Since there is pretty much only one thread going, it probably doesn't matter much now.

I did post on the other thread about being rebellious, however I do not care who the leader is. I will continue posting regardless!!!

Still on the meds. Shew.

I never thought I'd be so sad to be out of broccoli.......

Well. Everyone got quiet. :pound:
Hmm...Been a busy weekend. Started off by going to Ozark for a church service- got to hear Bro Rick Treece flat make a flattop guitar talk, and good preaching too. Then last night was an hour and a half each way drive to a tiny little Christian school to see Chey play her first volleyball game. She made a couple of real good serves, and I was proud of my punkin..
Then today, I mowed the yard for the last time this year, I hope- and picked up Scrawny, aka Chey's friend, who delights in calling me a fat dump. I am SO going to have fun denying him any opportunity to date my daughter in a few years.  :P  :laughhard:
All in all, a good weekend. Sadly, I must return to work tomorrow. :sadbounce:

Today was work. No one wants smoothies when it's pouring rain outside. So it was rather boring and uneventful.

Trying to come up with any excuse possible to NOT go to Brandon's family function tomorrow. I can't even use church as an excuse as it is a 3 minute drive away. The party [for a man who HATES parties] is at 12 and church doesn't start til 2:30. Sigh....

Brandon had a freak out moment. It was already decided I'm heading out of town because he couldn't get off work to do the family function thing [my side] next weekend. They changed his schedule and put him off all weekend. He went back and explained to his supervisor he HAD to work because I wasn't going to be home. lol. They fixed it.

:ugly:

There are more nerds at one of those than I have ever experienced elsewhere.  Apple fans think they have it, computer geeks think they have it, but ham nerds are the uppermost of the upperclassmen of nerdish behavior.

If they have social skills they are GEEKS, not NERDS. And I know some hams that I know for a fact have more social skills than I.

We, as usual, are being blamed for something we are innocent in.. :hypocrite: Innocent of all charges.
But, I'm glad you went. Even though it was probably just to keep Robbie from bringing the hamfest home with him.....

Could be worse. I know some people who play golf. There's a money pit for ya.

Then there's the guy who has 36 world of warcraft accounts, plays them all as a one-man-guild. More than $5700 per year in monthly subscription fees alone, not to mention whenever they put out an expansion pack he has to go get 36 copies of it.

Excellent church today! Plus Sis Lewis told me I dress very Eurpopean! Not the first time I've been told that. lol.

Other than church I've been crocheting and watching Criminal Minds on Netflix.

Headache and med free for 2 days now! PLUS sunshine made an appearance today.

It was a bit chilly here today. If this keeps up, swimming won't be on the agenda next weekend. Lol

I worked a craft fair Saturday and the wind was so bad! I should have worn something on my ears and I would have if I had of known the wind was gonna be so bad, but we sold so much fudge and lemonade and ice cream it was crazy. Had a line at our table ALLL DAY. I was worn out when I got home.

Today we had great church and ten I went to my favorite Chinese Buffett. Mom did go to church so I picked her up some mcds on the way home, per her request.

Catching up on The Walking Dead show now. On Netflix.

That is all.

Cool here too....at least for me. And we had a tragedy last night. Chey's fish that I won at the fair went to see Jesus. Chey is heartbroken and the only thing that consoled her was me promising to buy her another one...
And now I am back at work. Bah.

Oh no lol - how did said fish die? Poor thing.

It's been cool(ish) here too. Between high 60's and low 70's at night, and low 80's during the day. That's "cool" to we Texans lol....
Went to the zoo Saturday morning and it was sooo lovely.

No idea how fishie passed. It was fine yesterday when she left for church and floating when we come in. I almost suspect that the air pump hose may have worked out and didn't put enough oxygen in the water. It look like the water level was a bit low..

I barely squeaked by with a passing grade on my test Friday [as in 1 more point lower and I would have failed]. However the class average was only 4 points higher than my score. The teacher was very apologetic and ensured us that she will adjust her teaching method as it is her first semester teaching.

I did however make another 100 on my prob and stats test today!!

I got the closest I have ever gotten to killing my husband today. Speaking of my husband he has decided to quit smoking [again...] and thankfully will be going through the throws of withdrawal while I am away this weekend. He will be using patches but dear Lord I hope he really quits this time.

4 days til adventure!

Thankfully next semester is going to be mostly requirements for Gen Ed. Biology, History 2, English, Speech. I'm only taking 1 class in my majors. I realized I'd mostly only done things in my majors and didn't want to end up in my upperclass years and having nothing fun left to take.

:hi: Chey has a new fish...a male betta. And I am back at work.  For some reason,  I didn't  sleep well last night- I suspect  it is because  sinus issues have kept me from using my sleep apnea  machine. And this morning's weight check shows me as being down another pound. I'm almost to where  my old inaccurate scale said I was...for real. Over 30 lbs lost..

Brandon is sick.  :smirk2: Luckily I found one of the few guys who prefers to be left alone when sick instead of being attached to their significant other. I looked at him this morning and he said 'nope. you are leaving tomorrow. don't kiss me. you're not getting sick too.' Of course Mr 'i'm buying patches to quit smoking' also went out first thing to buy a pack.  Because that's going to help your hacking cough and crazy sinuses.....

Homework done. Laundry in the dryer. Class at 215. Then it's packing, car checking/cleaning, and apartment cleaning.

:hi: Woke up with my hip hurting. Lord, I feel like an eighty year old. Took Chey to school, stopped and washed the Corvette, only for it to pour down rain ten minutes later.  I then regretted  driving the Corvette,  as I had to hoist myself in and out of it running errands. I did get the weeks grocery  shopping done, and now I'm sitting in my chair nursing my hip that  feels like it's on fire. I suspect  it is my siatic nerve giving me some of the pain...

I'm up drinking coffee, and I've cleaned the kitchen this morning. We were so tired last night that I left the dishes and we both were in bed by 9:30 and asleep by 10. I kinda had a bad night, I hope I didn't disturb Heather too badly, I coughed quite a bit. :smirk2:

I'm about to sneak in there and get my clothes so I can take a shower. Not sure if she is awake or not...I could be a creeper and sit on my bed and watch her sleep... Lol

I got home around 1 am my time [est] last night. Brandon took a turn for the worse and with everyone [me, his parents, my parents] being out of town I was worried about him. Plus not only was it our first time being apart in our 5 months of marriage, I realized on my drive back it was my first trip without him in almost 5 years. Next trip, he is going with me.

I'm so tired I should still be asleep, but I never stopped and ate a meal on the drive back and my stomach is very persistent that it needs food right now! Then it will be back to sleep for at least a few more hours.

While I like all three of those-No. Just no. Not one of them has a song that compares, in my mind, to Kenny singing "The Lighthouse" "Two Winning Hands" or his signature song, "Call Me Gone".

He was good, and call me gone was good... But there are others just as good, & a few - steady there Bobby, don't pass out - that are even better.

But although Lenny LeBlanc is not better, he is just as good. You have to admit "say a prayer" is an awesome song.

