Only a little over two weeks until my distant kiddos get home for a visit.
Man. I can't believe today is the last day of my vacation. :sadbounce: Uncle Ron is heading back Missouri way, and this time didn't find a truck to add to his collection. We did have a nice cookout with Mini and Chellebelle and younguns though, and we are fixing to leave to meet them in Conway, where Lou and Chellebeele are gonna try to bankrupt us with yardsales while Mini and I head fer tha hills and see what's at the mountain on the last day of the car show.....
Just think. Next year Uncle Ron will have double the money for a car.... :ugly:
I wonder if we should annoy Kim today?

Yay!! :) I'm happy for you!
:beret:
I'm so ready to see them. Chel might as well be distant as much as I see her...
Grandma, uncle Fred, uncle Stanley, aunt Diane and aunt Lucy took off early this morning for Texas, where they are collecting some family down there and flying to Seattle to board ship for a cruise. Meanwhile my cousin Debbie and her husband are taking off on a delivery run - he's a trucker. So I'm here at home with the two dogs that Fred and Debbie share. They're nice dogs, rather small, and they don't bark at everything... but they will watch you everywhere you go, everywhere you stand, everywhere you sit, there will be canine eyes constantly on you. Probably because they're afraid you'll drop a crumb and they'll miss it.

Hey y'all, Heather just called me and said that they think her dad had a heart attack while he was at the truck yard. They are taking him by ambulance to the hospital. She is on her way there to be with him.
Prayers for all involved are greatly appreciated. Especially her and her dad.
Thanks.
I'm home and I'll update later.

Morning, all. Back at work. Would appreciate a word of prayer- I have a possible opportunity jobwise that I am praying for guidance on whether or not to apply. There is a Probation/Parole Officer job open in the county adjoining me, and having spoke with some of the people connected with it, I feel confident I would have a shot at the job. Same pay, but with a take home car that would mean about $100 a week savings in gas. It also would be fairly similar hours- 8a to 5p, with some on call.
Thanks!
What I do in such situations (don't laugh!) is apply for it and pray that if it's not right, God will let it fall through. And then try not to get upset if it falls through... which can be tougher than it sounds when they go around you and pick someone else, when YOU should have been the obvious first choice.

In other news...our application for residency was rejected by the apartments were were gonna live in. Apparently my parents overall income is too much to live there.
It's great to be too rich for low income housing and too poor for anything else, all at the same time. :eyeroll:
I guess I'll be Cindermella forever. I was looking forward to my own room that wasn't the laundry room, with a door that closed, and was wider than 4ft. But I guess not. I'll be content with what I have. :smirk2:
Oh. And dads toe (one of the only two he has left) is turning black. They may have to remove it...and he has a blood clot in his leg and needs a 4 hr bypass surgery to maybe save his toe. But the heart dr doesn't think he can live thru a 4 hr surgery. And the rest of his lower leg is becoming red and transparent looking, from the poor circulation. He could possibly lose it if he doesn't have the bypass, but he could die anyway from the surgery itself.

I went to town today with Kim and Chey to get the lawnmower tire fixed. Now I'm back home, and feel kinda blah, really. Not sick, just almost weak and have a headache...

Thank you for the prayers and thank you Mel for posting for me. [and sorry I'm pretty sure I scared the dejeesus out of you on the phone on Monday.]
As of right now I'm homeless. Brandon's mom decided to show up at his house with the boys in tow for a undisclosed amount of time. So out I went. I have no idea what the future currently holds for me and/or me and Brandon. He sat at the dining room table with his mom the whole time I was packing my couple of bags. I'm staying tonight at my parents on an air mattress but I have no idea after tomorrow morning where I'll be.
Ouch... I'd say come stay with us, but (even if it wouldn't look wrong) we're a bit far away. If we'd known sooner we might could have intercepted you on I-40.
Guess the best I can do is offer my prayers.

