I need to work the front to get more hours. He refused to train me too. Now I've set my schedule for Monday and Wednesday mornings and the rest of the time at Keva and he's upset. He never gave me the chance. His loss.

Anyway....every joint from my hips down are currently killing me. At points today it was taking everything in my not to cry. I hope its just the weather, but at 32 I feel I am a bit too young for such shenanigans.....

Got up today and found a cloudy day- but no rain as was forecast. So I fired up the 'vette , picked up a fellow 'vette owner, and headed for Hot Springs to a huge Corvette show. Nice and twisty 60 mile ride down, then I tormented Mini by sending him pics of the beauties, knowing he would love to be there....
When I got home I found that my carbon fiber vinyl I had ordered made it in, so I commenced to tearing apart the 'vette's console and covering it.  It came out not perfect, but decent. I may redo it later. In short, it's been a good day. I'm fixing to hit the sack since work rears its ugly head in the morning....

Now if I were someone else I would at this point make the observation that one must have legs to make a lap, so certain shorter people would be handicapped in this area...

But I'm me so I'll just observe that it would be hard to play a lap guitar when your lap is already claimed by a dog and a daughter.

Speaking of which, I'm surprised Bob didn't use that in his defense, that he must have a lap because Domino and Chey are always sitting in it.

Went to 2 different church today. Still praying about which one is home. Now onto laundry and homework.

Just 2 more week. Just 2 more weeks and I never have to see her again if I don't want to. The good news is my RM and I seem to not be speaking anymore. She was babbling to me [while I was trying to do homework] about how her boyfriend needed to get his graduate degree in history to be a librarian. I told her that was wrong because my sister is in the program at University of Tennessee. I was apparently being short with her and should understand that she's stressed about having to get a job this summer while taking classes. I told her to be working 2 jobs, planning a marriage [and wedding], planning a move, and school and we could talk about stress. She then tried to precede with an argument and I told her that arguing wasn't worth the energy and I didn't have the time. Now had this happened 10 years ago I'd be in there screaming at the top of my lungs. Maybe one day she'll grow up and realize you pick and choose your battle and some just aren't worth it.

So, I'm in the library now

TGIF... A crazy week following a crazy three months... Trying to continually give thanks for my blessings!!!!

Lamentations Chapter 3:

20 My soul hath them still in remembrance, and is humbled in me.

21 This I recall to my mind, therefore have I hope.

22 It is of the LORD'S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not.

23 They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.

24 The LORD is my portion, saith my soul; therefore will I hope in him.

25 The LORD is good unto them that wait for him, to the soul that seeketh him.

26 It is good that a man should both hope and quietly wait for the salvation of the LORD.

In other news...I kinda sorta quit my job last night. They pushed me too far and I simply walked out. I did leave a short note on the managers desk explaining why I disappeared. I just could not take it anymore and I have too much to do around here for about a week to be stuck at work and treated the way I was.

I'm gonna take a week or so, get all this moving stuff settled and then I'll go apply at this other grocery store.

It's 2:36pm, and I'm FINALLY getting to eat my lunch. Better get used to it, because it's only going to get worse before I leave with all of the handoff documentation, training new project resources, and finishing the planning documentation for the rest of the project before I leave. *sigh*

Went last night to watch my cousin's little girl play t-ball. Which is so weird because I remember going to watch my cousin play t-ball. We could have stayed on campus and watched the ETSU vs UT baseball game but 6 year olds who have no idea what they are doing is so much more entertaining. lol.

I know it's silly, but could someone send up a prayer about the weather predicted for us for saturday? The wedding shower is going to be at 5 at a pavilion at a local park. They are calling for 70% chance of rain and possible thunderstorms  :smirk2: We literally have no where else to hold the shower. Dad suggested everyone wear their bathing suits.....Lord help us.....

Weather right now is just rain and the severe stuff has fallen off the forecast. It'll be memorable at least. Tried to reach out to a few friends from different churches in Bristol but either got ignored or told if our tithe money doesn't go there then they don't care. Can't move it to the church I attend because we actually rent space from another church and it's too many hoops to jump in too short of time.

Only 1 more week of school then finals week. I'm finally going to be a sophomore in college. I've never made it this far before.

3 weeks til the circus.....I mean wedding. 3 weeks til the wedding.

Got up this morning and went to mow the church yard. Got three kinds of unrighteously angry when I discovered that some scum slobbering bottom feeding piece of lily livered trash stole my gas and gas can from the back of my truck. I had to go buy a new can and fill it up, then go mow the church lawn. If I'd found the thief, I'd have needed to spend quite a while inside the church too. Well, truthfully, I probably needed to anyway just because of the thoughts I had.
Finished that up and took Rusty for a drive, thereby cooling me down considerably. Now I'm in the "pre-dread" phase for the next workweek, and I am listening to my friend Amir from Israel coordinating disaster communications for the Nepalese earthquake...

Squirrel killer! A whole army of tree rats are now gonna surround your house and bribe the geese into showing them the secret access door. Then they will pelt your old bald head with nuts to avenge their fallen brethren. Of course nuts are nothing new to you- you've been that way for years.  :P

Ding dong, Furby is dead.

And it was NOT my fault, OR the fault of my Pink Needle Weilding Auto Parts Friend. ;)

Ok so...even though I HATED the mutt, and hated is the nice word I can use...I didn't want him to die...well, at least not just three weeks after my Dad. Mom has gone thru enough lately and Furby kicking over was not what she needed to add to everything. Here's what happened...

Yesterday, Mom was up and at em', and she was in her room moving stuff around, unpacking, whatever it was she was doing...wait, back up...this was about noonish, and Furby had spent the night in moms closet on some clothes and refused to come out...mom had called and called him all morning and he wouldn't go outside to potty or eat or do anything, he just layed in the closet. Mom thought it odd, but didn't dwell on that issue. So there she is, in her room, and I am in the living room on the couch going thru an old box of papers and sorting what to keep and what to throw away.