Yeah, say a prayer is okay, but to me not near some others. But that's the beauty of differing tastes. It would be a boring life if everyone thought like me- although I DO think it would be a better life.  :laughhard: :laughhard:

And in sharing for anyone who is still alive in my world- I am apparently sadistic. Lou has been whining for bread, and Chey for Buttermilk Pie, both of which are my favorite to make - and eat. :fork:
So I'm making both of the items, knowing full well that the most of either I can eat is a tiny slice, and even that will probably be 200 calories each. The things I do for the ones I love.....:sadbounce:

I actually figured up everything in the pie.....1'8 of he pie slice is actually only around 115 calories, thanks to the cut back on the amount of sugar...instead of a cup and a half, I use 1/2 a cup to 3/4 a cup...

Got to come home early today. Kinda in an irritable mood. I've had to make myself be nice today. I wouldn't mind crawling off into a mountain cabin away from folks for a week or so. And truthfully, they would probably like that too...
Gotta go teach Bible study too.

Made it through yesterday. Church last night was awesome- I didn't get to teach because we had an awesome move of God. But now, I'm back at work. Slightly miffed because my wife let Chey play her into taking a sick day today- "her tummy hurt and she was running a fever". No, she wasn't- she started laying groundwork last night to  do this. Funny nothing hurt when she was playing with kids, but she gets sick right at bedtime. I even checked this morning to ensure that she didn't have a fever, as I get paid to take off sick days and Lou won't on her first sick day.  After I'm halfway to work, I get a text from Lou that she's taking off because Chey's sick. Made me mad. Lou and Chey both decided they wanted a day off. I wouldn't care but now I have to juggle around the bills because of the missing day's pay. And that's my rant.
Fortunately it is Friday for me.

Sometimes you just need a day. And you pay for it later, but it was all worth it on that specific day. Especially as a woman....young or old lol.....Not to play devil's advocate. :hypocrite:

Off to drink my ginger peach tea and work on my Constructivism paper that was due last Sunday. *cough*
And hopefully also start my Art Deco one.

Well the good news is all the gunk is breaking free after only 3 days [thanks to my days working at the ole CVS and being very pro-active], but the bad part is I sound so much worse than I feel. My voice is all gravely, I'm wheezing when I breath, and I'm coughing a lot. Oh and blowing my nose too. I've started carrying a roll of toilet paper with me as it is more backpack friendly than a box of Puffs Plus.

I'm scheduled to work the next 2 sundays. I'm not happy. As my shift is 1-6 and we have church at 2:30. I miss everything. Also missed church last night due to work running late and my exhaustion. Thankful for only 1 class today and being off on Saturday at least that way I can rest.

Been hot here too, but today was awesome. And tomorrow is supposed to be cooler too. Lou saw Chel's fb post about yardsales and immediately began whining because it is too far away for her to go to...
And in sharing, I spent all day at Bro Papa's, helping work on Fred the '52 Ford. We now have its new engine and transmission (a Chevrolet 5.3) in its chassis. Still a long way from the first drive, but progress to be sure.
I came in, realized I have ate nothing today, and made 2 fish fillet sandwiches. The scale showed another 2 lbs down from last week when I stepped on them before my shower. I am happy. I was beginning to think I would never get into the 220's....now I'm well on my way to the 2-teens...

Going to my parents today. Have to do laundry. Dad wants to show off his new car he bought yesterday. Also my Aunt and Uncle who live down the road are gonna give me one of the girls old bicycles. Oh and I'm going to 'borrow' mom's sewing machine she hasn't used in years.

It was downright cold today! I froze all thru church, turned the heater on when I got in the truck and then snuggled under the covers in my bed for my nap! I usually don't sleep with covers, and the a/c is OFF today. No air or heat. It's that cool outside! Yay!

I froze but I like it! It's a nice change from the infernal heat.

Went to Praise in the Park last night and heard Casting Crowns and Lauren Diegal... And a few other groups that opened for them that I didn't know. It was fun.

Yesterday morning I went grocery shopping and got hit on in the WM checkout. Guy asked for my number and I gave it to him. I'm still waiting on his call/text. No joke. He asked what church I went to, we have mutual friends, he told me where he goes, and asked me out. I was dumbfounded, but gave him my number cause he seemed legit and I believed him. As soon as I left I called one of our mutual friends and got the 411 on him. He's legit. And she was tickled pink he asked me out. She said he's great and that I won't be disappointed, even if we just become friends...he's apparently a great friend as well.

So. How long am I supposed to wait for him to call me? I wish he would already!

That's my share.

And his name is John. :hypocrite:

:hi: Maybe John's middle name is Kevin... :freaky2: :freaky2:
And morning, all. Back at work. Had a conversation this morning with a new to the area ham. Reminded me how blessed I am. He's recently lost his wife of many years- I think he said around 50 years- and had health problems that caused him to lose a leg, as well as having to move away from his friends and hometown to be nearer family. I felt so bad for the old fellow. He was upbeat and happy though you could tell it was a chore...I.AM.SO.BLESSED.
Hope everyone's day goes well. I bought some Community Coffee and have replaced the morning Dr Pepper- which I have not tasted since August 10th- with it. One cup. And not every day either.  That's it...but the caffeine has helped me a tad on those slow mornings. Today WAS a slow morning. Now I'm as wired as a squirrel on meth.  :laughhard:

Welp. I talked to the lady at church last night that knows John, and she said that she found out he still has a girlfriend...and that she asked her daughter about it, (her daughter knows him better) and she said he's kinda a ladies man...he flirts with EVERYONE. So there goes that.

*shrug*

This is just another reason I don't date and get all excited over this love stuff. Some guys are just jerks. And they don't even realize it.

In other news, I'm going fishing today after I babysit Kira. I spent the better part of the night watching fishing techniques and homemade catfish bait videos on YouTube. I'm ready to fish today! Mom has nurses and the cleaning lady coming today so I don't have to rush home.

Yay!

I hate to do it, but I'm gonna have to take the debit card from Brandon. He doesn't understand this budget concept. We have right about 80 dollars now to last us for right under 2 weeks. Oh and that has to include groceries [which is about 120 for us for 2 weeks] and gas in at least his car [25 every 4-5 days].  I wish I could just spend all my money on soda and cigarettes and leave my significant other to starve without a 2nd thought. This is usually the week too that his mom calls yelling, crying, and screaming for dog food.

Oh and instead of developing my daily headache by the evening, I woke up with it today.

:hi: It's been raining here since about 3 am. A steady soaking rain, like we need. I have managed to cut the living fire outta my thumb while working on one of my ham radio projects, and have cooked a rack of ribs for dinner. And that, my friends, is sharing here. Oh, and there's a huge ham radio contest gonna start in about an hour and I am tormenting Mini to inspire him to get in and use that hard earned license... :P

It's raining like crazy here and more is heading this way from that hurricane in Mexico. Thankful the hurricane seems like it will miss Baja California where my kiddos are.

