Hope you're all having a great day. I had my BP taken earlier and it was extremely low (around 80/40 low). I wasn't able to donate blood but they have another one here in a couple months. I'm taking a week-long trip with my family in about a week and we're possibly going to NYC, so I'm pretty excited! I just hope I don't end up like Kevin McCallister ;)
It's been really slow lately. Folks have run off, got married or just gotten busy.
Guess I can't judge since I had about a 7 year hiatus :)
I'm not running off OR getting married. Love is apparently not for me. I'm not lovable. At least not like that kind of love.

I tried to post yesterday, but discovered the drawback to my new internet...Thunderstorm= no internet. The car show has been fairly fun, but the stupid rain has been interfering with it. :pound: At least they claim Saturday will be pretty. No storms here today but there were some last night/this morning. It's just really windy but the temperature is really nice.
Had a wonderful time yesterday.
It stopped raining and was pretty, Galoot and family arrived and we had a good time, even attacking golden corral's buffet. :fork: Planned on getting up early this morning, but going to bed at nearly midnight shot that idea in the head- I just got up, and I hear no movement through the house, so I must conclude everyone else is still snoozing...
I've got 5 grandbabies visiting. :)
Went to my mom's house today. She got to see all her great grandbabies.
Urgh. My two weeks off flew by and now I'm back here at work. And I have to work this Saturday too. Bah. :pound:
The car show was good, seeing Galoot and family was better,and I managed to fix the loose shingles-AGAIN- and get the church yard mowed. I guess it wasn't a total bust. Oh, and the weed killer? For the first couple of days, I thought I'd been given fertilizer by mistake. But, now, a week later- scorched earth where I sprayed it. I am pleased.
Brandon had to work then he is going to see his dad. I got up and went to church. Now hanging out. Blogging. Etc. I don't see a need to go try to see my dad. I know he worked at AZ today but he's on nights at his other job and have no idea how his work/sleep schedule is. Plus with never knowing what mood my mom is I figure it's best for everyone for me to stay home.

I could recommend a good smartphone, but nobody wants a recommendation because they all get one of the phones their phone provider sells and think they got a great deal - "MY phone only cost TEN BUCKS" while ignoring the high monthly bill that subsidizes that phone - so I won't mention that the two Xperia phones I have are great.

I have had a bit of time to breath deep and pretty much tell her I have no desire to every speak to her again. I'm getting harassing phone calls on my cell and at my work place due to her bad debt. To the point yesterday they threatened to come serve me with HER papers. I tried to tell them if they knew her they would understand why I have little to nothing to do with her. This issue was supposed to be taken care of a month ago when it first started but obviously it didn't. My name got flagged with hers when Brandon and I filed our marriage license. I have many things I would like to call her and say to her but this is not the place and I have Jesus.....
Isaac- beautiful cars, especially the Bonneville. Probably spelled Galaxie like that because another company had rights on it in its actual spelling. For instance, in the '90's GMC made a hot little sport truck they wanted to call a Cyclone. Unfortunately, Mercury had the rights to that name from a time in the '60's when they produced a muscle car by that name. Refusing to accept defeat, GMC named their truck a "Syclone". :lol:
And Heather, if your laws are like ours, they can't serve her papers on you unless she lives at your house and you are at home when they do. If the do serve them, just toss 'em in the trash. You're not responsible for her debt and they aren't going to haul you to court. She'll just lose the lawsuit filed against her when she doesn't show...

Heather: In some states, if you ask them not to call, they can't legally call you again. Is there any way they can block the phone # that keeps calling? I would be frustrated too. My ex-SIL has issues like that and they call my mom sometimes and even send letters. She hasn't EVER lived with my mom and by brother has been divorced from her for at least 5 years. Is there any way you could call an attorney to see what your options are? I know they don't normally like to give out free advice but some will do a short phone interview to at least tell you what your options are.

Sweet Lord it is hot today. I got up early, stole Lou's car and headed to Memphis, where I bought two radios. They were a very good price...and the old (87 year old) ham I bought them from quickly became a friend when he took me in his shop and showed me his 6 vintage BMW bikes, and a '55 Jaguar roadster. :o Then he proceeded to show me pics of his channeled '32 Ford Roadster from the 60's, his multiple trophies and club plaques, and numerous pictures of his drag cars. I was drooling. Not only a car guy, but a car guy from the very era I find to be the highpoint of custom cars-the '50s and early 60's...
He had two club plaques from a 1940's Memphis car club- I begged to buy one, but he wouldn't part with them, telling me he had owned them since being a member shortly after World War 2. :o We talked for 30 minutes before I bought the radios. Delightful old guy, and worth the drive to visit even if I had not bought the radios...

Cleaning lady is here today. I'm about to pull out all our DVDs and go thru them to see which ones we want to keep and which is to be taken to the pawn shop to sell. Most are westerns that were dad's and we don't care to keep them since we don't watch them. Taking up space.
How much do you get for them at a Pawn Shop vs. something like Half Price Books. Or do ya'll have those...lol

There is... or was at least, a secondhand bookstore or three in Greeneville that would do that. I always took books back but I always wound up paying money anyway. Never had enough book credit to cover what I wanted to get.
Or maybe I just always got too much.
We have a Half Price Books. It's basically like Goodwill or Thrift shopping but for books, magazines, DVDs, CDs and vinyl.
Every year they have a HUGE clearance sale. Nothing over $2. It's tomorrow. We're going. Yay.
I'm still looking for a good vinyl shop though. Also in the process of making myself a new vinyl shelf/table. The one I have now is too small. No more room for anymore vinyl.
We have a MrK's in Johnson City then a McKay's in Knoxville. Mom and I went to MrK's the other day. I only got away with 1 book and mom actually paid for it.

Lord. It's Saturday and I'm at work. This is unnatural. And it's throwing my entire week off...:pound: And in sharing, preparations have begin for the July 15th Route 66 trip in rusty. I'm SO looking forward to it. I'm gonna post a ton of pics on Rusty's facebook page too.....assisted by the new digital camera I just ordered. Mini says it'll do all I need, and it was on sale, so why not? Yes, it's cheap compared to our local camera nuts' equipment- super cheap, actually, but it'll work for what I'm doing.
I've got a few more things to do on Rusty, and after the trip, I will turn my focus on the Studebaker. I really need to complete its paintjob and redo the brakes before September...plus re-roof the shop, and do all kind of trimming on bushes around the house, and burn the brush pile, and buy a camper...lord, I'm tired just thinking about it.
No no NO Bob you got the wrong highway! 64, not 66! 64 will go right from your town to mine. In fact it goes about a mile from my door.

Beautiful morning. Made it to work. Wish I was off today. Normal wish, not gonna happen. Oh, well. At least I have a good job. That is all.
I'm incredibly thankful for the small group we have ended up being a part of. Plus Brandon is finally making friends. I don't want to sound weird, but the dude has no friends.
Also just filled out for an on campus job through work study for the fall. I hope I get it. It would help out tremendously.

Worked all day. Came home, cooked steak,mowed yard, and cleaned out Rusty. Then I came in and hooked up one of the radios I bought and tried it out...talked to Germany, Puerto Rico, and West Virgina, then texted Germ to annoy him with the knowledge, since the radio shall possibly land in his hot little hands sometime.

I slept terrible last night. Working a mid today then helping the best and her hubs move into their new condo! They are moving from 45 minutes away to 15! Yay!!

Friends are moved in. They also fed me dinner which is good because I had no clue what we would have done otherwise.
Brandon has an interview for a stock job at Wal-Mart tomorrow. Please pray for him in the morning. This would help us tremendously. It costs him roughly $60 per week to drive 45 minutes to work and home. This job would be 10 minutes away and starting out at higher pay then he gets now [and he's been there 5 years. AZ is a joke.].
Urgh. Lord. This week is dragging.....I am SO ready for a weekend.
Interview went well. They told him stock but it is actually for a truck unloader. Only 2 spots open and they are interviewing only 2 people.
I've spent the morning trying to work out my own financial issues but I can't get the lawyers to answer their phone or call me back. I guess if all else fails I'll just drive to Maryville and show up on their front door.

2 hours post interview Brandon got a call back already for a 2nd interview tomorrow and she pretty much said a job offer!! Wahoo!!!