I hear mom turn on and move Dads hoverround and then hear her move other stuff around. Then all of a sudden, I hear the chair motor whirring and a huge crash bang thud crash bang and mom is screaming!!! It terrified me...I jump up and run in there and mom is in the floor, on her back, the hoverround wheels are spinning and it has slammed into the table she keeps the TV on. I pull a blanket off the chair and turn it off and Furby is having a fit! He is running around yelping and crying and going nuts. The TV is on the floor, mom is on the floor the whole room is just destroyed! I yelled at Furby to shut up so I could see what happend and I got mom up off the floor. She asked where Furby was, and I looked down the hall and could just see his tail inside the kitchen door. I looked and he was belly up, all four paws in the air and laying in a puddle of pee. He was not breathing.

Apparently Mom had moved the chair and didn't turn it off, so when she covered it up with the blanket, it hit the joystick and started forward and hit the TV table, knocking all that over...then mom was screaming, and sometime Furby came out of the closet and Mom fell backwards on top of him. She said he was under her back while she was on the floor. By the time I got in there she had shifted her weight and he was yelping and crying...then he went into the kitchen and fell dead. It all happened within like 2 minutes! So fast!

So mom is having a cow at this point picked up the dog and I said she needed to rinse him off since he was laying in a puddle of his own...so she takes his limp body and rinses him off in the bathtub. I run to my room and get my shoes and stuff and I tell her she better hurry so we can take him to the vet. I knew he was dead but at this point mom was carrying on so bad that I didn't have the heart to press the issue yet. She wraps him in a towel and we set out to find a vet.

Problem. It's Saturday. NO vets are open. AT ALL.

While driving around I called all the vets in a 100 mile radius and none were open. I finally convinced mom he was gone, and we called MawMaw and asked if her brother could dig a hole on their property and we bury him there. She said yes and we headed over there. All this took about two hours to convince her he really was dead. She kept crying and praying and wailing over this dog.

It was crazy. Crazy. Crazy. Now Mom is feeling the affects/effects? Of her fall and she has been impossible all day whining and complaining wanting more pain meds, That I have control of, and she isn't getting any. She's had too many already. SIGH.

So. That's my story. I promise I can't make this stuff up!

James 1:19  |  Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath:

James 1:26  |  If any man among you seem to be religious, and bridleth not his tongue, but deceiveth his own heart, this man's religion is vain.

Ephesians 4:29  |  Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.

30 And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.

31 Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice:

Ephesians 4:32  |  And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you.

When your frustrated, and stressed it's easy to say the wrong thing!! I'm trying hard not to let things get to me...however, failing that... I'm trying to keep it from showing in my attitude, and mindset!!!

QuoteHebrews 12:14,15

Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord:

Looking diligently lest any man fail of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and thereby many be defiled;

My mom has informed me that if we don't come up with the money I'm homeless. Safe to say my stress level has gotten so high that I'm just shutting down at this point. In money raising news, between emptying my owl bank and only one trip to the local used clothing store I've put about $70 in my savings account. I still have 3 totes of clothes to go and another store to go to with the leftovers. Brandon's dad as given Brandon's old car back to us to sell. He place it on craigslist this morning and already has a $400 offer on it if we will hold it til tomorrow. Slowly but surely we will get there.

2 weeks til the wedding!

I'm only working until 2pm today. This is so unusual that I checked with the store manager to make sure it was not a mistake. Didn't want to leave a shift manager hanging... He said it was intentional.

So I'm making a rather large batch of deviled eggs and going to a friend's graduation party. I had no idea people had parties to celebrate graduating college, but then my family and friends never need to have a GOOD excuse to get together with good food and sit around talking a lot.

Maybe I should put my phone on top of a bookshelf somewhere and record the audio. I have some really witty friends and family.

Well, starting day 2 of back to work. Haven't drank a Dr. Pepper in three days. And I scooted to work in my 'vette, so it's gonna be a redletter day. After church last night, I met up with my UPS delivery man to check out his latest purchase. He bought a silver Corvette, same year as mine, with only 47 thousand miles. He had me drive it- it was like driving a brand new C4 Corvette- which matters not one whit to most of y'all, but these cars are known to get rattles, ect as they age. His hasn't. I was almost jealous until I climbed back in mine and went through the gears. His automatic is just lacking something. Like a third pedal. :ugly:

adjective: secretive
(of a person or an organization) inclined to conceal feelings and intentions or not to disclose information.

verb: withhold;
refuse to give (something that is due to or is desired by another).

Not mentioning could be interpreted as withholding. :)

Though it goes against my religion to bless you JenN, I had to bless you for that.
Well.....if I hadn't checked them myself and if it hadn't driven perfect  before they aligned it I would consider that. But truthfully  I think  what happened  was that it was getting very close to quitting  time and somebody wanted to go home. So rather than test drive and check his work he gave it a slap and a prayer  and sent me down the road. I think  this because I tried to call within 10 minutes of leaving  after I discovered it and they'd already gone home for the day. And they still haven't called me back as promised and that was at 730 this morning.

Legally, I am a married woman. After a rather eventful morning Brandon and I were married by a dear friend of mine who is ordained by the state of Tennessee since apparently no one at the government offices in Sullivan County could sign for us. Did I mention he is a doctor? So we were married in exam room 1 at his family practice. I'm so glad we did all this mess today so it's not something else to stress about Thursday.