As soon as I hit post on that last post Brandon handed me his debit card and said he didn't trust himself with it. I've got about 100 to work with groceries. Going to his Aldi and Walmart today. Also I'm gonna have to cave and use my credit card to at least buy my heartburn medicine I didn't realize I'd run out of. I could have sworn I had another 14 day supply. Bah!! And now Brandon is without cigarettes and is acting all antsies in his pantsies. I might kill him.....

Back at work. Bah. I do NOT want to be here, I would like to eat three pounds of chocolate, a steak and drink a case of Dr. Pepper, and discover that someone has deposited a million bucks in my account for me. Sadly, none of that shall come to pass. :pound:

I'll take a nice juicy medium steak, and a million bucks. Sigh :sadbounce:

Alas I too, am back at work. With no breakfast I might add.

Hyphen retreat was good. Alter calls were good that is. The rest of it was kinda meh. It poured rain the ENTIRE time. Social interactions were lame. Oh well. I'm too old for that stuff.

I got a frantic call while at work yesterday that B's car wouldn't start. So I got back to the apt and took him to work. After I got off I rushed home, took his battery out, and swisked it away to the Zone of Auto for a testing. If was so dead that they couldn't test it. I left it over night to charge and went back to pick it up this morning. It's done for. He's had the car 2 years, the battery is an actual Subaru battery but with no years, size, etc on it. It came on the car. We just replaced the starter in August so we were kinda waiting for battery or alternator to go. Thankfully my parents are going to get us a battery and let us pay them back on the installment plan.

Well. I sorta lied in my last post. Went by the butcher shop on the way home to get lunch meat...I carried out 3 sirloins that were on sale. Lou cooked 'em up, so I got my steak- about 8 ounces, but I did trim what little fat that was evident. I stood strong and refused the 'taters and Dr Pepper though. And I still ain't got the million bucks. :pound:

That's the secret to a diet (or so I've been told.) Don't say "I can't have ice cream," just have a little every once in a while instead of a lot every day. Uncle Fred no longer accepts a loaf of bread when I'm baking a batch but he might get a pinch every great while if he's visiting here.

B's car is now alive. I didn't get my headache until late yesterday so at least I got a little bit of a break. I've had one since I woke up today. So this marks Day 12. B wouldn't let me go to class. He said I needed to nap and I look terrible [not in a mean way, just in a I look like I feel terrible way]. So he's at class taking notes. He is now Day 4 of no smoking. He has taken my bag of peppermints though which I'm sad about but if they help him stop then so be it.

Glad to be home ALONE. I made some shrimp and asian noodles and now I'm going to bed. With my favorite biting snuggle buddy.

He was actually very loving last night, and at one point he was snuggled beside me in the crook of my arm with his head laying across my elbow and he was purring like a motor.

Finally got to church last night. We are doing a 14 week study on the End Times. It's through some program. Personally I feel like it's a lot of guessing games but it's interesting none the less. Plus I have the next 2 Sunday's off so that's exciting!

Work the next 2 days. I have some pain going on under my left eye, but I hope a good hot shower will break that up before a headache starts.

That's nice Bobby. I have worked all day, and I mean ALL day. When I got to work today the boss asked me if I could stay until 9pm. I almost said no because some plugs for the church sound booth (finally) came in and I knew I'd have to fiddle around with speaker wires after work. But then I remembered we get our hour back tomorrow, so I would have time to stay till 9pm and still fix the sound booth problem, so I said I'd stay.

Boy was that a mistake! Everyone and his brother's neighbor's uncle's best friend's third cousin twice removed was out tonight. But I said I'd stay till 9 so I stayed till 9. Then I hit the door and almost left scorch marks leaving the parking lot.

I was up way too late last night. Even with the hour we got back. Went to see friends in a play I used to do. Had quite a few people beg me to come do it with them next year, but like I told Brandon that chapter of my life is over.

I'm really excited to be able to go to church today. I haven't been able to go on a Sunday since my Mississippi adventure.

Church was awesome for us today too!!

I actually went to bed at a decent time and so as a result got to sleep that extra hour! Yay! I rarely ever get to claim that hour but this time I did. Then went to church and out to eat with my friends who picked up the bill for me , which was totally unexpected and made my day. So I went to WM to get some things I needed and was able to spend the money I would have spent on lunch to buy some half price candy. I got 4lbs of candy for $10!! Good candy too...Recees, York peppermint patties, Hershey's, KitKats and Whoppers. No cheap stuff. I filled a huge bowl and set it out on the table for all Moms nurses and aides and people that help her when she comes home from the hosp. Then after WM I went to the hosp and stayed with her a bit. Came home and now just chillin. It's been a great day.

Half price candy is of the devil for me.  The scales showed 224 last night... :clap2: I finally feel like I'm making progress. Now if I could just get my debt load to roll off like the weight..... :freaky2:
Drove the Corvette in listening to an oldie- David Patillo, an old country gospel artist. Not bad. Been a long time since I'd listened to him. I found the old tape in some of my things from when I was a youngster, along with some old Phillips,Craig, and Dean tapes. Since my 'vette is a '96, it was cutting edge when new...cds were just making it big, so my car came with a cd player AND a cassette deck, both of which work great. So we old schooled it with cassettes this morning.  Y'all have a great day!

Nothing too eventful in my world. I just shouldn't even go to church on Wednesday nights with doing the End Time series. I left halfway through service again last night so that I wouldn't get kicked out. I knew the articles that were being quoted were completely taken out of context by this Baxter guy. I may just have to reserve Wednesday nights for visiting friends at other churches until the series is over.

Actually, Jenn, I did get up, went to town, did the grocery shopping, ran by the library, came home and fixed a couple of niggling little issues the bbq run revealed on Rusty, changed a flat tire on the trailer, managed to work a few minutes into the schedule for a run by the church for prayer time, and have plans to cook some butterfly chops in a mushroom gravy with slices of Portobello mushrooms, mashed potatoes and corn for dinner.
Surprisingly- that's a light day for me on my day off. Oh, and I rewarded myself for being good vis-a-vis the diet by buying two smoked ribs, and had 18 pieces of Brookside Goji & Raspberry flavored Dark Chocolate...I'll have more of those little 170 calorie a serving sweethearts....:fork:

Well I can't say much. Day before yesterday I stopped by the salvage grocery to see if they had anything interesting, and they had whole cherries (the bright red, tart kind) dried, coated with dove dark chocolate. Not the strongest chocolate in the world, but dove has a good flavor. I... um... might have bought 20 bags or so... No I'm not kidding, exaggerating or using hyperbole.

Woke up this morning to Brandon making me pancakes. He is now 2 weeks cigarette free!!! Work for both of us today. I'll still be making smoothies Fridays and Saturdays.

Ah, mexican chocolate. (And no, I do NOT mean the Carlos V "chocolate" bar. That doesn't even qualify as real milk chocolate.) Mexican chocolate has its own unique flavor. And it's very good combined with chili pepper, or cracked cayenne pepper, or a good bar of mexican cinnamon chocolate...