Brandon had his 2nd interview. He goes for a drug test in the morning and they began the process for his background check today.
I learned something new at Bible Study today...well I usually do, but this was interesting, morso than usual...
In Judges 3, when the guy kills the fat king and the dagger was closed around his fat, later when the servants found the door to his summer lounge area locked, they said "he must be covering his feet, we will wait"
I always assumed that meant that they thought he was napping...but apparently "covering his feet" means "using the restroom".
Never knew that. Pastor said it tonight and when I got home I read the passage in several different versions and sure enough that's what they meant.

So there's this guy I've been giving a ride to work. This morning I show up at his place again... wait a while again... knock on the door again... nobody home. AGAIN! Three hours later I get a text that he's having trouble with his new phone and his "I won't need a ride after all" text last night didn't go through.
While this isolated incident may have a perfectly reasonable explanation, this incident taken in context with all the others is pretty much the last straw. I am currently trying to decide whether I should tell him to take his transportation problems and his communication problems, roll them all into a singularity point and stuff them in a neutron star. It would leave him scrambling to find a way home tonight, and a way to and from work tomorrow, but I'm having trouble caring about that right now.
A bit callous? Yeah, it's not really like me. But I really am having a hard time finding a(nother) reason to care.
It's hard when you're on the giving end all the time & folks take it for granted.

Work was kind of ridiculous today. We only opened from 10-3. Every phone call I answered was 'Are you open today?". If I knew I wouldn't get in trouble I was about to reply with 'Nope. They paid me to come in just to answer the phone.'
Our friends having a cookout canceled due to the weather. Other friends are having a cookout too that we were invited to but there will be a LOT of drinking at that one so Brandon and I will be staying home in our jammies eating tacos :cool:

:hi: Lou was off today and wanted to see the falls that I took Chey to a few weeks ago, so we packed a picnic lunch, loaded up Rusty and headed out. Had a ball, stopping at a little country store, then going down to the falls. It was packed this time, so we continued a few miles further down the dirt road, where we found a picnic spot on the creek bank downstream. All in all, we put over 200 miles on Rusty today. It was a perfect day with my wonderful family...
Well thanks to FB I saw that the couple who canceled cookout plans with us instead went out with other couples to the fireworks. Whatever :roll:
We ended up having to go down the hill a bit to see the fireworks, but we could see them from the car so I still stayed in my jammies.
I planned a cookout and invited Mawmaw and Amanda. (A girl from church) Amanda showed up, we waited and waited and waited on Mawmaw...she didn't answer her text, so I called three times with no answer, I was getting worried cause she is sickly and has health problems and passes out or falls and such so I called a forth time and she finally answered and I said "Where you at? We are waiting on you" she said she was on the boat with her brother at the creek and when I asked if she was still coming she said no, so then I said "well were you gonna call and tell me you wasn't coming? We have been waiting on you before I cooked on the grill" and she said "no, I just decided not to come, I'm gonna eat withy brother!"
I was SOOO UPSET. Disappointed and just sad she wasn't even gonna call, and stood us up like that! Mom was dissappointed, and it's not like her to do that. Usually when she has plans she sticks to them and if something comes up, it's not like her to leave someone hanging!
Anyway, I had way too much food then so I called my friends Ann and Jimmy and begged them to come eat! They didn't want to impose, and Jimmy doesn't like socializing much, so they were gonna stay home, but they came over for a few hours and ate and we had a good time.
Then Amanda and I went to the beach at 3 and set up to wait for the fireworks. It rained. We sat in the rain for over an hour and waited it out. It was hilarious!! Then it cleared up about 7 and was perfect for the show at 9.
When I got home I was cold and wet and had sand everywhere, I scratched behind my ear and had sand back there...lol so I took a good long shower and went to bed.
It was a great day even with the disappointments.

I found out the local everything-costs-one-dollar store has Edward (tm) key lime pies for a dollar. So I bought a 24-pack case. This resulted in developing a habit of eating a slice of pie when I get home from work. All well and (burp) good... until I ran out of pie slices. So now I have a pie habit and no pie to support it.
Urgh. Here it is 11:30, I've been at work since 630, and I'm STILL fighting sleep. :pray: Lord, I REALLY would make a good rich man...I promise. Try me and see. :lol:

Sleepy seems to be the common lot today. I even read a comic this morning where a pastor jumped out of bed, dashed out the door, grabbed his sermon notes on the way out, got to church, apologized for being late... and everyone in the pews was asleep. He commented that being a preacher is so much easier when the 4th falls on a week day.
I've been tired today too.
We are currently under a flash flood watch and parts of downtown have already flooded.
Definitely sleepy here. Church was intense and drained me to the max. Trying to stay awake until 9 though. If I went to bed now I'd be up around 2am and every so often after that until my alarm would go off. And id still oversleep. Haha.
School terms over. Yay. Giving me a 90 in the history class I think. Still coming out with a high C in the anatomy class though. Ugh. She graded hard.
Next term starts July 13. Graphics and Layout Print & Heart of Mathmatics up next.
We had some amazing and powerful church today! After that long day yesterday and getting up early an the tiring day at church, mom and I went out for lunch, then AS SOON as I walked in the door I got my PJs on and took a nap. I fell asleep immediately and woke up at 5:30. The way it was dark and raining, I thought sure it was Monday 5:30am, and I was so confused. Mom was trying to hold a conversation and I was wondering why she was up and alert so early. It was awhile before my mind cleared and I realized it was still Sunday. Lol
I crashed hard apparently.
Sounds like something my great-grandmother once pulled. She took a nap, woke up and thought it was the next morning, so she went out squirrel hunting. Family came looking for her because it was getting on toward nightfall and nobody knew where she was. She got mad at them for tramping through the woods and scaring the squirrels away. :roll:

This has been the 2nd time in 3 weeks we have set off the smoke alarm in our apartment. We have a wonky eye on our stove that will just start smoking when you put anything on it. We've tried to clean it and it just doesn't matter. So we have to air our the apartment then wait for security to show up and tell them it's the same ole thing. Sheesh.
My mom had initially told me she was going on vacation in September and probably just taking my sister. [my family is so weird] But now she has decided to invite everyone [for now...].

The one in the phone isn't as good as this one. Seems like it's not high enough resolution when the pics are enlarged. I'm planning on taking a ton of pics and using mypublisher.com....I think that's right - to make a book for my uncle's Christmas gift .So I don't want grainy photos.

Brandon and I are supposed to have a 'talk' when he gets home. Once his DM found out he put in his notice at AZ they are offering him a transfer [that was supposed to be happening now for 3 months], a promotion [also 3 months], and a raise. After my 2 experiences working for them and their abuse of him for the past 5 years, I don't trust them. If he backs out of Wal-Mart at this point he won't be 'rehirable' ever in their system. I guess we will see what happens.....

Went to town, picked up some groceries, got Rusty's oil changed, and just generally done some odds and ends that needed done. Then I got a call from the guy I'd had restore the old 1946 Arkansas license plate- he had it done. It came out looking like new. Too good, in fact, to put on my rusty ole dirt road runnin' truck.
Came home and grilled out tonight. Not a lot I have to do this weekend. :clap:
Wal-Mart called this morning!!!!! :hyper: :hyper: So now even if AZ keeps dragging their feet, Brandon goes for orientation on Tuesday. Thank You Jesus!!!! I don't think I could have went all weekend without knowing anything. Now though I have to put up with Brandon having 5 days off in a row. He doesn't do good with one day off so we'll see if he paces a path in the floor.
:hi: And in sharing-ancestory.com is of the devil. Especially if you are a history buff. For some reason last night, I decided to see what I could find out about my family. About 9 oclock, after everyone was in bed, I googled my great grandfather's name, which led me to them. They suckered me in with tantalizing tidbits, and a free trial. At 4 oclock this morning I knew that I had family on both sides of the Civil war, traced my dad's family all the way back to the early 1600's in Germany- jewish origin too, which was no shock- and traced my dad's grandmother's side all the way back to England in the 1300's where the trail ran cold after a couple of knights and "Lady"'s. :o
Then I ran over and began tracing Mama's side, which led me to dutch ancestory in the 1500's. This stuff is amazing. Most of my family tree had been traced by a distant cousin the old fashioned way, back to the 1700's, years ago, and what they found on ancestory,com lines up perfectly...
Now I'm hooked. I want to know more. And because I had Chey today, I didn't get to sleep in past 9 am...so I'm going to bed early.