Mom told me last night that my SIL and I should whisk her away for Mother's Day. So we booked this fancy boutique hotel in Las Colinas - it's like a loft style hotel - super duper fancy. But I got an awesome rate on hotels.com. Then we're gonna wake up Sunday morning, and go get brunch, and then take her to the Butterfly House at Fair Park in Dallas! SUPER stoked!

That is so sweet!!! Unfortunately, both my Mother & I are doing poorly...lots of stress right now!!! My sister, & I had to cancel our "Day out with Mom" this Thursday due to various circumstances! Including, & not limited to; my Mother not being able to walk!!!

Please, keep her in prayer she is not in good health, fell twice this past week...She has serious foot issues...shattered bones/ broken arch from an injury from 8 years ago; plus she is a diabetic in denial; diabetes has caused some serious issues for her! The doctor told her last time that she could lose the foot....

However...in 30 plus years of life God has brought amazing healing, miracles, blessings, and mercies to, & for our family!  In the past five years they have wanted to do major surgery on Mom's foot...however, everytime God has healed the issue and brought things under control! Many of the doctor's have been amazed...and many have been sarcastic! My God is an amazing God!!!

Thanks Isaac, AssuredbyFaith, and Ruby!!! It was weird I got to call Brandon my husband today. lol. I have a feeling I'm still going to end up calling him boyfraaaaand a lot.

And to whomever has been praying for us, THANK YOU!!! I went to housing to let them copy our certificate then made my way to the bursars office to pay for our housing which we were told would be a deposit of 613 by May 15th or we wouldn't be able to move the 17th. The lady we spoke to wasn't there. Got to the window and after a lot of confusion of 4 peoples parts, we have to pay 580 by June 1st and we still get to move!!!! Granted I had it to pay today but that would have left me with only $25 to last 1.5 weeks and I don't get another paycheck til after the wedding. I almost had me a Holy Ghost shoutin fit right there but I saved it til I got to my car

Congrats, Heather! And ASF...Praying.
And in sharing- went to church last night and taught. Didn't mess up too bad I don't guess, at least I didn't have any rotten tomatoes thrown at me. That could be, however, because my church folk know that I often have a firearm within arms reach even when preaching. They might've been afraid of return fire... :P
So glad it's my Friday, even though it is supposed to rain all weekend.
And God is still a provider. Lou's Walmart goes through phases where they cut everyone's hours by a day. Don't sound like much, but the sudden loss of $100 to $150 on a paycheck really hurts the budget and is felt. She called yesterday to tell me that it was that season again. I told her not to worry, God has always provided. She told me last night that they had called her aside after her shift and asked if she could come in and work today (her day off) because they were shorthanded. There's her "missing" day and that missing money....

Being dependable REALLY helps at times like this. The person who always shows up on time, always works instead of standing around talking all day, that's the one they're going to call first when they need a fill-in. That really helps when you're wanting them to call you in.

We're looking at a few in a shelter.  Might get these two buddies they have at the shelter.  One for me and one for my husband that we will train as his service dog.  Been fighting companies too long.  He needs a buddy too.  And I need somebody to help me out so I can sleep at night.  Nightmares of war are no fun.  lol I was gonna use the s word, but I forgot about the filter here.

Ugh. Wanna trade?

The elephants upstairs don't ever just SIT DOWN!!! I mean seriously...ALLL NIGHT AND ALLLL DAY they stomp and run and thump and whatever it is they do up there. There is rarely even 20 or 30 minutes of quiet up there. I don't know when they even sit down or sleep. It's horrible. And Saturday night they must have had a party or something, and someone got sick...cause the noise didn't stop till after 3am, and when I opened the door to leave for SS, there was vomit all over the breezeway where someone leaned over the rail and let it go. Splattered all over the place right by our front door and wall. Ugh. And when we called the office we were told to clean it up ourselves. It wasn't our mess, and we don't have outside facets or hoses. How are we supposed to clean that up?

It sat there till Tuesday when I guess enough people in our building complained and they cleaned it up.

Apartment living is definetly an adjustment.

My upstairs neighbor at the previous place was the same way. Up and down and stomping, thumping, banging all kinds of racket. She'd keep me up at night and wake me up before the crack of done. Ugh. I was so done. Some days I felt like I was gonna go crazy. Now I'm on the top floor. Praise the Lord!

Well... in sharing,I did something extravagant that I'll have to eat bologna for a month to pay for. And it doesn't involve car parts or radios for once.
The other day, while at work, some obviously Apostolic ladies came through the metal detector to do a photo shoot for a line of Apostolic ladies' clothing. I got the website (daintyjewells.com) and showed Lou..she loved the dresses, skirts, and blouses, one particular dress alot. After looking at the prices- Yikes! She said it was a shame because she really liked the clothing.
Being crafty, I had heard her mention a dress size while shopping the other day and complained that they didn't have it, as it was her size. I remembered it. Armed with this info, her height,  and the knowledge that I have a bonus check coming up with which to pay off the credit card I'd have to abuse, I went to the website where I discovered that while I had a numbered size, they listed their sizes as "S" "M" "L" ect..Definitely NOT a husband friendly website. :pound:
So I emailed them, told them my dilemma and begged for advice. They replied promptly, talked with the seamstress, and emailed me back their recommendation. I ordered her a dress (the style she really liked) today. It'll be a couple of weeks before it comes in, and I think I'm gonna keep quiet about it. (She never checks here).  Lord. She better not get used to this. I can't afford $100+ a pop for clothes..
Maybe she'll see that I do love her and I do listen. Just not when she's yelling at me.   :P

I would not like apartment living a'tall.  It would just feel like being in a hotel forever.

I clean at that apartment building once a week (condos technically, individually owned units, but in an apartment building setup, same diff...) and you can hear people inside their apartments when you're in the hall and stuff.  I don't even like houses that are right next to each other.  I need a buffer zone, the bigger the better. lol

And in other news, continue to pray for poor dad.