It's been NASTY here. Hot, raining, humid...one of those you walk outside and immediedely feel like you need another shower cause you are sweating and YUCK. But then...yesterday morning was no different...nasty and rainy and HOT...went to church. Spent 4.5 hours inside the building, and behold! when I opened the door to leave, I FROZE walking to the truck! FROZE! It was windy and cold and crisp and just wonderful!

Last night I sat on the patio for about an hour for the first time since Heather was here and lit my lil fire pit! Beautiful!

I got up to use the RR and had a text from Krissy from 4am! She needs me all day today to watch her kids instead of just from 12-5. Her other babysitter is sick today. I told her she better be glad that my bladder wakes me every three hours or I wouldn't have seen her message in time...she said she was counting on that. Lol nice.

:flush:

That is all.

Morning, all. Cold- around 37- here this morning. :pound:  And traffic was atrocious. I sat on the interstate, moving less than a mile in 30 minutes, before I finally got to an exit where I could get off and take one of my little used, little known back routes in. That is the benefit to having old rides and avoiding interstates when you are in them-you find all the old two lanes. I've got at least 3, maybe more, routes to work without getting on the interstate, and if I do need to ,it's only for a mile or so.  :smirk2:
And last night was the first night of revival. Had  two backsliders in the altars.. Working on getting my beloved sister Kim there.... :freaky2:

Mixed feelings tonight. A few months ago, Lou and I enjoyed a yard sale day, in which I found a several hundred dollar suit, worn once, for $10 bucks. I bought it, wore it once, and discovered the pant legs were a tad long. Got 'em back from the seamstress this week. Put it on a while ago- it's loose to the point of being baggy. I'm wearing it tonight, but I doubt I'll get to again. Glad to lose the weight, and I'm not complaining, but that was one of very few suits I own...:-p

Brandon can no longer wear the suit we bought for him for our wedding in May. We spent around $200 on it. It's the only suit he owns. He wore it once. It's now at least 2 sizes too big. I will take him healthier though!

I.am. totally. amazed. I posted that, texted mini that thought and went to church. Had a good revival service with folks praying...after service, I went out to the car to wait on Lou. She got in the car carrying- a new suit. One more expensive and better quality than the one I had. A sister in the church said her son in law had it and it was too small for him. It fits me well. It won't after 20 more lbs go away- but God furnished that one just after I MENTIONED it.  My God is AWESOME.
Now, I'm not trying to tempt Him or look a gift horse in the mouth- but the checkbook is mighty low, Lord. :laughhard:

Classes I had planned on taking next semester are filling up quicker than I thought. Why did all these seniors put them off?!?! We register here based off of how many credit hours you have earned that way upper classmen can get into classes required for them to graduate. Lowly sophomores such as myself can't register until NEXT monday. The geology class I planned on taking only has 15 spots out of 60 left  And I'm a planner!!! Don't these people realize they are sending my world into a tailspin?!?!?

I have apparently lost my mind. Am currently talking with a guy in reference to trading my recently acquired Corvette for one of my bucket list cars- a 1930 Model A. yes. From a car that will do 180 mph to a car that *might* do 60 mph, Downhill. With a tailwind.  And yes, I will trade if he will and it is in the shape it appears to be in....

I already told her that I need this puppy in my life.

I've been in bed with a throbbing headache all day. Revival tonight...the devil has been going nuts all week trying to keep us from church...by "us" I mean EVERY person I talk to from church has had one thing after another happen that could possibly keep them from church tonight (with good reasons) if they let it.

My head is still thumping, but as soon as I get to practice I'm gonna have them pray for me...so there!

Brandon showed me a picture of my former puppy yesterday. She is now 4 and lives with my MIL. She is now HUGE. Probably double the size she previously was. My MIL is way over feeding her. That's probably why she cries to us for dog food. But I should have known better. All her other dogs are overweight too.

Bleh.

Last night at church my minivan refused to start. It turned over slowly like it had a dead battery. So today I got a new battery and put it in.  No workee. So I cleaned the posts, cleaned the cable contacts, even tried jumping it off with another vehicle.

I hate, I absolutely HATE having to get a new starter. And I really hope I can get a refund tomorrow on this new battery I don't need...

AT LAST THE DAY HAS ARRIVED!
The stores are finally selling melted-ice-cream-in-a-bottle, aka eggnog!

Although these days you have to read ingredients. Some brands have started using nonfat milk, high fructose corn syrup and - heaven help us - spray-dried egg yolks in their eggnog. I had to search to find a brand that still tasted like real eggnog. But I found it and I poured me a glass and now I'm happy. EGGNOG SEASON IS HERE!

He's just tired. He was hired on for 4 days a week and due people leaving quicker than they can hire and the time of year, he's been working 5 days a week. His only days off are the 2 days he's in class all day. Plus he has a BIG paper due next week that he procrastinated on. We talked it over and he's sticking to it. We only have 3 more weeks of school and he's up for a raise and promotion next month.

In other news it's incredibly windy here today. Wouldn't be so bad if the bus drivers actually stopped at the bus stops to pick us up. My ears are still screaming from having to walk across campus.

It's a pasta/sandwiches/mini pizza diet for us the next 2 weeks. However we are going to ask both our grandmothers if we can be loaded down with the Thanksgiving leftovers. May be a bit of a challenge at my mamaw's because my uncle may be there. He literally doesn't stop eating. I blame it on the 30+ years he's been a widow and never remarried.

Yesterday was rough. I had a full blown anxiety attack. I felt it creeping in and had to get up and leave in middle of class. No clue how I made it back up the hill but I did before the hand/feet numbing set in. Feeling better today thankfully.

:hi: Heather, sorry you guys are going through that. It'll get better...
And hello, all. Made a grocery store run today, and done some honey dos, then nearly killed myself getting the 3 foot, lighted 5 pointed star decoration I made for Chey 30 feet up on my tower. We shall have to wait until dark tonight to see if it looks okay. Put it up about 18 feet last night and it looked fairly cool. I really shoulda bought a premade one though- it was a pain to bend the coathangers into the correct shape and keep it somewhat uniform. :pound: Looks like Thanksgiving will be at my in laws. I may try to overcome my phobia about large groups and make myself go. Lou doesn't understand why I get as nervous as a longtailed cat in a room full of rocking chairs when I'm around a large group, but I do. Truthfully, I don't understand it. I can go to church, preach, eat at a restaurant- but put me in a crowd of 20 people in a group environment, and I literally go to pieces.   :paranoid: :paranoid:

I hate holidays. My brothers are stupid jerks who don't care about their mother and her first set of holidays without her husband of 35 years. They have plans for both holidays that don't include us at all. And they haven't visited since the funeral in April.

We are spending the holidays with family that isn't my brothers and that's only cause I took it upon myself to get us invited to those functions to prevent my mom from spending her first holidays without my dad, sitting around staring at just me over a baked chicken and some stovetop. Which is what would happen if we stayed home.