Yeah a lot of people are dropping the ole landline. Kinda makes our phone company nervous, which is why they've been pushing the internet/cable TV packages so hard.
We cut out all long distance calls out. Only reason we keep the landline at all is because everyone knows the number.
Yeah, the only reason we had it, as anyone who has tried to call that number will attest, was for internet purposes....with the satellite internet, it's not needed.
We put our landline on our cell plan & saved a lot of $ each month but still kept the # we've had for years and years. The only time I miss the landline is to send/receive faxes.

Lol...We is not kinned- yet. I DID find that a many great grandmother of mine "had difficulties" with her husband in the 1600's and he abandoned her rear. She then afflicted herself upon some Porter dude......but that's as close as I've come to being kin to galoot... However-our families did live in the same area in the late 1800's, early 1900's, so there's always that horrible chance..

Went on vacation to NY where my brother lives now. SO much fun! We didn't get to NYC but that's ok. I'd rather go with someone who's able to walk around a lot more. Having a couple AARP members isn't so much fun when there's a lot of walking involved :hypocrite:
Having problems with my BF but God'll work it out. Got some good advice from my mom and realized that every couple has their problems. Whenever I talk to her about relationships it makes me wonder how different things would be if she and my dad had stayed together. She talks about him a lot and sometimes compares him to her husband now (they've been together about 25 years). I guess I just get scared a lot because nothing is guaranteed and I don't know how things will work out in the future. I hate not being able to control everything :)
I got the email about renewing parking passes for next semester!!! Yes. I'm one of those weirdos who now LOVES school. We only have about 6 weeks left of summer!!
Not looking forward to the next 72 hours. We are under every kind of severe weather alert there is. 60-70 mph winds. Hail. Possible tornadoes. Brandon is kinda excited because now he doesn't live in a trailer. I however have to work and drive the tiniest car. She will be no match to 70 mph winds. :smirk2:

Shew, Lawd, I is tarred. Went to work and made it through the day...then rushed home and loaded up the lawn mower. Went and mowed the church yard since it was looking scraggly and I won't be here Friday to do it...then I came home, fixed the loose air dam on the 'vette, mowed my yard, and finished a couple of tiny projects on Rusty...All that in a heat index of 103.
Figures- we have a mild damp summer, with temps in the 80's, absolutely perfect, until I plan a 3-4 day jaunt across 3 to 5 states in a black truck without air conditioning. Then it's "pile on the coals, boys, they smokin' now"...who says God doesn't have a sense of humor? :laughhard:

We've made it as far as Miami, Oklahoma. Loving it...it's absolutely a history nut's dream to tool down 66. But- I was never so glad to see a hotel with air conditioning in my life. I've drank a gallon and half of water- and that doesn't count the four or five Dr. Peppers. Took nearly 200 pictures in the roughly 325 miles we've driven today.

We made it through the storms. A lot of downed trees and localized flooding.
Brandon was still holding out hope that AZ would call and of course they never did. He begrudgedly went to orientation at Wal-Mart Tuesday. He came home much happier than he left. He is 1 of 3 new people unloading truck and he gets along with them. Since he is in the back they are much more relaxed with dresscode. I think once he starts working he'll have a better attitude about it.

Seth's update on FB was the first thing I read this morning....... :(
I'm just upset with AZ because after 5 years of hardwork they didn't even respect him enough to call and tell him no. I applied for a work study job and the department I applied to [where I know nobody] was respectful enough to email me back saying they were not preceding with my application. But 5 years of service to them and nothing. They just strung him along and essentially forgot about him. They treat their employees terrible!
Heather: Sorry about his situation but maybe WM will work out much better. Everything happens for a reason.
So sorry to hear about Seth's dad :( I haven't talked to him in years but I've been through that and it's rough, but it does get easier.
I keep obsessing over a situation and I need prayer and God's will. Talking to my friend about it last night helped a lot and I have a plan but I'm still stressed about how things will go and what will happen. I read a verse last night that helped a lot and I feel better today but it's going to be about another month before I can truly get things resolved.
So sorry for Seth. It's hard to lose a parent....

Shew...okay. Uncle Ron and I struck out for the wilds of Route 66 in a black, un air-conditioned, 70 year old truck Wednesday morning. We left early, around 8 am, and the first 3 hours or so were quite pleasant.
Then we spent the next hour trying to locate the old highway, which was elusive thanks to road construction and a GPS that decided it was no longer relevant.
We found it though, and to make a long story short, we enjoyed the cruise across Missouri, a little bit of Kansas, and invaded Miami, Oklahoma, as previously disclosed....
Ate at Waylon's Ku-ku Burger, a Route 66 icon, and really enjoyed it.
The next day, we enjoyed Route 66 through Oklahoma immensely...right up until we stopped in Catoosa to see the Big Blue Whale. That's when it got exciting for uncle Ron.
I looked up as we were preparing to leave and saw a gorgeous old car pulling in, but what was weird, was that there was a new convertible Mustang with camera men hanging off the back in front of it..
The car was a '35 Auburn Phaeton. I'd have killed for it. As soon as the driver got out and the cameramen followed them off, I rushed over to drool over the Auburn, and of course get Rusty's picture made with it.
After doing so, we turned to leave when the driver walked out sans camera crew and called to me, asking about rusty. He walked over to talk, and when he leaned his head in the window to look inside rusty, my uncle sounded like a giddy pre teen...."OMG! Mike from "American Pickers"! Can I please get a picture?!?" Mike and Danielle from the show were gracious enough to pose for pictures with us, which absolutely made my Uncle's trip, since he is a HUGE fan of the show. I thought it was cool too...but I still want his Auburn.:lol:
I can almost hear the conversation now...
"Hey Mike, sorry about that guy spazzing over there. Now let's talk about this car. How much would you... Uncle? Nah, he's not my uncle. He's just some guy I picked up on the side of the road. Wish he'd stop telling people he's my uncle, but I felt sorry for him. Now about this car, how much would you take for it?"

Mowed the largest part of my yard yesterday, then I heard a noise....the new BadBoy has a broken pulley. I was majorly ticked. Called the dealership, it's still under warranty, so no harm no foul..but it'll be Friday before I can get it to them, which means my lawn will be knee high to a giraffe's neck. I blame Mini.

See, yesterday, I was returning to work after my little vacation, blissfully sure that I could coast through the day. then go listen to the pastor preach. Then I get a text from Pastor saying that it had been REQUESTED that I preach tonight, so, no backing out. Oh Lawd...I had a half done bible study....I immediately smelled a rat since Sunlight's fb page had a single comment - ":reallyevilgrin:" :pound: :pound:
But, no time for worrying since I had to get something together. Went in to the church- we have prayer before the service with the lights down low. When the lights are turned on, I look out into the congregation and see Mini and Chellebelle! I nearly fell off the platform. Sorry devils. Then, Sorry Devils #2 and #3, in the form of Sunlight and Burrito walked in...:pound:
After some worship, Mini came over and prayed with me- awesomeness that I needed....then Mini addressed the church and nearly took off preaching- I saw my ram in the bush there for a few, but the sorry rascal got his horns free and I had to preach anyway. :sadbounce:
Got a good response, and felt delivered, as well as grateful for friends like them. Truly if I never meet another GP'r, the friends I have made from here is worth every second I spend here.
Then Burrito and Sunlight came over and Burrito and I stayed up until 11-ish talking, which is why I shall be cranky and tired today. Not that it would've mattered, I'd have been cranky and tired if I'd went to bed at 8 o'clock- but at least I have someone to blame now. :P
Just keep the Dr. Pepper flowing and you'll be fine.

I'm at 32.5 and can I just say my 30's thus far is much, MUCH better than my 20's were.
Brandon is now out of training/orientation and is in full swing doing his job. Despite all his grumping, he told me yesterday that he actually really likes it. Plus there are days [like last night] that I made food and went to have lunch with him. [His lunch. My dinner] Granted I still haven't been able to fall asleep without him at least in the apartment. I can't keep staying up til after 1. Once school starts in a month, I have a 815 on mondays and wednesdays.
Chel & Robbie stopped by on their way through. :)
And then we went home and crashed for like 3 hrs... Love naps!
I apparently slept on the way home, took a nap when we got home, and slept all night till I had to go to work today. I must've been tired.