Just lately he's suffering what I think in part seems to be anxiety, over not being able to spit stuff out of his throat.  He spits and splutters constantly and feels like his throat is closing up or he's choking or something....  The vast majority of what he spits is just plain saliva, and I think he's just working himself up into a frenzy over it.  He sits in the same chair 24 hours a day and never does anything, never has anything that occupies his mind or his time besides his suffering.  He's seeming more confused and literally crazy acting sometimes lately, which could be him just driving himself nuts over things...I don't know.

His throat my feel weird because of the nerve issues he has and like something is in it, I have no way of saying.  And there are no solutions any doctor has ever offered or anything.  He's had short term spells of being afraid of choking to death in the past at various different times, but the last little while he seems like he's just ate up with the preoccupation of things, and I suspect the stresses are just driving him nuts.

It drives all of us nuts.  Mom has been down sick with the flu and me and my sister had to take turns staying with him all the time.  Within the last couple months he had went through some other sicknesses himself and they wore him down.  I think all these things coupled together are just eating him up mentally and he's getting beside himself.

He has real physical problems, I've no doubt, but I think he is fretting some of them into being more than they are.  He can drop off to sleep and sleep soundly without any appearance of trouble or difficulty.  It seems to me if he was literally choking to death he wouldn't be able to sleep.

He needs peace and relief, as do we all, badly.  He cries out for help or begs to be helped or hollers Lord help me or what not...and there's nothing we can do in that regard to fix his problem, but take it to the Lord.

We are at the end of the rope, so pray the Lord moves in.

Lung, chest wall area on his back...  The last chemo and radiation he had were done around last of Feb or early March.  He's had the spitting issues ever since the shingles rendered him unable to swallow a year and a half ago.

Yup - this is what it said "Sorry, you can't repeat a karma action without waiting 1 hours."

So last week they had put dad on a water pill to get swelling out of his feet....  Then yesterday the nurse said that was what was making his secretions drier and harder to spit out and whatever....  So that made sense cause this past week is when he has grown so terrible with this.  So they said cut it in half....  I said forget it...I don't even want to give anymore of it for right now at least, let it get out of his system....  Just while ago I was awakened by him coughing and hollering for help.  The water pill is not worth the constant misery an agony....Lord have mercy.

Got free breakfast this morning. Took my dad out to a friends deli. They do homemade everything. They gave us breakfast for free and said it was a pre-wedding gift.

Now I need to finish up some craftiness for tomorrow. Rehearsal tonight. I can't believe it's here!!!

Me too, Heather! Congrats!

I'll never get married. My ship sailed already and sank like a brick. I'll be stuck living with my mother and my cat till I'm 73.

In cat news...I'm trying to get ahold of the vet but the line has been busy all morning. Knut needs his shots, neutered and declawed. I'm gonna try to get him an appointment next week and get it all done at once.

In apartment news, when I posted last about the elephants returning, they were here thumping and jumping for a couple hours, and seriously, not ONE PEEP since then. I am scared to hope that they moved and I didn't know it. And maybe that last noise was them getting the last of the stuff out.

I'll have to ask the more "nosy" neighbors that know all the comings and goings around here.

I think that is all.

For now.

Mom is in ICU on the ventilator. She had a seizure this afternoon and I had to call the ambulance. The seizures have been almost continuous for several hours and we stayed (me and my cousin/Pastors wife) as long as they would allow us and I called back up there to check and they said she calmed down quite a bit awhile after we left.

We think it is drug related.

She also may have C-diff (sp?) that's a bad GI infection. We won't know till tomorrow.

I'm gonna try to sleep now. I came home and cleaned and disinfected everything just in case. I'm tired but my brain is racing.

Please pray. I can't take anything else bad happening right now or I will run far far away.

I'm awake. Been up most of the night. Don't know what to do. Can't visit the ICU till 8, and I forgot to leave them my phone number last night and I'm scared to call up there this morning cause if they just say I need to come up there I'm gonna flip out. That's what they did with dad. They called us in and walked us down to the waiting area and told us he was gone. They can't tell you on the phone and I'm scared.

I'm so sorry. Praying for y'all.

Dina's littlest one had the croup so bad last night that she and papaw took him to the emergency room.  It's hard to see a little one not be able to breathe. It's also no fun to shell out $500 for an emergency room visit. Poor things.

Mel, I'm praying....
And in sharing- I got drenched this morning. We had an elderly ill member of our church pass Tuesday night. They are having the funeral Monday and I haven't mowed the church yard in nearly two weeks because of the nonstop rain. So, I when I took Chey to school, I carried the lawn mower with me.
Of course it started raining before I could unload the mower. And it appeared like it would rain all day- in fact the last forecast I saw predicted it to be all day.  It had to be done, though, so there this idiot was, mowing in the rain. I did use my police raincoat, although it helped little.
And par for the course, within minutes of me finishing and loading up, dripping wet, the rain stops. :pound:

Update: I just left the hosp to get some rest. Mom has stopped seizing so much and is resting better. Results from EEG they did earlier won't be back till this evening. I'll go back up there then. There isn't anything to to do but wait. But drs say she is doing better.

There is hope.

Meanwhile I gotta finish cleaning this apartment (mostly moms room and laundry) and get it straight so I CAN rest and not have to do anything.

Dad declared last night that he was dying and wasn't going to last the night.  He had various complaints of this, that, and the other.  Then he calmed down and was quiet for the night, has slept quite a bit today....  He hadn't slept much the last couple days.

From the best I can tell it seems like he's having anxiety attacks, or going crazy, or both.

Shew.  Help us, Lord.

I'm eating something for lunch that I hope it not rotten.  Some leftovers that I forget what day they are from.  They don't taste rotten, so I'm hoping for the best.