I'm so through with the holidays and they have barely begun. People wonder why I feel this way and hate this time of year, well, it's because when it comes down to it, I'm the only one who gives a rip about my parents and apparently since dad is gone, I'm gonna have to take care of mom forever alone cause even though she had three children, I'm the only one.

Anyway. Yeah. I wish it was January already. But I'll pretend to have a good time and be jolly...for moms sake. Even if she doesn't notice anyway. God still notices right? I mean He still cares, right? Sometimes I wonder what my life would be like now if I had never started caring for my parents and lived my own life for the past 15 years...

That is all.

Anyway.

I had a good time tonight at our Connect Group. It's the group between 20-50...after the Youth but not quite the LAFF (Life After Fifty Fun) group. I love my church family, when I am with them I can *almost* forget I have drama in my natural family. We had a bonfire on the beach tonight and it was great! Anytime fire is involved it's always a good time. :freaky2:

Heather, I wish you and Brandon were visiting us, I just bought $200 worth of groceries yesterday and our freezer is full and I had to re arrange the pantry to hold the stuff I got. I could cook for yall, or if you lived nearby, I could set some of this stuff on your doorstep. Thanks to the government for the food stamps that keep us fed. $200 a month is not much, but I make it work and we never do without. We may not have a lot of extra cash, but we always have something to eat. I never worry about that.

I really am trying to be positive this season, dispite my above post. I just needed to vent somewhere and express my feelings and, lucky GP, this is where I'm "safe" to do so.

Yay for call-ins! Someone called in last night at work and I wound up staying till 9pm.

The preceding was not at all sarcastic. It really was a yay. I can use the money. :D

So Mel what you are saying is next Thanksgiving I should just give up trying to be friendly to my family and come to MS? I mean that's what I heard in those posts

I finally opened up to a few close-ish friends here about our financial state and shortage of food. 2 friends brought us leftovers last night [and persistantly invited us to a friends-giving at their house wednesday night], another is supposedly making us some freezer meals, and another is bringing a lasagna the week after Thanksgiving. We are blessed. I really need to get over my fear of asking for help. My parents taught me it's the worst thing in the world to do and usually when I do need help they give me a resounding no. The car battery has been the only exception in years. I have to learn that not everyone is like them.

You would be welcome here! I would rather spend the holiday with friends who don't cause us drama than family who really doesn't want to be with us.

I'm making hamburgers right now. Gonna fry some fries and we have baked beans. I helped mom get a shower and we are about to watch a movie I rented. Then I plan on coloring till bedtime. Time to de-stress.

That is all.

OR... Heather and husband, and Mel, could all meet halfway - in southwest TN. There's a pretty tightly-knit family I know of that meets for a family dinner for any and all major and minor holidays. Or sometimes just because we feel like having a family dinner. Y'all would probably fit right in.

Maybe one day we will take you up on that offer, Isaac.

Annual Friendsgiving was a success.
Friend from work came.

Despite not really liking holidays either like Melbs it's not entirely for a different reason.
I would just rather be with my church family. They're "family" outside of my Mom, Dad and bro & sil. Close with my immediate family but other than that, give me my church family any day.

We don't have any other family coming for thanksgiving.
Will be low key.
Well except for the guy friend I'll get to see next week.

Mel-I'm glad you found some good buns!

That's it. We need to just have a GP thanksgiving next year. We are still 4 days out and I'm already over my family for Thanksgiving AND Christmas.

It's Brandon's first day off [other than school] and he has already abandoned me for his mom's house  So I'm up doing some housework type stuff before church. No clue if he's coming with me or not.

Jenn-guy friend?!?!? Do tell.....

Urgh. Got to work. Found that the small bowl I had my salad dressing in had the lid pop off....salad dressing all over the lunch bag. Bah. Oh, and found one of the ongoing issues for my Canyon's fault. A sensor, that according to the internet was a 10 minute replacement job, so I tackled it last night. An hour and a half later, I managed to complete the job and get to church. I'd love to meet the dude that said it was a ten minute job...:pound:

Hate to be a downer- but a little prayer would be appreciated. Today is the sixth anniversary of my Daddy's death, and it always hits me kinda hard-We were close.  I tend to be depressed, sad and irritable on this day, even more so than normal. It'd be nice to make it through today without killing someone. Thanks.

Just got done eating an absolutely fantastic lunch. Mom had recommended the Campbell's oven sauces to me. We did the Sweet Teriyaki. We did chicken breasts, red, green, and yellow pepper, pineapple chunks and the sauce. 40 minutes in the oven. Fantastic! We also did yellow rice in the cooker. We both have to work this afternoon and will be going to a friends house for a friendsgiving this evening [me for the evening and Brandon is coming by for his lunch break].

Well. We HAD planned on going to Lou's mom's for dinner tomorrow at 3, before Lou had to go to work. Then this afternoon they changed Lou's schedule and she has to be at work at one tomorrow. So, I had to run in and get a small ham, and I've spent all evening cooking cinnamon rolls, cornbread for the dressing, making dressing, marinating the ham, and just generally kitchen things. Not gonna make it to church tonight either...which is not good but if I don't get this stuff prepared, we won't have time to eat before she goes to work. :pound: Stupid Walmart.

I'm currently at my parents. Dad is already driving me crazy. We are going to mamaw's this afternoon. I'll probably end up at the kids table with my 50something Uncle who eats everything whether it's on your plate or his. Last Christmas he kept throwing food at me. Brandon is at work til 3:30. Walmart is actually closed, they don't have any trucks, but they brought in the unloading crew to set up Black Friday sales. I'm mad he's missing family time for other people's greed. My sister isn't coming in [Thank ya Jesus!!] Tonight we are going to a friends house to decompress and just chill. Pray for my sanity til about 4 pm EST.

Walmart here was open. Lou had to work from 1 until 9, so I fixed dinner and we ate around 11 ish, then I went to Walmart and done some Christmas shopping. Figured I didn't have anything better to do, Chey was at grandmas, so I might as well.

I didn't end up leaving Mamaw's until around 6 so safe to say we didn't make it to friends house. My ETSU paycheck dropped this morning. Wasn't expecting it til Monday. No shopping for me. Brandon is gone to get us breakfast then the rest is starting on our December bills. We have so much due the first 2 weeks of the month I have no idea how we get by.

Was going to go hiking today but I woke up with one of my glorious headaches and I've got a bit of an earache going on too. Seems like perfectly reasonable day to sit inside and crochet.

So yall remember that guy that I met in WM that asked for my number awhile back? Well, I think he text me. He just said "Hey Melody, this is Jon, how are you doing?" But I thought it was my childhood friend who I haven't talked to for awhile and I answered him and he never replied...that was Friday night, so tonight it just hit me who it was, so I text him again and asked him if he was the Jon from WM, and that earlier I had him confused with another Jon...I'm waiting on a reply.

I thought it was weird that my childhood friend had a MS area code...DUH! Lol
Title: Re: For those that said it couldn't be done...well we did it! Sharing 501!

So the guy replied. He asked what I had been up to. I told him just normal stuff, taking care of Mom, church, babysitting, nothing too exciting. So then he asks what church I went to, I told him. Then his very next text said "well I'm just here, laying in my bed, naked."