Granted it's an Apostolic tan...meaning I'm wearing a tee shirt and shorts so it's basically just my arms and face that are getting dark...but hey! It's more than I've ever had before...I'm not shockingly white one arms anymore. Lol

I'm done. I have this unyielding desire to fit in to some group. Any group really. The worst offender being my family. They have essentially kept me out of really being 'in' church for years now. Any time church is brought up I'm mocked, made fun of, and told how going to church isn't being 'true to myself'. Last night I went to my parents to do laundry and hang out with them since I hadn't really seen everyone since the wedding. My sister is even in because our cousin is getting married today. After taking another stab at me for having any sort of morals, my sister and mother then precede to start giggling about the number of people my sister has had 'relations' with!!!! Safe to say my jaw hit the floor because that number is above the number of years I've been on this planet. :noo: :noo: #1 I didn't need to know that because....EEWWW! and #2 Why am I the bad daughter for keeping it in my pants and praising God? I just don't understand!!!!
I couldn't sleep this morning so I'm up much earlier than needed. Also it's another day of family so pray for me I don't kill any of them.

Heather, I understand. I have basically given my whole adult life to the care of my parents...I'm the only one of my siblings who doesn't have a drinking or drug history, I'm the only one of my entire family who actually graduated HS, and yet when Mom gets mad, (and Dad too when he was alive) everything that is wrong is somehow blamed on me and I'm the one that's "ungrateful, spoiled and lazy good for nothing." (That was an actual quote from Dad more than once)
So I feel ya, but we gotta keep plugging along and doing what's right no matter what. God knows and in the end, that's all that counts.
I've been productive today. Did laundry, cleaned the kitchen, baked a birthday cake for some kids at Youth service tonight, and prepared lunch for tomorrow.
Fixing to shower and get dressed and be at the church by 3. I gotta play drums for service tonight cause our regular drummer has to work and can't come.

I only almost burst into tears a few times today. I got ribbed a lot for being too 'sensitive' as a child. I cried a lot. Movies. Books. If other people were upset or sad, I'd cry with them. My sister on the other hand shows no emotions except sarcastic, mad, and drunk. Sorry I have emotions Browning family.....

Brandon's work schedule has my sleep schedule all messed up. I have the worst time going to sleep before he gets home. Once he's in the door, I'm out. But this staying up til 1 am is brutal and last night I didn't get to sleep til after 2 because of my evening nap. School is in a month and it's going to kick my tale. Thankful today for church service that doesn't start til 2!!
MMM. Chocolate biscuits. Thanks to them, I shall survive today. That is all. :fork:

Fuzzy, I suspect my mama made those up herself as a sweet treat for us kids. We didn't do alot of store bought sweets when I was little. Regardless, one bite and I'm back to being ten years old...:lol:

She had surgery today and is doing well.

Got a message last night saying my step dad burned himself out in the yard. Had to be taken to a burn center but he's doing well. He may be released tomorrow. He has diabetes so they have to make sure he starts healing properly. Mom and my aunt went with him.
Other than that, nothing exciting to report. Just really feeling the desire to start working out or at least eating better. The last month I've been eating whatever I want and I know I need to get it back in control. Maybe I'll start Monday (like every other time :))
For awhile I had gotten in the habit of walking a couple miles in the evenings. Unfortunately my knees have been giving me a lot of problems lately. They constantly ache anymore.

For three months now I've been working six days a week. And Sunday isn't exactly a day off - I don't get paid, at least not in money, but I work on Sundays. So today by some miracle I finally get a day off!
I'm not going to the store, not giving my friend a ride to work, not answering the phone... I'm not even going out the front door except to feed the dog. I might not even go out to feed the dog, just lean out and throw the dog food in the general direction of his bowl.
After work yesterday I came home and rearranged the living room. I can't stand for everything to stay in the same place forever. Plus when we first moved in we just kind of put things where ever. Now I have an idea of how things need to flow.
No church last night. We share a building with another church and they had a funeral.

Did our usual running around errands for the day, then came home and paid a guy to bring two big loads of topsoil out to fix our septic issue and build up the pad for the swimming pool I plan to have installed before next season..It has actually been cooler here today. Of course, that is relative to the 100 degree plus heat index we've been experiencing. Probably around 90-ish with a slight breeze..
It was not so hot here as well, with much breeze. When I went out to sweep trash off the lot I found it had all blown across the street... except for a good five pounds of cigarette butts. Smokers were out in full force today. Why can't the wind blow those away too... :-\
Last day of my 6 day stretch. Cannot WAIT to have tomorrow off work!! My poor [pour? hehe] hand is killing me from the pitchers we use to make smoothies. It's the way the weight is on them. Oh well. Just one more body part that aches.
Just 3 more weeks til school starts!! Woo-hoo!!

Sharing- earlier this week, Lou had an obviously Apostolic lady come up to her in Walmart, ask where she went to church, then grabbed her in a hug, telling her she'd moved to the area and was looking for a church. Lou was happy...but we guarded against getting too excited- until tonight.
Prayer was going on in the sanctuary before church as usual. This older grandmotherly-type Apostolic lady walked in, sat down,and got right down to business praying down heaven's host. As the service progressed, we had a blow out- and this sister was flat out one of the best altar workers I have ever saw. If you could stand next to her for ten minutes and not be LOOKING for a devil to whup, you is dead and plucked up by the roots. Lands, I thought my Mama done showed up. :ugly:
And the best part is, she says she will be back Wednesday night and as long as she is living here....:happydance:

It's always nice to have people move into the area that are already churched and ready to serve. Don't get me wrong, new converts are great, but it's refreshing to have someone just jump in and help as soon as they walk in the door.
Mom is still a bad patient and driving me crazy...BUT, even though I've had to deal with her, I had a great weekend anyway. We had a back to school brunch for the kids on Saturday morning. Then I went to the mall and around with some friends on Saturday afternoon/evening, then We went to a family game room where I beat my girl Amanda in two games of pool and two games of air hockey. They sang karaoke and I didn't get home till laaaaaate. I haven't been out that late in ages! Today one of our SS kids got the Holy Ghost, we had the Drosts from Mexico minister to us, and then my aunt took me out to Ruby Tuesday where I enjoyed the most tender and amazing ribeye I've had in a long time. SOOOOO GOOD. It just melted in my mouth. Along with a salad from the garden bar and spaghetti squash.
I'm drooling just thinking about how good it was. Wish I was there for dinner now...
Then I went and saw mom. Didn't stay long cause I'm tired and wore out and she was whiney. So I stopped at the store for some milk and cat food and I'm back home fixing to get in my PJs and chill.
That is all.
Our Ruby Tuesday is long gone and no more. I loved that place. Best salad bar ever. :sadbounce:

I've been to 3 different Ruby Tuesdays in the past about year and a half and they have all been terrible. I used to LOVE eating there but once they made the chain wide jump to frozen everything about 2 years ago. YUCK!
Ended up going to the pool in our complex with my RA from last semester. I got a tad burnt. Ventured to Wal-Mart in my jammies early this morning to get some aloe after sun lotion. Oh sweet relief.

As someone who grew up with a 6'5" dad, I have an uncommon sense of what 'tall' actually means. Mini - would be tall. Brandon who is around 5'10"ish = not tall. lol
3 weeks from classes starting and I'm still tweaking my schedule. Had an online Spanish 1 class but an opening popped up in a very well reviewed English 1020 class on Tues/Thurs. Just means I'll have to cut my vacation a day short. Oh no. [said sarcastically as I know I'll be ready to push my family over the 9th floor balcony].

Ah, the wonder years of the old Godplace chatroom. Those were the days! :) I was probably 16 or so when I started around those parts. Wish I could say I was going to NAYC but I don't even think anyone from my church's youth group is going :/
Things have been pretty hectic. My BF passed a test that'll hopefully help him get a job he wants. He'll probably take a month off then start applying to various places. Trying to get a decent job in the field he wants is disheartening sometimes. They only want certain types of people and certain ages :updown:
I love shopping for my school books online. Just found my sociological research book that rents for $102 in the bookstore for 10.99 [shipping included] on Amazon. Yay!!