I just stepped outside, stood there for a while, then came back in laughing so hard I had tears. I saw a woodpecker perch on the light pole out by the road. He pecked around a bit on the pole, inched up, pecked a bit, inched up... then he got to the top and he stopped and looked around for a good long time. You could almost hear him thinking "What in the world kind of tree is this?!"

Today I was supposed to work both jobs. I got through AutoZone and felt absolutely terrible. Came home and my fever was well over 100. We finally got it to break around 730 this evening. Safe to say I didn't make it to Keva and they were beyond nice about covering my shift. I joke with Brandon we are already working on that in sickness and in health part of our vows.

Also here is a picture from after our wedding for those who don't have FB. It's a picture snapped on his sisters phone. I haven't seen any from our photographer yet.

Preached my heart out on "Destroy it...before it destroys you", basically on sin in our lives.... Our first time visitor sat on the back pew glaring at me with his arms crossed. I actually wondered if he were gonna come punch me, but he didn't. Hopefully God spoke to him. Not content with getting one piece of expensive equipment buried in the mud, I went and got the Canyon and stuck it too. Started on sticking Rusty, but escaped before he went down. Neighbor brought his 4x4 side-by-side over and pulled all of my stuff out of the mud while laughing at me.
I also got Chey's gokart fixed and she's enjoyed it immensely. Now to enjoy my weekend..

Probably good that you weren't there to witness me "slamcussing' as one old saint referred to it. I throw things when I'm angry.. :sadbounce:
And re:visitor- No. Simply got up and walked out after the service. He'd came with his grandmother, a sweet old lady that appears to hold high standards, yet bounces from church to church-literally.
She'll go to our church for a month or so, then on to the next, not discriminating between Trinity or Oneness,Apostolic or Charasmatic. She does the same at all of them and we see her one or two months a year, I guess when it's our turn in rotation. She worships, participates in the service and is generally the perfect saint- if she'd just stay.
She came up and told me how much the sermon moved her and touched her. I was appreciative and hope when she says it "moved her" she didn't mean it moved her to the next church in her rotation... :laughhard:
It is beautiful, sunny, and cool today. Around 65 ish...Rusty, Chey and I shall go to town. I might splurge and cook a large chunk of dead cow on the grill this evening. :hypocrite:

I planted some tomato seed things yesterday. Gotta go water them this morning, it says to keep them very wet till the first sprouts show up. We will see if I can grow tomatoes. I hope so. :fork:

It rained real good last night here too...but it looks to be another fine hot sunny day today.

That is all.

You must not have a porch?... All the apartments here have French doors that lead to a porch with iron fence around each. You have to go thru the apt to get to the porches. I love it. We have our grill out there and my lawn chair and now plants. The plants from dad's funeral were choked and crowded and so I repotted them and now I have my tomato plant so the porch is looking quite nice. :)

I'm pleased.

Triple post...

The upstairs apartment is still empty, but now the maintaince guys have been stomping and clomping around while they are painting and stuff. So far though, no sign of any new elephants.

I'm going to walmart to get a few things.

That, again, is all.

No - no patio in my new place. I decided to forgo the patio in lieu of a sun-room. SO glad I did - the sun literally (well when it's not stupid raining as it's been for the past 234583 days) FLOODS the living area & sunroom. I am IN love with it. So I get the sun - just don't have the "outside". lol

In apartment news we know that we have neighbors beside us. Their bedroom is wall to wall to ours. My only comment was at least we know it's MARRIED housing. *cough cough*

I'm still sick. You would think my face would eventually run out of boogies, but alas.....

We went to see Brandon's mom this evening. She has both our dogs supposedly on a temporary basis. One of her dogs had to be put down yesterday due to a long list of reasons. She's already saying that my dog is now hers. I know she'll take care of her though so it's ok with me.

Apartment news is that no sooner had I stated that we didn't have anyone upstairs yet, I was out on the patio with Mom and I heard someone up on the patio above us...a few minutes later, this 18 mo old baby ran by, headed to the pool with her mama in hot pursuit yelling at her to stop...when she caught her and came back by our patio, I realized it's a friend of mine that I worked with at the hospital years ago...we have remained FB friends and I saw that she was moving this week, but didn't know she would be my new upstairs neighbor!! Yay! She is a single mom and the best part is, she keeps mostly to herself and she has been up there all day and I've only heard a few thuds.

I've already invited her to church. :thumbsup2:

Two things I bought at WM today, made me vaugely remember something from GP past...
Cherry 7up. It was on sale. $3 for a 12 pack so I bought one. Haven't had any in forever, and I somehow remember someone on here loving it...Sis? Taco? Who was it?
An electric toothbrush...was it me that had the possessed toothbrush that would randomly turn on in the middle of the night or was it someone else? I think it may have been me but I don't remember...it may have been Ashlee too...for some reason I think of her when I recall that story...

Anyway...yeah.

That is all.

I walk quietest whilst barefoot.

In apartment news, our water heated decided to flood our closet and seep out into our bedroom. Oh the joys of just calling maintenance to come fix it and clean it up. Thank ya Jesus!!

Brandon has a Sunday off tomorrow and is coming to church with me. He hasn't been to my new church yet but he does know some of the people.

As of Monday I'm possibly putting in my 2 week notice at AutoZone.

Well, in my "do-something-constructive" mood, I managed to get around to doing a chore that I've put off for 5 years or better. See, Dad had loaned our utility trailer to someone who managed to destroy the tail lights- both of them. Complete with ripping the wiring out. I've been hampered by the no taillights on the trailer thing every since. Mainly because if I get up town, to mow the church yard for instance, and don't get done in time to get home by dark I am running the risk of being ran over.
Today, I actually installed new taillights and rewired the trailer. I now can use it after dark.
Yeah, for you super achievers that's not much but for me it was incredible.