:o

Ok. That escalated quickly.

Luckily, after I answered the church question I fell asleep. So I didn't see the next text till hours later when I woke up, and he had sent 4 more after that...first one said "did you get my text?" And then three that said "so I guess you aren't talking anymore"

Um no. I thought he was a good guy and we could be friends but the way he just blurted that out makes me think he was fishing for more than what I intend to give him. So that's over.

Proves my theory that there are not any good guys out there, and if they are, they are NOT interested in me.

BTW, I still haven't replied.

One of my friends had been talking to a guy at church for about a year. Fireman's ball, banquets, the whole deal. She took hours to crochet him a blanket for his birthday then he just stopped talking to her. Boys are so weird. I'm married and I still think Brandon is weird.

Church yesterday was one of those everyone on their face crying out to the Lord type services. It was awesome. I came home, watched from Criminal Minds, then crashed. I apparently talked to my weirdo last night when he got home but I have no memory of it whatsoever.

Last prob and stats class this morning. Off to work study.

Heather:  *waves at you cause you deserve a shout out*

Lynx: I recently used a Calvin and Hobbes comic to explain black and white photos and when color was invented to my 5 year old niece.  Thanks to Calvin's dad, I had a ready answer.

Ah yes, the theory that the world was in black and white until a while ago. And when the world became color it was pretty grainy color for a while. I remember that one.

One of my all-time favorite lines comes from that comic.
CALVIN: Hobbes the world is a confusing place.

It's one of those days where I just want to lay in the fetal position and cry. I'm serious. Tears are on the verge every second. I can't do this today. I have a test this afternoon.

Urgh. Been a busy day. I've ran most all day. Did grocery shopping and took advantage of Lou's holiday discount- 25% off everything we bought. Since we didn't have a big ticket item, we just used it on groceries and stocked up. Then came home, where I have managed to get in trouble with my m-I-l, accidently. Chey's buddy, Hayden, the 12 year old that has more or less adopted us wanted to come over and go with us to tomorrow's lighting ceremony. I agreed, since no one was coming over. Unbeknownst to me, Lou was going to bring Miles, her 8 year old nephew over. We have a hard and fast rule of one kid at a time because 2 or more equals someone feeling left out, and since Hayden had asked first, he got the nod. Apparently my M-I-L thinks that we favor Hayden over "your own kin". Lord. I am fixing to stop ALL overnights to the house. We have an additional kid every weekend, and it is totally getting old. And I'm tired of offending someone when all I'm trying to do is help and encourage someone.  Anyway...that's my rant for the day. :pound:

Brandon still haven't gotten his discount card so we can't take advantage of the 25% off. He's been there almost 5 months. They are supposedly sending it to the store now but who knows if we will ever see it.

Last night was our Tacky Tourist Christmas Dinner at church. It was fun. A difference from all the other Christmas dinners I've been to. Lots of Hawaiian shirts and socks/sandals combo's. We even had a few fanny packs there!

Today is a day off and I literally have nothing to do. I was going to make it a laundry/cleaning day but Brandon cleaned the house last night and he started laundry this morning before I woke up. I'm not complaining, but now I don't know what to do with myself.

You used to have to be there for 6 months to get the discount. Sadly, it's only 10% off, and excludes gas and groceries, but it's better than nothing. Since she had to work on Thanksgiving, they gave a bonus 15% more off...

This weekend was...interesting. Busy. And a pain. My Saturday went by at the speed of light. The actual Saturday, I had to work for the lighting ceremony- but I did enjoy some awesome ribs on the way home. :fork: Then  today, we were busy as a one-legged man in  a butt kickin' contest, due to the building being open. In the middle of that, Bro Wilson texted me to proclaim he was 1) sick and 2) I was gonna have to preach. With zero time to study. I survived. And, the scale showed another lb down.

We have finally figured out my stomach issues. I have diverticulitis. Bah! I've been subsisting on mashed potatoes and chicken broth all weekend. My insides were so bloated I couldn't even button a pair of jeans until today. Thankfully I am feeling much better so far today. Here's to a crash course on diet and exercise to keep my insides happy.

Pretty sure I just scraped by my Prob & Stats class with a B. It could fall on the minus or plus, but around a B nonetheless. No more math!!!! One more final left tomorrow then I'm done. Still debating whether to take my winter course or to let it go and wait for summer.

Also talked to the professor teaching the winter course and decided to bite the bullet. I'm going to run out of financial aide if I keep fiddle fartin around.

:hi: Friday, I took advantage of the local butcher's sale, buying up some insanely cheap ($4/lb) sirloin. So tonight, since it was nearly 65 degrees, I decided to grill out, especially since I'd eaten light, less than 500 calories, all day.. Good decision.  Lean Sirloin, Head Country seasoned chicken breast, green beans, and a luxury for me- a handful of seasoned fries. Twas delicious. :fork: And now I am stuffed. Truly. And still right around my 1100 calorie limit.

Completely surprised myself with my test grade from Thursday. I thought for sure I'd maybe get a C and pulled a 110 out of my boot. Took my final for that class today. I'm telling myself a B overall when grades post later but I'm really hoping an A. Overall though, my Fall semester is over.

Got offered a 2nd job in my department on campus yesterday for next semester. Its contingent on me finishing my winter class as it and the job has to do with sociological research.

There's two sayings I didn't know anybody else knew.  "One legged man at a butt kicking contest" and "fiddle fartin around."

By the way Bobby, I was reminded of a quote that reminded me of your place of employment. It was from a video game I played back in the day.

"Wanna play cards?"
"Sure. But I don't have any money so it'll have to be State Senate rules."
"What are those rules?"
"That's where we trade cards and try to beat each other, but nobody wins, everybody loses and nothing gets accomplished. It's like stalemate, except the objective is to kill time until the audience gets bored and leaves."

Brandon and I actually had an evening off work together with no homework and I feel pretty decent. We decided to cash in our Olive Garden gift card we had been holding onto since our wedding. Afterwards we went to the men's basketball game. We get in for free with our student IDs. So our date only cost us $13. [11 over our gift card limit and 2 for a drink at the concessions at the game]. It was Brandon's first basketball game. He'd only been to baseball before here at the university.

Welp, I got up early, dropped Chey off, went by the library, went by the bank, grocery shopped, went by the parts store and got the parts to repair Rusty's annoying coolant leak I've been searching for the last 3 months for- finally found- and repaired Rusty. Then I fired up the radio and snagged a couple new countries I hadn't talked to before, one of which is Mali, South Africa. Fried pies!

A lady at work is selling pies for her church. They are as wide as a dinner plate and made with real fruit (not that junk from a can.) And the crust is NOT made from canned biscuits. And they are $2 a piece.

I might possibly have ordered 20 of them, 10 each of apple and peach. Gonna freeze (most of) them.