In other news... have I ever mentioned how glad I am that my whole computer system is installed on a flash drive?
What brings this up? Yesterday, by an act of sheer genius, I totally ruined two of this Thinkpad's three USB ports. I was somewhat upset about that, but this morning when I turned the computer on I was even more upset when it wouldn't get past the Thinkpad start screen. Apparently I ruined a port in such a way that a pin was shorting out against the frame. This short confused the BIOS and it wouldn't boot. (Simple version: Instead of two USB ports being unusable, the whole computer was unusable.) (Color change enabled to help people avoid the nerd/tech junk before the simple version and get right to the point.) :great:
So I took the flash drive out, stuck it in another laptop, rebooted, and was back online. :D
Life is still going on my end.. Hi everyone!
I think the latest sharing thread got deleted with the SPAM.
So this is 484-B?
For some reason I wish I had an icon on my chest that I could double tap and say "Reboot!"
I know, it was an old show. It was a great one though.
How can there be a 484-B when there wasn't a 484-A? The previous one was 484, so this one would be 484-A... if we're following the same naming conventions observed in the Star Trek universe with their Enterprise models. :D
I guess it could be Sharing 484v2.0
Wow. Fuzzy just out-nerded me. I thought I had a lock on it with the Star Trek reference, but she had to go straight to program revision notation.
Wow. Just... just... wow.
Probabkly my bad.. I became dazed at how many threads I nuked that we got hit with Let make do some checking.
Hmm.. I found it. It was after I left for a while. I don't find a set of commands t move a deleted thread back into the main discussion area. Scott has a lot more of the tech command ability than I, I suspect. So, for now, 484-B :)

I am currently back 'home'. There is so much drama going on I would have to open another thread just to post it all. The most important part is that Brandon and I have talked out a lot of issues. We decided as of Thursday night he needs to buy his own car [the one he drives is technically his dads] and then in the next 6 months we need to get our own place. Brandon has already talked it over with his dad since we were living out here to help him out. Mike is ok with our decision and said he's a grown man and can take care of hisself. We do not intend to move out of our city though.
Saturday evening we were over at a friends house to swim and she asked if we knew anyone looking to buy a car :o I mean I shouldn't really be surprised. God listens to even the smallest of things. So in 2 weeks are making the first payment on a 1996 Chevy Lumina. She isn't currently the prettiest car to look at but she runs AWESOME. Also we are only making payments of $100 every 2 weeks until we pay off $500!!
That's great, Heather.

Ahhhhh!
I got 9 gallons of ice cream for a church thing next Sunday. Stored it at a friend's house because the church freezer was down. After dealing with all that ice cream, of course I talked myself into getting a tub of Blue Bell and some bananas for a banana shake... but I couldn't eat it before church because my group was up to sing tonight, and dairy does bad things to my voice. So I was eager to get home after church.
But when I was dropping the bus kids off... two different places, the parents wanted to stop and chat. Grrrr! They NEVER stop to talk. I always drop them off, stay to make sure they can get in the door (twice there was nobody home and the kid was stuck outside... I have to make sure) and move on. Nooooo, on the night I was wanting to get home everyone wants to stop and talk.
But I wasn't rude, finally made it home, got my banana shake and now all is right with the world. :teeth:
Heather, c'mon by and play with her for a while! :)

Did you get picked?
No. Finally got to go about 2 then get back to a mess at work. *sigh
But I was very close to getting picked.
How do you get very close to getting picked?
Because it starts out with like 150 people.
Then they pick a certain amount for the number of juries they need for court.
Then the rest are left in a room in case they need replacements.
That cuts it down to like 40 people.
You have to wait until courts almost done in case they need a new jury.
You haven't ever had jury duty Chel? Lol

My husband and I are going to the "street machine nationals" (his words) this weekend. Supposedly tons of beautiful classic cars.. That will somehow fit in between my mom hopefully being here and the yard sale and him working, haha. Either way.. thought of you two.
Im jealous! That sounds like a lot of horsepower... :ugly:
I'm puzzled. I never see an old computer show, or an old box fan show, or an old air conditioner show. Why are cars different? :P
What we need is an old music show. Lots of great songs are discarded simply because they are old.