Love the closet organization! I haven't even unpacked all my clothes yet. Between illness and the water heater and the lack of space, it's been a mess. I plan on tackling it today though. The living room and kitchen is pretty much unpacked. Things still need to be put on the walls. The 'office' is currently full of boxes. I figure we don't need it until school starts so I can take my time in there.

This is my 3rd night sleeping on the couch. I wake up in a coughing fit about an hour after going to sleep. I'm always worried I'm going to wake Brandon up. This morning was his first morning not having to be up before 6 am. When we did both get up this morning I sent him with my tip money to Krispy Kreme for donuts

Speaking of water heaters... does anyone have any information on those on-demand water heaters? Pros? Cons? I know it will take getting an electrician out to rewire stuff - it's not something you can just plug in to the existing water heater circuit. But there's also no tank to rust out and flood the floor.  Or are they prone to rupture?

Does anyone know?

Last night was not good. The storm that came through blew off shingles from the roof again. Then Lou calls as soon as I get home, she's stuck at church with a car that won't run. I get back up there and get it to run to get it home, but it's acting up again, and the "google" results for the symptoms are NOT encouraging. I had to drive the 'vette in, so Lou could drive my truck, and it's supposed to storm like crazy today. I fail to understand why a car cannot run normally for more than a year around our place. I'm fanatical about maintenance, and Lou's car doesn't have 83k miles on it yet.

I have come to accept it as a fact of life that a car will break down at least once a year. Alternator, water pump, ball bearing, something gonna go out every once in a while. I just have to get used to it.

In local news my church went up to the Tennessee district campground last weekend, mostly to just hang out. A good time was had by all, or at least I didn't hear anyone complaining. Multiple questions about when we gonna do that again? Our campground is busy almost every week of the year - pastor been trying to schedule this trip since February and it only now went through - so who knows when we'll get it again, but it was fun. Most of the fun I had was sitting at a table listening to people talk, and if you think I'm being sarcastic you oughta hear some of these people talk. I'd pick listening to them over any TV show or movie ever made.

Missed church last night due to attending a funeral. A friend and former co-workers father passed away. Melissa has become like a sister to me. Especially in the aspect that my parents take her to amusement parks and etc and leaves me at home. [Kinda like when they took my sister to DC last year and convienantly left me out so I could stay and dogsit  Our family dynamic is so weird....]. Her father had been a cranky old man for years and years. Due to the after effects of being sprayed with Agent Orange in Vietnam and years upon years of not taking care of his diabetes he'd been in the hospital more that out of it the last year. He had been in hospice care at the VA the last 2 months. But back to my point, I hate funerals. Especially funerals around here. Most of the ones I've had to go to in the past few years have been done by baptist ministers who didn't even know the family. One service the poor guy didn't even attempt to pronounce her name right after repeatedly being told by the family how to say it and one lady even wrote it phonetically for him.  I can't deal with the song Amazing Grace because after my nana and then another lady like a mamaw to me passed and it was played at both funerals I can't deal with it. Go Rest High on That Mountain, everytime it plays my mom says she wants it played at her funeral which is something I don't want to think about. Then I Can Only Imagine, which as a pentecostal that song has bothered me since day one. I don't have to imagine what I would do in God's presence because I experience regularly being filled with the Holy Ghost. GRRRRRRR!!!! Rant over.....

Just let me conclude that I am very grateful after last night to be a pentecostal and I hope there is a Holy Ghost dance party if I were to pass before the rapture at my funeral.

It was all over my FB, but for those who don't know...I slipped in a puddle in WM and sprained my ankle. I thought I broke my wrist for awhile, but the X-Ray showed it had a light sprain too. :smirk2:

But, in other news, I got a big pot and I'm planting watermelons in a container tomorrow. My tomatoes have sprouts and so I thought I would try watermelons. Thanks to Pinterest, I now know it's possible to grow them in a container garden and train them to grow vertically. When the fruit starts getting bigger, you support them with pantyhose made into sort of a hammock tied to the vertical support. It looks simple enough. I watched several YouTube videos and I think I can handle it. Of course I got the smaller breed of melons. Sugar baby melons.

We will see.

In apartment news, my new neighbor is quiet 80% of the time. When we do hear her, she is NOT as noisy as the last people. Plus, she is off for the next two weeks, so she moved in, stayed a few days, packed up and went to see her mom out of state. She won't be back till NEXT Friday.

We got a great neighbor! ;)

That is all. My leg/ankle hurts so I'm gonna try to go back to sleep.

I'm still alive, despite the best efforts of my boss. I usually work 9:30 - 16:30, but he asked me to work until 22:00.   A manager seems to have quit without telling anyone she was leaving which resulted in big gaping holes in the schedule. Twelve and a half hours there is too much but I worked it anyway. Gonna get overtime this week.

Don't you just hate it when a manager quits without notice? What, that never happens where you work? Happens all the time here...

Last night was the first night in the 2.5 weeks we've lived here that I slept the entire night in our bed without waking up constantly. Thank ya Jesus!!

Work, then to Bristol for a funeral. It seems like I'm going to these weekly. It's depressing.

Grew up eating at the Morrilton Drive In. Used to have one of the most awesome BBQ sandwiches known to man. Sadly, they have changed some things. We ate there for Chey's school graduation, but it wasn't all that and it cost nearly $40 for the three of us. They do have a good fried shrimp plate though...
The other two, no, I haven't .

Planted another tomato plant/seed pod.

I used the miracle grow seed pods for the watermelons and got sprouts in three days. So I'm trying a cherry tomato pod for this new pot. I really like this container garden thing. I just wish it would hurry an produce fruit! I'm very impatient!