One can never have too many books. If I ever win the lottery that I never play, one of the first things I would build onto my house would be a large combination library/study/radio room. And one of the first things I would buy is the complete leather bound Louis L'amour collection. And, of all things, every Janette Oke book written. And all the Little House on the Prairie books. This would compliment my complete collection of John Grisham and Patricia Cornwell books. I have eclectic tastes.  And before I get bashed for the Christian love stories, My mama collected them. And being a book worm, they were there, thus I read them- and surprisingly enjoyed the plots. Now I have all of Mama's books, and yes, I still read them. And I still get caught up in them too. And if anyone wants to poke fun about my book tastes, I carry a gun, and am very good with it. :-)

I would like to take this time to wish a merry ChristmaHanukKwanzAgnostic to you all! A politically correct merging of Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa and of course we can't forget all the Agnostics who don't celebrate anything except the availability of eggnog in supermarkets at this time of year.

If you can't remember all that, just say "Have a happy non-denominational winter season." And be sure to keep the politically correct half-smile on your face while you say it.

And by the grace of God, or by Allah, or with the inner light of Mother Earth, or by the random mutations of Evolution, or whatever you believe (or don't believe...) by any or all or none of these we will have the best ChristmaHanukKwanzAgnostic season ever!

If I'm not sure of a persons religious affiliation, I just say have a great holiday.

I have the Little House books. Our bookshelves are super eclectic. Brandon has a self of Michael Connelly books and a shelf of British history. We have a self of Harry Potter and Cassandra Clare series. I have a shelf of christian living, a shelf of christian fiction [Lynn Austin is my jam], world religions/yoga, fiction, non-fiction, anthropology/sociology/feminism books, etc etc etc. Oh and all our school books are on the bookshelf in the office and we both have Kindle's. Like I said.....we don't have a problem....

I don't see a problem with that either.

When I moved my stuff to Tallahassee last year, I told my brother to grab a tote cause I couldn't move it...he hefted it into his truck and he said "GOOD LORD!! What's in here? BRICKS?" To which I replied "Books". He then said "WHY? Why do you have so many?" And I didn't even comment. I just stared at him. He shook his head and we kept loading the truck.

You either understand or you don't. I understand. He doesn't. He's never been a reader. And I wasn't even about to TRY to explain it to him. It wouldn't have done any good.

I'm so frustrated right now that I think I'm going to take a hot shower and cry. I thought things were going well and then low and behold I have found out little things that Brandon has been 'omitting/lying' to me about. Today's straw that broke my back was when I was going to do laundry. Knowing that I didn't have enough money on my school ID [we have a reloading system called ID Bucs that you can use on campus for various things], I went to raid my owl bank where I throw all my change. Lo and behold, it has nothing but pennies in it because Brandon has been going through it after I go to work and taking all the silver out supposedly for drinks [aka probably cigarettes]. So now for us to have clean clothes, I have to go hang out with my sick dad on Sunday just to be able to use their washer and dryer. At least my cat is there and I get to watch football on the big screen.

:hi: Been a busy day. Changed a bad plug in the Canyon, grocery shopped, and finally went to Conway and bought copper line and fittings to install the Propane heater in the living room so if the power goes out we will have heat. I was concerned about running the line, since I had to flare the ends of the copper, which I'd never done- but it worked with no issues and didn't leak. I was so proud..lol

I think there i$ a down$ide to u$ing copper line$. $omething about $carcity...

Why DO they use something as expensive as copper anyway? Will propane corrode PVC?

Actually, I believe you can use pvc. At least, the fittings, ect, I got had the ability to be put on by compression fittings. But, all the dealings I've ever had with propane used copper, with fittings placed by flaring the ends. So that's what I did. And the copper really wasn't TOO bad expensive- a 20' roll of 3/8" like I needed was somewhere around $15. What killed me was the fittings which were $5 each :o . And, since I had no clue where Daddy's flare tool and cutter was, I had to buy them. The stupid flare tool was $21....and I'll probably never use it again. :pound:

:hi: Dreary here too. I'm back at work. Got the best Christmas gift I have received in a long time last night. My pastor called me into the office after church- all I could think of is what have I done? He hands me a brightly wrapped gift and says "Merry Christmas". Inside the box was my "little buddy". Little Buddy is our pet name for a Taurus .357  snubnose revolver that I bought in 2002. I carried it for several years, and sold it to him at a discount after buying another gun because he wanted it bad. I quickly regretted it, and tried to buy it back, but he wouldn't part with it- until last night. He'd bought himself a new Glock, and decided it would be a nice gift to let me have Little Buddy back. I cried like a baby. It is now the Rusty of my guns- the one that will never leave me. And yes, it is with me today.  :P

Brandon just rescued a bookcase from the dumpster. We are up to 5 now.

Slept way later today than I normally would. We had my father in law in the ER from midnight to 6 am Sunday morning. Only slept a couple of hours yesterday morning before husband had to be to work and I had to go do laundry. Finally got to completely pass out last night. Slept til almost 11 today.

Today is my last day working at the mall. It was pouring down rain this evening and so sales slowed down and the mall died about 8pm. I've been bored out of my gourd, but can't leave till 11. It's only 10:17 now. UGH!

Luckily, before the storm came I made my quota and then some for today...boss will be happy and maybe use me again.

I only work 1 day this week. That will drastically change next week. The girl that annoys the bejesus out of me put in her 2 week notice. She's leaving to work with her druggy baby daddy at a shady pizza parlor. So my hours are going through the roof until school starts. Which is fine by me. Brandon is getting dropped from 5 to 4 days at the Walmart. Trying to figure out a schedule to give my boss for when school does start.

Going to see Star Wars today!!!!!!!

We didn't send cards either. Mainly cause I can never remember to anyway.
Made it through another day. If I can get through tomorrow, I'll be off 3 days, work 2, then off 5...Ready for it. Got unwelcome news from a friend today. She's a coworker, who was raised Pentecostal Holiness. Her Dad is a pastor- he went to the doctor for a back injury- and after tests, they found Stage 4 bone cancer. I told her we would be praying. Bless her heart, she is having a very hard time dealing with it. I hate it for her- she is a sweet person. And news such as this at Christmas just makes it worse.

One thing I have to watch over the holidays is grease overload. I eat more vegetables than the average southerner. I can eat a good sausage biscuit with cheese eggs and gravy for breakfast.... but heavy meat and grease for four meals straight (Christmas Eve supper, Christmas morning, Christmas lunch, Christmas supper) is too much for my system.

But when aunt Lisa makes a big pan of homemade lasagna for supper.... sooooooo good! How can I say no?  :-\

That and the lasagna incident.  If WWIII starts with the Italians, I'll be able to explain.

Being a lover of all things lasagna, if said war is started, it will truly be brother against brother, because I shall be firmly on the side of the Italians, against the communism that is lasagna hating and chocolate gravy hating. :fork:
Walmart's closed today here. In a couple of hours I am going to fire up the grille- in December, maybe there is something to Global Warming- and grill our traditional Christmas steaks. This evening is Christmas at the in-laws, that I am industriously trying to avoid. I may spend the time moving Chey's room and converting her current room into a ham radio haven. And so those of you that are accustomed to staying with us from time to time don't panic, I'll have the guest bed stored and with an hour's notice, it will be set up and ready for you.  :thumbsup2: I'm just tired of not being comfortable in my radio room...