VERY jealous.... but I DO get to see Taco and RainbowJingles, so I won't be too upset.... I just wished more of the folks here could make it over....Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and sunday.....we gonna have a good time, and hopefully see God move. :clap2:

They changed the lyrics of "Walk Like a Egyptian" to say: If you want to find all the cops, they are hanging out in the donut shop, they sing and dance (oh whey oh) spin their clubs, cruise down the block...LOL

I just heard a guy sneeze. Instead of a typical "A-choo!" he sneezed a powerful "Pa-ching!" and followed it by saying "walla walla bing bang!"
Was it one of the pilots?
At least he didn't do what I just did. I'm tooling along torwards home, listening to one of my favorite songs- and you should know that I 1) love music 2) sing quite poorly and 3) sing loudly when I'm alone.
Any way, the song "When God Unfolds The Rose" is playing, and it's a song that makes me squall, and sing along to, although its notes are so far out of the "bad" range for me that they are in the "My God where;s the torture device" range....
Yes. I am bellering it at the top of my lungs. Yes. I had managed to inadverdantly key the mic on my ham radio without knowing it. Yes, I broadcast my shameful performance across the state of Arkansas on its most powerful repeater, which has around 100 miles any direction from Little Rock coverage.
When I noticed it, I unkeyed and heard.." Whoever that was PLLLLEEEAAASE don't quit your day job. That was painful." Oooops.
:sing: "When God unfolds the rooooose..." :sing:

You should have responded "I'm a police officer and you better stay well below the speed limit for quite some time."
Bol! I was on the phone when I read that... So I had to share what I was dying of laughter about! Hahahaha!
I saw Okies FB status before I read it, so Im over here humming the song then I read that. BOL! Nice timing! ;)

By the way Roscoe, was that Timothy Spell you were listening to singing it?
In local news, I hit an armadillo on the way home. Their instincts are just no good on the open road. A squirrel has a chance with wild scrambling, but curling up and sitting there won't cut it. The first impact made a loud thump, but it was the second sound that worried me. Sounded like someone hit the undercarriage of my van with a sledgehammer.
Oh well. If anything was damaged seriously I guess I can ride my bike to work Thursday and Friday.

No sir, it was Terry ? Terrell.....I think I like his version better than anyone's including my own.. :laughhard:
And I wouldn't worry about the Possum-on-the-half-shell....I hit one in my 'vette and didn't have any issues. About the only thing that could be damaged would be an oil pan or transmisson pan, and you'd see a huge puddle if that had happened. It's be rare anyway, those creatures are not particularly solid and probably just made a mess....
Ah good. He sings it straight, without any vocal showing off.

While I normally forget to check in here more than once a month.... I had to come back today to re-read the posting by Roscoe and get my laugh for the morning. :laughhard:
And if anyone cares... Mini and I are thinking about hosting him to sing at the local ODD Fellows Home in the town we go to church in. ..... :hypocrite:
Roscoe: You were right. I drove up here to the church to vacuum and drove the same road (I work right across the street from my church) and the little dude was in fragments. It looked like he got thrown across three lanes and landed against the other side of the road, coming apart en route.
Well, so much for breakfast... :-\

And I'v managed to get the churchyard mowed...lord, it was hot and I nearly overheated. Just got a welcome phone call- my neice (Tyannawho was raised as my sister called. Last night, her 9 year old son and 15 year old daughter went to church with me, kinda because Mom said they had to. Ty called and informed me the two were begging her to let them go tonight. In addition, the 15 year old, who has been attending church with her grandmother at a denominal church, told her mom that 1) I want some long flowing skirts like Aunt Lou and the other ladies wear, and 2) she thinks she wants to go to church with us all the time. :o
Being one to press the point, I immediately told Ty she needed to come too...she is planning on it tomorrow night. Revival. It's here. My family. I WILL see this! I am so excited. :clap2: :clap2:
"It's so hot, my!" said old Ms. DeVry, "You could fry an egg on the sidewalk!"
"It's so hot, whew!" said Mr. Scotty Pugh, "You could fry an egg on the sidewalk!"
But I know that's just talk. It didn't cook at all.
Although... the fried cheesecake was good. Maybe that's why our order took so long. Maybe that's how they fried it.
Speaking of which... I would like to state for the record that neither Roscoe nor Taco have any tolerance at all for heat. I would'a thought an Arkansas farmboy and a Virginia farmboy would have been able to take it better - it wasn't even over 100. But no, it was the Tennessee hillbilly who was still raring to go when they were ready to pack it in.