Other than that I've been quiet cause there isn't much to say. I stay home with mom and look after her. I'm controlling all her meds now so she doesn't OD again. She is down to THREE pain pills a day. That is a HUGE step for her since she was taking up to 9-10 a day for YEARS. And she is actually getting up and doing things some too. That's also huge for her. She isn't laying in bed 24-7 like always. I've been pushing her a lot to get up and get moving. Next weeks goal is we are getting her into the pool for some water excersize.

That's pretty much it. Church tonight. Oh, and it's dad's birthday today. I think mom forgot and I haven't mentioned it to her. I made a dump cake for us in honor of his day, but mom hasn't realized why I did it yet. I'm not gonna tell her. She dwells on his death too much lately anyway. I try not to remind her if I can help it.

 Shew.
I is tarred. Made it through the day and got home. Bro Wilson mentioned last night that he needed a hand replacing a toilet at the church tomorrow, and since we'd be there, we needed to weedeat the ditch in front of the church and mow. Not wanting to spend all day tomorrow sweating, I went up town tonight, mowed, and weedeated. Now I am whipped...got way to hot. But at least that is done and I don't have to worry about doing it tomorrow, or worse, Bro Wilson trying to help out and overdoing it, thereby hurting himself.

Worked 11.5 hours at work today. About half an hour before I was supposed to leave we found out someone who was supposed to be there tonight called and said she quit. Well gee thanks...

On the way home I stopped by the house of a guy I didn't know (friend of a friend) to look at his computer. He thought I'd have to wipe out Windows and replace it, but his problem was Internet Explorer. He didn't know you could use a browser to go to different places. All he knew was click on the yahoo icon on the desktop and you get yahoo. So I set him up three new shortcuts (yahoo, ebay and craigslist) that invoke a different browser, to replace the three old shortcuts that invoke IE. Actually the new shortcuts use Chrome because it was already there and it was late and I was tired and I didn't want to download and install Firefox on his really slow computer.

I tried to tell him I didn't really do anything all that great but he still thinks I'm a genius. I can live with that.

Now I'm down to only 2 shifts at AZ. Due to crazy circumstances my last day got bumped up to the 10th. Keva is firing the other new person. Originally they were going to cut him to only 2-3 days, but he frankly is not the brightest bulb in the box and will be let go as of noon today. Oh and the 2 full-time employees have both asked off for time in the next few weeks. We run with only 5-6 employees as it is, so yea.

Also on the job front Brandon has found a position to transfer into. Instead of a 45 minute commute he will be working 6 blocks away and is being promoted to a management spot.

Mel- if what we ate was an example, I'm surprised it was not number one. Absolutely one of the best places we ate on that vacation. :fork: Oh, and Book of Sharing ahead....
It's been a busy, but a good day. Chey and I got up around 8:30 and loaded up in Rusty. Mini had mentioned a waterfall north of Russellville he'd found online, and I'd never heard of it, so I set out to find it. After a drive to Russellville (30 minutes) another drive north of Russellville, (45 minutes) then 15 minutes east, then 5 miles down a dirt road, we found it. Absolutely beautiful, although short. A Ozark Mountain spring fed creek flowed swiftly, then tumbled over a 10 to 15 foot drop into a crystal clear pool between 50 to a 100 feet in circumference and about 5 foot deep at its deepest. Made for a perfect swimming hole, and even had a tree limb with a rope swing for swinging out over the falls.  :thumbsup2:
We hadn't brought Chey's swimming clothes, but since it was just us, I let her strip down to panties and t shirt and dive in. After she splashed and played for an hour or so, we loaded back up and hit the road. Spent the rest of the day running back roads and found ourselves over halfway to Branson, Missouri. :o
We turned back though, and headed for home, stopping at a ghost town for pics, then in a small country town for pics by a vintage CocaCola sign painted on a wall.
On the way home, we watched a lady on the motorcycle in front of us have a blow out, stopped and gave her and her husband a hand, then came home, where we stopped at our little general store and found that they had received an order of REAL CANE SUGAR GLASS BOTTLED DR.PEPPER! :clap2: I bought all they had  but 5 bottles  that were in the cooler. No sense being greedy . :hypocrite:
Then, I came home, and while Chey played at a friend's house, I fixed the loose shingles, mowed the yard, and loaded the trailer full of aluminum and other metal to haul to the junkyard tomorrow. I'm whupped.
After I make the junkyard run tomorrow, I am gonna do nothing more strenuous than working on a message for Wednesday night.

In my sharing today: as a result of working six days a week for months now, I ran out of bread some time last week. The manager in charge of scheduling acted like giving me tomorrow off was a feat rivaled only by the trials of Hercules, but I got tomorrow off for the specific purpose of making bread.

Right now the whole house smells like eggs. And vinegar. I pickled more than 8 dozen. Dad was in from Kentucky for a blood drive right here in our little town so I sent a good 4 dozen home with him. Uncle Fred and I will have the rest gone in no time. I figured out if you bring the vinegar and whatever to a boil and put the eggs in while it's hot you get pickled eggs a lot faster than if you put the eggs in cold vinegar and whatever and let it sit in the fridge for a few weeks.

Now we are at the library. And, I have gotten disgusted with my dial up which is getting slower, and they are charging more for it. So I made a call today and tomorrow we are getting satellite internet. Just as cheap, but faster. And if it storms, I'll just read a book.

LOL. The guy I spoke to in order to get the new internet told me I was only the 2nd person in ten years to tell him I had dialup.
That's why I spend so much time online- at a whopping 26 kpbs, I'm waiting for the pages to load, and any pic or video is almost guaranteed a no go. Strangely, the new speedy internet will probably reduce the amount of time I spend online.  :ugly:

Mom wants cable, and I want internet.