So not my day. Just got home and discovered that the a/c fan motor we have been hoping would last through the summer- didn't. :sadbounce: No telling what that will cost me...
Yikes! Bad time for the air to be out.
That's the upside of wall AC units. A new Frigidaire that is powerful enough to keep the whole attic tolerable in the dead of summer (15,000 BTU) was only $150 at Lowes. Repair alone on a central heat and air unit would be well over that.
Well. The diagnoses of the a/c unit confirmed what Robbie and I had both suspected. The moter was not long for this world. The a/c guys are gone to pick up the new motor- I'm praying they have it. If not, if they can get the proper size I can make mounting tabs for it.....
And last night coming back from church I hit the brakes on Lou's car which I never drive. I was rewarded by the sound of a machine shop coming from the right front brake- lots of grinding. Her response-"Oh yeah, I meant to tell you the brakes were making a funny noise". :pound:
Lord- yes, they were. Metal on metal. Fortunately it doesn't appear to have harmed the rotor badly. As much as I like southern Gospel music, the song that comes to mind is contemporary- Casting Crowns "Praise you in this Storm".
I am thanking God for His blessings and for giving me what we need.

Anyway- all is good. The brakes are repaired, the a/c is working and has dropped the temp in the house from 90 degrees to 88 in just 15 minutes, and the total damage for both catastrophic events was under $350, which the emergency fund covered. While I don't enjoy spending that money, it is there for that purpose, and I'm thankful to have had it. Been times in my life I'd have had to sweat under a fan and hope the Flintstone method of stopping worked. Thank God for His provision..

We ran around on back roads and tested out a bbq joint...I didn't eat a lot, because I am truthfully trying to cut back, but the 3 ribs, spoonful of beans, spoonful of potato salad and 4 onion rings were delicious, even if I did look covetously at my wife's Dr Pepper. I gotta say the onion rings were the best I've ever had...
Sadly, although leftovers were brought home I'll not get them. Oh well. This rabbit food will suffice..

I'm super proud of him.] I maybe have 1 Cherry Coke a week and at that I can't drink it all at one time. It's way too sweet. I make a 20 oz last 2-3 days. We make our own sweet tea at home so we can cut back on the sugar. I do still occasionally indulge in a Pal's sweet tea but even then I can't drink it all.
I think it'd be easier to cut back on sodas if I liked tea.

There is only one locally that still has my favorite frappe. Luckily its the one right by my house. It's the Caramel Ribbon Crunch. Even thinking about it makes me want to go get another but not today...What were your favorite drinks?
I like sweet tea. I'm from Tennessee afterall. But I wish I could find a hot tea I like. There was a tropical green tea we used to have back in my coffee shop years but I cannot find it anywhere around here.

Morning,all. Back at work. I'm glad it is my Friday. Over a week caffeine free. I've ate more salads than most rabbits, and am developing a taste for them, but I lust after a greasy cheeseburger. Calorie counting is now a part of my life- I'm averaging around 1100 calories a day. IF I can stay on that regiment, I'll hit my target weight by the end of the year. I'm ready to see results though. No snack cakes, no Dr Pepper, and no good red meat means there BETTER be results. :pound:

I should be packing. But my phone keeps beeping and buzzing and I have to keep replying to stuff.
I am REALLY looking forward to tomorrow. I'm headed to Pensacola for their annual revival with Bro Stoneking. My brother and family is going so I'll see my kids. I have tons of friends there, and I get to hear good Word without the responsibility of having to do anything in the service! I love ministry, don't get me wrong, but I crave services that I can just enjoy and be ministered TO. It's few and far between these days that I get to go anywhere, so I'm gonna enjoy it.
Thankfully mom is taken care of, so I can go. Plus I've lined up several ladies from our church to visit her so she won't be so lonely while I'm gone.
I am excited! Thank God for my Aunt Linda who invited me to go, and is funding me all the way. I am grateful for the blessings in my life. Even the little ones.
Brandon and I both have a day off together. We are headed out shortly to make car payments. Plus since we will be in Bristol we are having lunch with my mom. Since dad is on nights now she tries to get out of the house on her days off.
I'm so ready for school to start and for vacation to get here. Yall are going to get tired of me counting down. lol.

Also going to swing by work to say goodbye to a coworker whose last day is today. She only wanted to work this summer and we've all threatened to track her down for next summer too.
SCORE getting free lunch today. One of my new grad pharmacists - he starts AS a pharmacist next week, his dad owns deli's everywhere - and he has one in an office building near here. he's bringing me catfish, hushpuppies and some sort of broccoli something casserole. Says people RAVE about his dads cooking. Guess we about to find OUT!

Facebook actually notifies you. The other day I had a notification that me and my sister have been FB friends for 7 years and pictures that had both of us tagged in them were with it.
Maintenance came and cleaned our air filters this morning. Now I know how they come out of the units and I'll be doing it more often. I have to go back to work this afternoon. Brandon luckily has the day off as he ran over his foot with a pallet jack last night. It's not pretty.

And in sharing, I have spent my day puttering around backroads with Chey and her friend, teaching them how to drive a standard in Rusty.
Now I'm about to go mow the church yard. And for any who are interested- I'm still soda pop/Dr Pepper free. Nary a one. And still averaging between a thousand and fifteen hundred calories a day. PF-I've been keeping up with their blog for quite a few months now. They hadn't left Abu Dhabi yet when I started following.
Speaking of food habits, I've decided to finally try to find a sub for peanut butter. It's been 2.5 years now and I've finally narrowed down that my problem is actually the high fat content in the peanut. I tried almond butter the other night but it's just so blah. Tonight I'm going to finally try nutella since it's a hazelnut spread. Wish me luck!

Just read the ingredients. Nutella is basically a semiliquid candy bar. It's good - sooooo good! - but it's not as healthy as peanut butter.
Do you use real peanut butter - just peanuts and salt - or do you use traditional "peanut" butter that has all sorts of other goop in it?
By the way the fat content in peanut butter is good for you, so they say. It's a good kind of fat. At least in moderation... I wouldn't eat peanut butter for every meal, but a peanut butter sandwich for supper is good.

With my gallbladder less body, I cannot process the fat content that is in peanut butter [whether it is good for me or not]. Even just a small amount of peanut butter and I'm laying in the floor praying for Jesus to come take me. The nutella will not necessary be for nutritional value. I just really miss peanut butter. I'd eat it almost daily. Haven't had hardly any in 2.5 years. Doctors told me it's normally only a couple weeks to months post surgery that people have issues. But here I am years later. Tried just a dime size about about 4 months ago. Still terrible on me. Sigh.
Summer colds are the worst. I know, 'cause I'm suffering from one. Bah. :pound: I could eat cardboard right now and not taste it, I'm so stopped up.

It's rainy and depressing here today. Another long shift at work. I haven't slept well for the last 2 nights. That's all my complaining for today.
We have a guy coming this week to try out for our music minister director person.
So we had Young Adult prayer (as we do every Monday at 8pm), and then I went upstairs to help the bestie and her husband and various others to move all of our practice music stuff from one room that has awful AC to another room that has super great AC cus we have practice/meet & greet both tonight and Saturday for Sunday's service with this guy to see if he's it or not. I didn't get home until midnight. I tired. :sleep:
Lord help me, I went off the reservation tonight on the diet. :smirk:
Ate a lean broiled pork chop, spoon of corn, spoon of green beans, and slice of low calorie bread for dinner. Lou had raisin cookies made (approx. 60 cal each) so I snuck two of them and two of those tiny little single serving 3 inch long KitKat bars. Probably 1800-2000 calories for the day, and I've been so good about staying around 1100. :pound: But Lord, I had to eat.
Still only water though to drink, and 3 months ago, I would've ate 2 chops, twice the corn, all of the cookies, and chased it all with a Dr Pepper. So that's progress at least. And at the end of July, my pudgy butt weighed in at 251. This morning, same scale- 238. May or may not be accurate, but it is showing progress for me so I shall keep it up..
I'm so tired that I just tried to register for GP instead of sign in :o
Work was rough. I love the girl I worked with, but man oh man she was in rare form today. It was 7 hours straight with just me and her and no buffer for all her zaniness. And not zaniness in a good way.
Does anyone eat cream of wheat? I find I'm in the minority when I mention it.
Nothing against cream of wheat... but nothing really for it either. I could eat half a gallon and not feel full. I'd rather have oatmeal.
Thank you Jesus for some good sleep! Also I'm glad the transition back to getting up earlier is going smoother than I thought it would. I slept a little later today than I have been the past week. I made it til 7:35.