Speaking of whom... it was almost creepy how much Bobby and my uncle Fred are alike.
They both like motorcycles
They both play bass guitar
They both have a habit of lying in a recliner with a little yappy dog in their laps
They both have a history of working in law enforcement
They both are the triple S structure - Short, Stocky, Strong
They both have a wicked sense of humor
They both have a single child, female, who is a Daddy's girl (and they both are no good at saying no to said Daddy's girl...)
They both can tell you which mechanic/bank/dentist/whatever is absolutely trustworthy
They both know where to go for some pretty good food
If only Bobby had said "10-4" every now and then, I'd have probably started mistaking him for my uncle.

Why DO we call Roscoe, Roscoe? I've wondered that myself.
It's 106 degrees in the shade today. I am completely miserable. And so is Arabella. Apparently she takes heat about as well as her mommy does. :(

Roscoe, the bumbling, dim witted deputy from the Dukes of Hazzard. Mom never would let us watch that show, said it gave people a bad opinion of police.

Wowsers! Have you ever had it hit that there before? It usually doesn't tip past a hundred here until August. Poor sweet gals. :( Sweaty babies have it rough cause they are always against something.
There was a free John P Kee concert here tonight at a local other church but Nathan worked late so we missed it. I'm glad money is irrelevant in heaven. I won't miss it one bit.
I can't remember if I watched Dukes of Hazard as a kid. I always picture the Sheriff off of Smokey and the Bandit. Also funny. His deputy us always messing things up for him. And there was an awful lot of unrestrained police corruption in the 70's so that influenced the era.

It's not generally this hot here, no. But we generally get 1 to 2 weeks of summer that I would happily skip entirely. Arabella has been the most fussy she's ever been, and just wants to be held constantly. Which of course makes it that much worse for both of us. :-\ But it's that, or listen to screaming. Ah...the sheltered childhood of homescooled preachers kids. Missin' out on the classic tv reruns we all enjoyed in the 80's.
And im displaced today......that lasted almost 2 weeks. Hopefully mom will let me atay at her house tonight. I shouda known she would show up. Its the first of the month afterall...........
I had an interesting dream last night. I was aware it was a dream, so I started changing things by imagining different stuff. It was fun!
Speaking of fun, I'm about to pack up and head out for children's day camp at church, then I'm gonna hit the trail for east TN.
Lord, today has been one of those days.
Somebody hide me.
:thumbsup2: Good job, John.
Sure has been quiet on the forum today. Maybe it's time to stir up a little trouble...
East Tenn is the best part!
I have the best parents.

Fittin to go to bed.

It's a beautiful cool morning here and my babies will be here Saturday.
By the way, I forgot to mention... All thrift stores, pawn shops, Goodwills, etc. should have a sign posted above their CD case - "Lou was here." I made the rounds looking for music, but pickings was mighty slim. I was wondering why I couldn't find much christian music, but then Sis. Lou mentioned that she liked to keep an eye on thrift stores for music.

Nothing yet. He's working like crazy at carpentry/construction jobs that he can get. Which isn't consistant.
Thanks for asking. God knows and He's still good.
I saw a guy at Walmart selling brown and green eggs in the parking lot.
The lady I buy eggs from has some green ones. Some hens really do lay green eggs. Don't tell Dr. Seuss that though...
I do not like green eggs, Isaac and Mel,
I do not like them at all,
Neither with a CD, a jpeg nor an MP3
I do not like green eggs at all, Isaac and Mel you see
But Newsman, only the shell is green
There's really no need to make such a scene
The yolk is still as yellow as can be
Just try them once and you will see
:hi:
I need help. In many ways.
*kicks cheese in the pants* there's some help buddy!
I was informed at 510 this evening that I'm working kennels tomorrow so pick a shift. And by informed I mean bullied. By my own boss. He didn't care when I told him I already had plans the entire day. What was more important is the fact his step-daughters who were scheduled the whole day for kennels decided today they didn't want to work their shift because they wanted to go watch fireworks instead. I need a new job. I've almost walked out every day this week....
:pound:
Must get out of bed and go to gym........
Ugh....I'm at work. Fortunantly, it is just a brief event. I had to make myself get up and go to work, but I drove Rusty, so just a few miles into the drive, I was in a great mood. 'course it helped to have my favorite cd in and yes, I was bellering loudly :sing:- after making sure the radio was OFF. :biglaugh:
Then I get to work and find the wierdest sight I have seen in a while. A group from some kinda "Yaweh's Church of the Anointed and Holy Gaurdians of Truth"....All wearing robes and wierd hats of Gold, and blowing shofers.. :o Btw, that is a really weird sound if you're not expecting it. They had a platform built on TOP of their van out of old wooden pallets...Apparently they had some kinda prayer event this morning that was not scheduled....
Obviously it was scheduled, they just forgot to tell y'all about it.
And which CD is your favorite? How do you narrow it down to one?
In local news, I was going through some CDs from a friend and... you never know what you'll find in a stack of random CDs. :o
I like the should of the shofar. We had a lady who came to 'play' it when we did Godspell a few years back. Plus a church i used to go to had a lady who blew one juat about every service (now that was a bit odd too....)
Workout is done. Now to shower and head to a cookout before i have to go into work. I figure the money ill make is going into my 'go see Mel' fund.