Christmas was ended when my mother started yelling at my father, threw a tantrum, then slammed the door to her bedroom. But I wasn't left to tears for once, so I guess that's good?

I'm off for 2 more days and hopefully I get to go to dinner tomorrow with a friend who's in to see her family. She lives in Baltimore now and I haven't been able to see her for about 4 years now.

It's morning. I have drank my coffee and still find myself in a poor mood, mainly because 1) I am at work on a day I was SUPPOSED to be on vacation, which was cancelled due to an inconsiderate jerk of a coworker.- pray for me and my attitude toward him and 2) we are majorly shorthanded, partially due to said jerk, partially due to another coworker's father in law passing, and partially due to my employer not getting off their duff and hiring for the position we have open. Oh and reason 3) I am in a bad mood- it is raining. Nonestop. Still. We've got upwards of 6 inches of water in the past two days- probably closer to 8- and I live in the country. With a septic system. Which no worky with this much water. :pound: :pound:
Remind myself-  Thank you Lord that I have a job to go to, and a house to live in, and food to eat, and transportation. Forgive me for being so irritable and ungrateful. In short, keep working on me. 'Cause I need it.  :laughhard:

So last night I picked up one of those straight talk SIM cards with a month-long unlimited talk, text and 5 gigabytes of data package. For the record straight talk is not straight. In fact it is as crooked as a Virginia split rail fence.  You are not allowed to tether your phone to a computer or use mobile Wi-Fi. Unlimited talk doesn't really mean unlimited... If you talk too much on your phone in any one day, make too many long, continuous phone calls they will shut you down. It's all in the terms of service that you don't read until you buy it, get it home and open the pretty little package.

Basically it's a scam.

We were in bed by 12:30. We went to watch the bowl games with my parent's last night but had to call it a night early because my mom keeps her house so cold. Also Brandon got roped into helping my dad replace flooring in their bathroom today so he's already gone. Brandon was kinda cranky about it at first but this morning he informed me he thought about all the things my parents have done for us and they NEVER ask him for anything.

I work a few hours late this afternoon.

One month I will beat Dina in mileage running. Granted that month is probably years from now but it's a nice carrot out there to motivate me.

Brandon got all the way to my parents and my dad decided he didn't want to do the floor today. So they just hung out and watched the UT football game.

Last shift tomorrow having to see the drama filled girl who's leaving. Yay!!

Also need to get to work on Rusty. I've gotten very little done over my time off, just rest. But, the scales are back to showing a downward trend, so there's that to be positive about.

:pound: mini.
Morning all. Just the act of cyber-beating up mini has made this a better day. :hypocrite:
Last night's service was great. Tremendous spirit of God in the house, and I was pleasantly surprised to count 34 people there. Pastor was out of town, and usually when the cat's away, the mice play- in other words, 90 % of the church calls in. They kept it to around 35% of the church calling in, since we are running between 40 and 50 on average...
But the blessings of last night are just a memory, and I'm left here to slog through another workday. Bah.

Did eventually go to the gym yesterday. Couldn't stand to be in my apartment any longer.  Today is work and taking care of my friends dogs while they are gone to Biltmore for the day. They have a new puppy that is only a couple months old so he needs extra potty breaks.

Decided to tack on an extra class this semester. It's a requirement for both my majors and will only cost me about 160 to add on. It's my social statistics course and since I just got out of Probability and Statistics I kinda want to take it while its sort of fresh in there. Granted I'm now up to 18 hours for the semester [6 classes] but I tend to do better when I have more on my plate so to speak.

That's what the recipe she found called it..: :smirk2:
UNSTUFFED CABBAGE ROLLS
Ingredients:
1 1/2 to 2 pounds lean ground beef
1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
1 large onion, chopped
1 clove garlic, minced
1 small cabbage, chopped
2 cans (14.5 ounces each) low sodium diced tomatoes
1 can (8 ounces) tomato sauce
1/2 cup water
1 teaspoon ground black pepper
1 teaspoon sea salt
Directions:
In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the ground beef and onion and cook, stirring, until ground beef is no longer pink and onion is tender.
Add the garlic and continue cooking for 1 minute.
Add the chopped cabbage, tomatoes, tomato sauce, pepper, and salt. Bring to a boil. Cover and simmer for 20 to 30 minutes, or until cabbage is tender.
Yield: Serves 6 to 8.
Lou substituted ground deer meat for the lean ground beef,  drained Rotel for the tomatoes, and used Head Country Seasoning to season the meat while cooking it. It was PHENOMINALLY good. :fork:

I've done something like that before, thanks to Pinterest. I agree it tastes amazing and fairly decent on fat and calories if you are watching that sort of thing.

I'm alive. Don't have much to say these days.

Babysat today. Got BBQ chicken in the crock pot. Gonna go make some rice and veggies and eat dinner. Watch Little house on the Prairie. Color and listen to the Word, and go to bed. That's my plan for the evening.

I have 3 days off. Only plans thus far is meeting my advisor today to go over my '4 year plan' which will be more like 5. Haha! Think I've finally decided to go with German for my foreign language which starts next fall. Counting up my credits [and as long as I pass all my classes this Spring] I'll be a junior going into Summer!

I start work study next Tuesday and thankfully Keva got their heads out of their you know where and decided to hire someone. They are interviewing a girl I've known since she was around 3 or 4 for a few days a week. It'll be her first 'real job'. How did I get so old?

I had to start all over due to my lackluster previous attempts at college. It's going to take that long because I bungled a few classes and also because I'm double majoring. I'll have a BA in Sociology and a BA in Anthropology when it's all over with.

Brandon will be graduating in December with his BS in History. He plans to apply for grad school here and at UT-Knoxville on his way to a doctorate someday.

Been my day off. I have done nothing but cruise backroads in the Corvette. And, thanks to a conversation with mini that resulted in an ebay purchase last week- I have been listening to a type of music that would cause some to consider me backslidden, and surely caused my old youth pastor to clutch his chest, even without knowing.
See, I grew up when "hair bands" were somewhat popular. I LIKE screaming guitar- but the lyrics...no. Thanks to Mini, I wound up with some Petra, and a band I had forgotten- Whitecross. Good lyrics, very hard guitar. I like some of it- in limited quantities. My mother would've beat me if she heard it. It's perfect for a spirited cruise in the 'vette.

Jenn-I'm double majoring because there is a lot of overlap between the two. I couldn't decide between them so I chose them both. Plus it gives me the option in grad school to apply for a few different programs.

Back to Keva today. Thankfully they hired my recommendation yesterday and she starts Monday. When I first met her I was 16 and she was 3 or 4. Lol. Safe to say it's gonna be weird, but awesome.

Tell her login is at the very top now. Took me 20 minutes to find it. If she can't see the bar on top she won't find it.