And I don't much like breakfast tacos. I don't really like mixing mexican styles with my breakfast foods. lol and while I tell melbs she's the minority in cream of wheat - i can't honestly say i know what it tastes like, so i would try it!

I eat lunch for breakfast. Some find this weird, but I like a good tuna sandwich sometimes for breakfast. Or a bowl of chili.
But this morning I think I will have a banana and then I will have five scrambled eggs on bread with a bit of sharp cheddar.

French toast, made with sourdough bread, milk that didn't come from a can and eggs from local chickens. I love living in the country. With maple syrup.
Fruit from the Amish folks. Always a good start to breakfast. Actually, always good any time.
Turkey sandwich with stoneground mustard. Turkey should be "shaved" thickness please, and at least half an inch of it across the bread. Just ignore my dog staring at me with pleading eyes.
Tuna sandwich dip. Mix up tuna like you're going to make a sandwich, but eat it with lime tortilla chips instead.

I had wife guilt and ended up outside to help with the starter. Which was good because he ended up have to jack the car off the ground. I set up camp in the parking spot beside him so no idiot tried to run him over. We have plenty of them on campus now.

I muddled through buying a more expensive brand, and picked up ingredients for a cauliflower-crust pizza and a smoked turkey that was on sale. Now I'm fixing to eat my tuna on low calorie wheat and four pickled asparagus spears, and go to the funeral of an old friend and former coworker.

Oh wait unless you meant Pepperidge Farm as the high priced one cus yea. haha I forget they make one too.

On the bright side, I did find some Sara Lee cinnamon swirl bread that is only 80 calories a slice, so I may alter the breakfast routine from Yogurt and substitute a piece of it some mornings. :fork:

Yea the Sara Lee and the Nature's Own are both like $3.49 ish here. I haven't seen a store brand 40-calorie though. I don't shop at Walmart though. lol The Pepperidge Farm is more.

Keep on the trail Bobby. Remember my uncle Fred, the guy you talked to when you were here? He used to be bigger than what you saw. He also used to have to take a "sugar pill" (a pill for high blood sugar, not a pill made of sugar) for diabetes. After a serious talk with his doctor he started doing really well with his eating habits. As he dropped weight his diabetes also went away. And a few other things got better too.
I bought bagel thins today...everything flavor. Wow. I love.
Because of a friend's birthday, we are about to invade a local all you can eat sushi bar. I intend to eat sushi until some of the fish threaten to swim back upstream.
Shew, Lawd. I is whupped nine ways to sunday. Woke up this morning and it was beautiful out, with a light breeze. So- Chey and I decided to go hike at Petit Jean. We stopped and picked up her friend Hayden, and headed off with the intention of hiking to the bottom of Cedar Falls. Unfortunantly, being the expert woodsman that I am, I took the wrong trail. We wound up hiking several miles across the mountain to the Rock House Cave, which Mini should remember. No prob, but Rusty was now several miles away. We walked back to him, logging a total of nearly six miles walked, which for me is on par with Peter walking on the water.
I don't think I have ever saw a more beautiful sight than that old truck and the 50 year old cooler full of ice water. :lol:
Came home and cooked up a Cauliflower crust pizza- easy to do, and tasty, as well as filling. For those interested, Recipe follows - (1lb cauliflower, two eggs...grate cauliflower fine, then cook in the microwave for 5 minutes. Pour into a towel, and press water out. Pour cauliflower into bowl, mix two eggs into cauliflower until well mixed, then pour onto parchment paper on cookie sheet. Shape into pizza crust. Top as desired- I used Classico creamy spinach and parmesan sauce, Parmasian-Romano grated cheese, and 5 pepperonis- and place into a preheated oven at 450 degrees for about 7 minutes.) Very tasty, although I'm still annoyed that I forgot my mushrooms I'd bought for the purpose.
Now I'm gonna veg. And if I get hungry later in the evening, I have enough calories saved that I can enjoy a small bowl of ice cream, and maybe some raisins. :clap:
Came home. Grilled some steaks, had a great dinner...
Then my iPad died. I have everything backed up, but you dont realize how much you accumulate on there until it all gets wiped out.

Just got home from my friends. She can cook!! Brought leftovers home to Brandon. He's currently passing a kidney stone so he got sent home from work. Prayers appreciated.
Work. Rainy, boring day. Feel like going home and going to bed.
Today I am thankful for 2 pm church services. We HAD to go to the grocery store and the Wal-Mart. Towels are currently in the washer. We were out of detergent and towels :o Not a good prospect if you ask me.
School starts tomorrow. Today is the last day I'm parking in our lot right outside our apartment. Yesterday I almost got ran over by the new neighbors. I think they forget the race was 20 minutes away in Bristol, not here on campus. The walking will be good for me anyway. My new FitBit will be in sometime after Wednesday so I'll see exactly how much walking I'll be doing.

Morning, all. It's Monday. And in sharing, I got discouraged and mad last night. All this dieting....I bought is a new digital scale to replace our old scale. Stepped on it, and it showed me at 250....where I started from weeks ago. I couldn't believe my old scale was off that much.
Yelled at lou to show her, and stepped on it again-254! Ten minutes later-249. And it showed lou's weight ten lbs higher than she weighed at the dr's office. I'm thinking it is defective. Our old scale, on the other hand, reflects that I am at 234....confused and not sure what to believe. I told Lou if I am still at 250 after three weeks of 1000-1400 calories, I'm going to quit and go back to eating my burgers and red meat. She tells me that the weight loss is visible in my belly area..
We need to buy a scale. Brandon just keeps borrowing one from the HOME department when he's at work then putting it back on the shelf. :roll:

They say it is. The x-Rays show it healed up pretty well. Still have almost three weeks she can't put any weight on it still but they say she is doing great with therapy and she is, I've seen it. It's good if she behaves herself and does what's she's told.

I had a somewhat busy weekend. Discovered, to my surprise, that I am an idiot....last spring, I bought a chainsaw used from a local pawn shop. Used it a time or two, then towards the end of last spring, it wouldn't start. I cranked and cranked, got mad, threw it, then put it in the shop.
Friday I cleaned the shop. Saw it setting there, so I picked it up, got mad again, then checked the gas. It was bone dry. I poured some gas in it and it started on the second crank. So I yelled, and threw a fit over my own stupidity last spring. :roll:
I spent the rest of the day Friday doing lawn work, then yesterday, after an enjoyable ride in Rusty, I went to Bro and Sis Wilson's 50th wedding anniversary party. Lou's mama took Chey, so Lou and I took the cleaned up and shiny Corvette on a date night, where I ate the first red meat I've had in a month- a small New York strip, and it was within my calories budgeted when I passed on toast and potatoes and substituted a salad and green beans. :clap: All in all- a terrific weekend.
It's nice to be back home from the birthday party. I'm thankful to live outside a small town & not in the city.

Life has been about the same as usual for me here. Found out my music computer wouldn't run .NET 4.0 framework no matter what fix I tried, so I wiped the whole system and reinstalled from the backup I made when I got the computer. Then I found out whatever problem it was came with the computer when I got it, cause it still wouldn't work. So I backed up the drivers to a flash drive, wiped out the whole system again and reinstalled from a Windows 7 disk. Then I spent a few hours setting the computer up the way I want again.
All in all, about 7 hours wasted because of a computer malfunction. Computers will be the death of me one day, I'm sure of it.

You might be surprised, old man. I managed to get myself awake without too much trouble, and as far as the Dr Pepper machine- I've taken Chey and bought her Dr Pepper, walk past a free Dr Pepper dispenser every morning, and even have declined donuts when they were offered fresh, hot and free.
No, I'm gonna get down to 200 lbs or die trying......Now after I attain that goal, I'll be honest. I intend to occasionally allow myself a Dr Pepper and a burger. But until I get to the maintaining stage, I simply can't give in, or the last month will have been for naught.

I am pleased. Those of you that have been to my house know that it is a no man's land for cell phone reception. Robbie and I discussed a cell phone repater, but I really did not want to spend $500 and it not work...the Lord provided though. I was talking with a ham friend on the way to work the other day and mentioned it. He immediately told me that I was the second person to mention a cell phone repeater in as many days, as a mutual ham friend had just bought one.
As luck and God would have it, that evening I heard him on the radio and asked about the repeater he'd bought....he told me all about it, then said " I bought a 4 g model because we needed it for internet. I have a 3 g model I don't need. If you want it, come get it."
I was overjoyed and amazed. I had to buy a $10 piece of coax. Tonight I put it up on one of my ham antennas, about 20 feet off the ground. Voila. Dead spot no more. Talked to Kim, Min, Taco, and a work friend with no issues. I am happy.