I have been limited to just internet on my iPhone for several years now. Except the 9 months I spent in FL with my cousin and they had wifi. That was nice.

Our blue ray players have wifi compatibilities so if we do get internet, I WILL be subscribing to netflix. Yes Lord. I miss me some Netflix. I have it on my phone, using an app and my cousins subcription...but my data package "unlimited" means just a mere 2.5gigs. Not enough to even bother loading netflix. That's like getting only 30 minutes of YouTube videos. Nada. Ugh.

I blow thru my data pretty quickly most months.

It's stupid.

Poor Ducklady....
I went and got my weedkiller, mixed it up and sprayed it....hoping I didn't inhale some or something as I'm not feeling the best now. But last night I had a bout of stomach sickness, so I figure it's just something I ate. Waiting on Lou to bring home the bacon- she went to the grocery store- so I can finish preparing dinner. Easy and delicious....chicken tenders, liberally sprinkled with garlic powder and onion powder, then rolled in brown sugar and wrapped in bacon. Broil those bad boys and we'll be knockin' out anyone who get in the way...:fork:

Funny you should mention weed killer. I sprayed weed killer around stuff in the yard yesterday. When I bought it I walked into TSC and said to the first salesman I saw, "I need weed killer and I want something that will kill everything green and keep it killed for a long time." He immediately said, "Shredder." So I got a bottle of Shredder and sprayed it yesterday. When I came home from work today the weeds were already a nicely baked brown. The label claimed it would kill seeds in the ground too. We'll see in a few months.

Had a brief shower here too, which was to be expected as it came through within 30 minutes of me spending $10 cleaning and detailing the 'vette. Ran into my sisters at Walmart for the first time in months. Conversation turned to church and I extracted the promise that they would try to come Sunday or Wednesday a week....They were raised in church as was I, but have been out for 30+ years. But Taste of Dallas was awesome. I had a corn on cob, an amazing street taco, steak on a stick (Texas de Brazil), salsa & queso, mango on a stick, avocado fries, sweet potato fries and a funnel cake. They had to roll me home.

Mary had a little lamb
Some lobster and some prunes
A chocolate shake, a slice of pie
And then some macaroons
It made the waiters shake their heads
To see her order so
And when they carried Mary out
Her face was white as snow

Seriously though, that sounds like a wonderful thing, Taste of Dallas. Glad you enjoyed it and I wish I could have been there.

That's funny.  Seems like they wouldn't stay fresh.

My thought as well, but I assumed they had a night shift to make up some for your late night cupcake craving.

Well they're replenished daily. So not really any different than if you went in the cupcake store at the end of the day and got the last round of cupcakes.

:hi: Woke up dragging today. Didn't get better all day. And as expected, the woman trying to buy Lou's car did not have the credit to do so. Didn't keep the salesman from trying to sell us a car though. The salesman is my friend but he kinda ticked me off. When I look up the trade in value on my car before going there and then have someone who claims to be my friend, not just a salesman, offer me 1500 to 2k less than blue book trade in value...well, it ticked me off. Not gonna trade with him I'm thinking. Sad thing is, they have exactly what we would like- a slightly used (30k miles) Chrysler 300C with the hemi..but we aren't agreeing on the price. Oh well. Like I told Lou, we don't need to trade anyway.
And off the subject, they claim rain is likely all week. Ticks me off- it could hold up a week and let my swap meet be dry.:pound:

Hey everyone. It's been probably 7 years or so since I've been active at all on here. Mind if I step back in the mix?

I remember most of you :) I'm just really needing a positive area to come back to.

Hola!!

I've been petsitting the last few days and realized I hadn't gotten my laptop out at all. This is a new house for me. Home of the fattest pitbull [but also the sweetest dog ever!] and ugliest dachshund I've ever seen. However I'm concerned for their momma because she is at the beach in NC that had 2 shark bites in the same day. I told her she better keep her arms out of the water.

Brandon spent the better part of a week trying to fix his sister's car. I didn't see him for at least 5-6 days. Of course she didn't want to buy what was needed and just wanted it done cheap. So her and her husband turned around and went and bought a new Nissan  :smirk2: You took all that time from me....are you serious? I could strangle just about any member of his family and feel little to no remorse.

It was nice not to have to get up and go to AZ yesterday morning. Also today got my first check from Keva with all my normal hours I'll be working there. I can't remember the last time I'd gotten a check over $300. Thank ya Jesus!

Thanks, Fuzzy :) It's always nice to come back around where I can actually feel comfortable. Sometimes it's just so tiring when people argue with you over certain basic things that I know to be true. Always good to be around people who believe the same and support each other.

I guess I should mention that my old name on here was apostolic_girl04...

I've heard of those cupcake vending machines. I think they may have one around here and I think they keep them fresh by having some type of a cooling system and they refill/replace them pretty frequently. I'm going on a special "diet" soon and I won't be able to have cupcakes :(

Girrrrllll love Aldi. Their produce isn't half bad either. I can get sooo much stuff there for less than $50. lol

It was right at 60 for us. Only complaint I have is Brandon tried to make burgers last night with our beef from there. Didn't work too well. I had bought lean for making tacos but I guess that's what I get for leaving him in charge of dinner while I was at work and not telling him as much. However, the food we did purchase will feed us in theory for at least the next week if not longer.

Now I have to ask... how did burgers not work out too well? I know if you use Wal-Mart ground beef it turns out like fast food burgers (but weirder.) Did Aldi beef cook up like Wal-Mart stuff?

And if we're comparing expenditures I might possibly have spent a rather large sum at Aldi. I'm a bit ashamed of how much I spent but I have enough chocolate to last me a good long time$118

If it's lean meat- it doesn't stick together as well unless you add egg or some kind of binder.