About the diet - all joking aside, I can believe you Bro. Bobby. My uncle Fred once took a loaf or two of bread every time I made a batch. Once he got serious about health (not that my bread is unhealthy, but his blood sugar...) he won't even eat a slice when he's here at the house. So I can believe you would be serious enough even to pass up free Dr. Pepper.

And finished up all of my assignments for this term. Means NO homework over the weekend. Term ends Sept 8th. New term starts Sept 21. So excited to have 2 weeks off of school!

I just got back from Sonic...I ALMOST got the DP slush with real cream, but my latest favorite addiction is a Lemonade cream slush. Since we don't have a Chick Fil A here, I can't get their frozen lemonade that I adore so much...Sonic is the next best thing.

Internet at the condo is spotty at best. [which is weird because we've never had a problem before]. So I came out to Starbucks to get some 'peace' from my family and do some homework. Well I read one article that is only available online, I'm posting this, then I'm bolting. There are barely any seats. I can't plug in anywhere. Oh, and it's SLAMMED.
Rainy vacation so far, but I've gotten a few walks on the beach in and I'm not at work. So I'm ok with it.
Try McDonalds, Burger King or subway. All of them should have tables that are near power outlets, and all of them should have free Wi-Fi. And you don't have to buy a meal to justify hanging out there, although it might be nice to buy a slice of pie or something.
When I'm bumming WiFi in public, I usually just get a drink. But luckily our church has WiFi and plenty of outlets and comfy chairs in our air-conditioned foyer...no purchase nessessary!
Lord have mercy. I'm whipped. Wound up buying Chey a new twin bed I hadn't planned on, then painting and decorating it to match. A CERTAIN evil devil here who has tried to get me in trouble with his wife immediately grabbed up a pic I posted on fb and proceeded to blast me on an apostolic ham forum...:pound: So, being stupid, I gave him more fodder. One of the hams that is assistant pastor about two hours north of me decided that he'd make a facebook group limited for apostolic hams. It's working out pretty nicely. We ask technical questions and let everyone know what frequency we are meeting on, then get everyone there and enjoy a nice chat.
And I'm back at work. Will work today and tomorrow, then off for 3 days...

Somehow found the power to get completely unpacked last night. Slept 10 hours. Now it's a day of homework. I only have 1 class. Plus we have to go to the store later since we depleted ours pre-vacation.
It's a little cooler here. Not high 90s now, thankfully.
I went from 90s on the South Carolina coast to 71 today in East Tennessee. I've been cold all day but I much prefer that.
Well. Today was the long awaited doctor visit. The bad news is his scale is significately different from mine. Mine said this morning 233 with clothing on...his was 14 lbs higher. BUT.....his, according to my chart showed me last month at 269 lbs, NOT the 251 I had. At any rate, all agree that I have lost at least 22 lbs since August 9. Doctor said he expected my liver functions would be fine....unlike his nurse, he seemed to think that while they were high they weren't dangerously so, just something to stay on top of. He was overjoyed by my weight loss and seemed a bit amazed that I had shed so much so quickly. He told me to keep on doing exactly what I have been doing, saying I looked like a different man. My goal is still 200 lbs by the first of the year......

Oh, never mind. Down TO 200. When I first read that I wondered if there would be any Bobby left when you were done.
I've just been really on edge the last day or so. No idea what is going on but I don't like it. I feel like I could freak out at any moment. Pray for me today if you would.
2 classes and back to work today. I have to work the next 4 days [including sunday....grumble grumble] to make up for taking a vacation. Not that I asked to work that much, they just went ahead and threw me on the schedule without even mentioning it to me... :smirk2:
Between my general body discomfort and Brandon's new weight loss, we have decided to change up our eating habits. I have never had so many fruits and vegetables in my house at the same time. Also we bought a rice cooker [for me] that will also steam veggies [for him...and eventually me]. Sadly I grew up in a home that ate a lot of processed, on the run, type meals and never really had vegetables around. [thus my poptart/fruit snack addiction.] It's a food group I've had to start trying to like as I've gotten older. Brandon on the other hand grew up with a garden in his front yard and loves all the veggies.
I have a mid-shift today and Brandon goes back to work this evening. I also have my first sunday shift tomorrow and somehow I ended up getting put on the schedule for next sunday too. Heather is not happy.
I understand about the veggies. I don't eat as many as I should.
Been a busy weekend...went to the county fair Friday night. It was a disappointment. Not nearly as big as I recalled, and they charged $4 to get in the gate, and $24 for a wristband to let you ride the rides. Fortunately, we only bought one, as Chey's riding partner, Hayden, got money from his dad to go. They had a ball. I hated it.
Then Saturday after Lou got off work, I cruised over to mini-ster's and helped him repair and install an antenna for his ham radio setup, then he and I wound up at Golden Corral with our very own Newsman, who proceeded to totally wipe out an eavesdropping couple at a nearby table by giving Mini and I advice on cleaning 'possums for dinner. The look on the eavesdropper's face...:laughhard:
Then, as we were leaving, Mini and I were treated to Newsman's incredible impersonation of some pop singer named Meghan Trainor. Unfortunately, we did NOT have a camera waiting, and missed a golden opportunity for blackmail.
I got home around 9:30....and 4:45 came WAY too soon. Now I am back at work. Bah.

I don't remember much eating very many vegetables. Potatoes and beans. Maybe more fruit. I don't remember. Now I love it. We have a local produce co-op that I participate in sometimes. Love their produce! I like produce.
I'm doing good this week - week 2 of my calorie counting! I made mini-quiche for breakfasts this week. Cut up the pineapple and the pomegranate and proportioned it. Going home tonight to make a pork chop with this vegetable medley on top. Spiraled zucchini and squash, cherry tomatoes, and feta. I'm excited. Super low calorie.

I semi-cheated....they had Mountain dew "Dewshine" for sale....glass bottled retro soda, and it was only 160 calories. I went ahead and "treated" myself since I could spare the calories. Stupid thing was so sweet it was sickening. I drank it, but it took me about 3 hours of sipping. Wasn't near the pleasure I imagined it would be..
Back at work too, with the duty of teaching/preaching tonight. Message I have is not necessarily a pleasant one, but unless something changes, I feel it's in line with God. We shall see.
Had my first Prob and Stats test this morning. I feel fairly decent about it. We ended up having a week off of that class. The teachers son passed away. My Religion, Society, and Culture class has ended up with this week off due to that instructors mother passing. It's been a weird semester so far to say the least.
Think I'm going to make some scrambled eggs before my next class.

It's nothing compared to Chicken Express here. lol theirs is MUCHO better and sweeter. I love sweet tea - but I don't like McD sweet tea. I dunno if it's brewed too dark? It just taste gross.

BTW..I'm on a lemonade kick lately...yesterday at Sonic I got a slush, made with squeezed lemons. Just the lemon juice and the slush mix. Amazing! One of my friends that work there told me to try it since I get the lemonade cream slush a lot. She said that the lemonade cream slush is made with the fountain minute maid lemonade, but if you ask, they will squeeze fresh lemons in your cup and add the slush mix and that is SOOOO much better!
Plus it's cheaper and I can get it at happy hour for half price. Cream slushes are not compatible with happy hour. Lol
I'm not much for sour & lemonade is too sour for me.

In local news: Since I work Monday through Saturday (and Sunday is not really a day off... I work then too) I asked she-who-makes-the-schedules at work if I could have one weekday a month off. I figured one day out of the whole month wouldn't cause the store to come to a grinding halt. And I got it! Yesterday I had a day off! :D :D :D
20 loaves of bread done and stashed in the freezer. And for a miraculous change I washed all the loaf pans THE SAME DAY! This is a wonder, as I usually leave them for the next day.
Also: hair was cut, chili was made, water bottles were refilled at the spring, music practice CD was left at church for someone to pick up, a story was finished and I got some work done on a soundtrack.
Maybe I should ask for a day off more often. Get some stuff done around here.
I'm spending a wild Friday night at home doing homework. Not that I really have a whole lot, but I know my Sunday is packed and I don't want to have to stress about it.
Weighed myself at my parents today. Between vacation and the knee issues....I'm now the heaviest I've ever been. Time to get serious with the eating and the exercise. Since I can't run like I used to I guess I'll be making friends with the elliptical. Also, no more bus rides up the hill after class.
Have spent the last 4 hours on my head under the dash of my Corvette, trying to fix the climate control. So not happy...and tomorrow probably won't be any better because I've got to put it back together.

And in sharing, managed to re-assemble the Corvette and have it work perfectly, which pleased me to no end. Drove around in Rusty a bit...then came back to conclude some of the work on the 'vette when I hear all kinds of screaming..."Daddy,daddy, a SNAKE!" I go to check it out- it was indeed a snake, a three and a half to four foot Copperhead to be exact. He appeared 1) to have been quite healthy judging by his diameter and 2) quite ill tempered over the kids disturbing him, I guess. One shot from the '40 made him decide to leave the area quickly, but it was too late for him. I detest snakes and he wasn't leaving alive. Another shot removed his head, and now I can sleep at night..
One of the youth's from my old church got bit by a copperhead this summer [It was one of the King boys. I think I remember someone in here knowing the Kings...] He was in the hospital for a few days. His younger brother went back out in the field, caught and killed the snake the next day.
If it ain't a black snake, it should be a dead snake. I only like the black ones because the eat the other ones!
Got my rear in gear this evening. Went for a wog [walk/jog]. Probably could have gotten further than 1.5 miles had I not bit it on the last step by the parking garage. Thankfully just a stubbed wrist and no blood.
Whenever I see a snake on the road I swerve to hit it. Then I back up and hit it again to make sure.
Yes! I have done that several times! Gives me great satisfaction to kill those horrible creatures.
I remember when I was a young kid, my dad and I used to fill up his old VW Beetle and just cruise around the country side. We popped around a curve one time and there was a black snake stretched all the way across the road. You couldn't see it's head or tail. It was a very good size around too. I remember being perplexed as dad shifted into reverse and we back up the road. I asked him why. He said #1 it was big enough it could possible damage the car and #2 he didn't want all the farmers coming after him for killing their pest control.
So now I swerve to miss the black ones, but I've been known to back up and run back over the non-black ones.
Yeah, I will make a (reluctant) exception for green snakes and black snakes. Everything else is fair game.
I was mowing Grandma's yard, just got started on the back forty and a long black line slid by in front of the mower. Wasn't taking his time but he wasn't in a big hurry either. Kinda gave me a start at first but then I just let him go by.

The lottery is Tennessee's stupidity tax. Proceeds go to advance intelligent people. The people stupid enough to buy lottery tickets pay for it. Sounds about right to me.

Back to functioning at work again. After being without a computer since Tuesday of last week. Window's 7 migration upgrade. :roll:
Such a joke. It comes back still not functional. Spent the most of Wednesday on the phone with IT and Migration departments working to get it functional. LOVELY. Now it's back to working - and came in this morning with my bosses laptop on my desk. His came back from migration in the same state mine was in, so I knew how to fix it. But it had another issue that needed to be resolved to be able to connect to the CVS network, in order for me to get it to where it needed to be.
Now I'm sitting in my chair doing absolutely nothing. My brains fried. :sofachair:

I tried to email technical support for assistance with an online application I have to use for my probability and statistics course. Absolutely no help. They told me I have 2 accounts under the same email and to log in with that email account. :roll: I guess I'm gonna have to call and see if I can get it sorted out.
On a much happier note, my mom kinda threw up for a loop saying we were all going to Ohio in 2 weeks. We'll know today if Brandon can get off or not [we doubt it as it's a weekend at Walmart and he was just off for vacation] and my sister has already bailed [and it was her idea to start off with]. If Brandon doesn't get off work, I'm going on my own adventure NOT with my family. :cool:

I want to make it there in one piece, enjoy hanging out with a dear friend, have awesome church, and make it back to East Tennessee in one piece. Brandon has also requested that I burn down the Alabama football stadium but I think I'm going to pass on that request. :cool: I'm just excited to finally be meeting in person more GP-ers. I haven't seen anyone since Elona and Jason's wedding.
On that note: are we going to try to do a get together this summer? I know we've talked about it before but I have finally have a dependable car and could actually make it happen. I would even be willing to travel to [God forsaken] Arkansas if that's good for everyone.
I only work 4 hours today and it's not til 3. Woke up this morning and my shoulders are pinched. I know there is another term I should probably use for that but it's just where I sleep too long on either side and it's like I pinched nerves or something in there.
I have been to Arkansas before. It's not as God forsaken as they say. Sure, the east is pretty flat, boring and... Okay, God forsaken. But the middle isn't so bad.

My ex-husband is originally from Arkansas. We went there for a long weekend to watch his younger brother graduate from high school. The best way to sum it up is that I'm allergic to the state. I got sick the 2nd day there and was sick for 3 weeks from that point. It was miserable.

Well, duh. I love Lou more than the radio, too. Most of the time. :biglaugh: But it is a cool hobby.
And in sharing, I is back at work. Had to take up the belt a bit more. I had about four days straight where I eased over the 1100 calorie limit I have imposed on myself, but not by much. I'm back on track now. Even managed to go to dinner with the Uncle and not eat any of those delicious, loaded with calories yeast rolls and honey butter.
This weekend was the fall swap meet on Petit Jean. Looked at a nicely redone '69 Rambler American 2 door, and considered doing some dealing to acquire it, but talked myself out of it.
Gotta make it through this week- might run out Thursday night to Jethro, Arkansas, about halfway to Mini's, for a regional WPF meeting.
I dunno... Robbie didn't seem much of a ham when we were all meeting in AR. He seemed kind of quiet.
Bobby seemed like more of a ham than any of the rest of us. Kind of a cross between a ham and Jehu.

Had tutoring this morning. I missed a class last week in prob and stats. I actually knew more than I thought I did. Oh and I had to walk back and forth to campus in the rain. The bus was so full not everyone could get on.
Gonna make coffee, clean up the kitchen and start the chicken for chicken and dumplings. Gotta call in some scripts for mom at the pharmacy and then go get them and some biscuits to finish dinner.
Other than that I have no plans for anything today.
Spent all day on the range. Talked with an old friend who is well versed in weight loss. He recommended me to have a "cheat" day, and enjoy a meal, especially heavy on carbs, to kind of reset my metabolism. I took his advice...had country style ribs (mostly lean), green beans, and- oh heavenly delight- a cup of real garlic mashed potatoes. For dessert I am enjoying a few graham crackers. I will probably nudge 2,000 calories for the first time in two months. Tomorrow will be back to the diet.....
My heart is so happy right now!!!! My best friend moved away for a job last spring. [She even had to miss the wedding due to training]. She has gotten a new job and moved back to the area!!! I even got to see her before her parents even know she is back!

I have a lingering headache for about a week now. This morning it went to 'ice pick in the temple' level. I'm taking a break from sleeping for Brandon to feed me before he goes to work. I on the other hand will not be making it to work as I've lost part of the vision in my right eye. Prayers appreciated.

I for one cannot wake up today! I have been up off and on all day but everytime I sit down or get still I fall asleep. Fell asleep TWICE on the toilet today. Woke up and had been there for over 30 minutes and my legs were asleep. NOT FUN. I know that's TMI, but that's what is going on today.
Tried to watch my show LOST and woke up twice during it. So I'll have to re watch that episode when I can stay awake.

Headache finally broke around 5:30ish. Did some homework then went to church. Received prayer. I still have a tiny bit of headache, but for the most part it's gone. Thank ya Jesus!

Because I slept so much yesterday with the headaches I had a hard time falling asleep last night. Finally gave up and took a benadryl around 1.
Feel mostly better today. Only have 1 class but so much studying to do. I have a midterm tomorrow in research and then a math test monday.
I don't have a FB anymore. But yes, I wish I could give her like a weeks worth of rest too.
You just passed on the headache lol - I woke up with an awful awful one. It's slowly dissipating though thankfully. After 2 Excedrin and some peppermint on the forehead.

Yeah, I have a few idiots that go political showup on my newsfeed. I found the handy little "Unfollow" button. They can post away and I don't have to see it, and no one gets their feelings hurt because I unfriended them. In fact, I clicked that option on one this morning...
I've been hiding or unfriending folks lately. Sick of political posts and folks selling diet stuff.