According to the new movie's commercial, that symbol is not an "S." It stands for "hope." So... what are you saying about her? ;)
So after they kicked me out of I left Arkansas, I spent about a day and a half at home mowing the yard and helping with the church kids' day camp, then I came up to East TN to visit family. And it promptly started raining. And raining and raining and raining... If I didn't have stacks of CDs to process I'd be bored. But even with the CDs, I'd still rather be back in Arkansas. Or I'd like the folks who were in Arkansas to reconvene here, either way - if y'all were all here we'd have fun regardless of weather.
If it would stop raining I'd go hike up Margeurite Falls trail. But all the weather services are predicting rain from here to the foreseeable future. Feh.
Yep its monsoon season apparently here. How long are you up this way? After today i have the next 3 days off.
Work shouldnt be too bad today. Most of the people who make me want to stab my eyes out are off work.
We were supposed to get rained out last night, but it was cloudy, and right before the show started it cleared up beautifully.
I really enjoyed igniting explosives. :freaky2:
I totally overslept today. Was supposed to take Dad and Allen* to breakfast at 6:30, and Mom came in here and woke me up at 7:03 and said Allen was waiting on me to take him to work. :o
I jumped up and got ready in 5 mins and he was nearly late.
(*Allen is my Aunts nephew who lives with them and moved here recently from AZ. He is ANNOYING. I dont care for him much. We are not really friends. I tolerate him mostly...but this week, Pastor and Sis Ramsey are out of town at LA campmeeting, so I have been babysitting him cause he doesnt have a license. So he has to be chauffeured everywhere, and kept out of trouble, and monitored. {THAT has been a job let me tell ya! There has been DRAMA all week that he wouldnt dare do if they were home...its all gonna hit the fan this evening though...I know that for FACT} :smirk2: He is 29 years old, but acts 13. A thorn in my side...but Im sure that this is Gods way of teaching me something. *sigh*)

It's been a busy day.
I am home! After a lot of traveling around I have popped back into my lair and I'm staying here.
Actually my bank account tells me I shouldn't do any more traveling for awhile... but it was fun.
And Bobby, I think your AR sun is more harsh than our TN sun. I drove three hours in AR and got somewhat sunburned - even the left side of my face got a bit burned, I think from the reflected sun off the pavement. I drove a good nine hours in TN today and didn't get burned at all.
My day got better. I went and ran on the treadmill. Plus i get to go to MY church tomorrow so thats awesome.
I got like 34 hugs from a little guy named donavyn today... :hyper:

Ooooh, fulltime! :hyper:
Ask Brandon to be praying too. Nothing like a cause to get a guy to pray. ;)
:hi:
We had a forevermore powerful service last night.
A older pastor, retired, sits at the back of the church next to the sound booth. He doesn't stand much in church due to age, but is keenly aware of everything that's going on. Last night, worship service didn't want to stop. It was going. Pastor got up to preach, and there was a spirit of worship in the house. This brother stood, looked back at me (I was in the sound booth), and motioned for me to help him up to the front of the church.
Friends, he was walking in the spirit. Woodoggy....
God had nudged him to go pray for a precious lady in our church. She just finished week 5 of chemo, and has only missed 1 service. Shes a trooper. Yesterday she was down, but there. This brother signaled to the pastor to go pray with him, and drug me along. I felt like I was in the blast zone of a red hot revival/healing outbreak.
Church went absolutely nuts. I turned around and the altars were full, people were praying, weeping, worshiping.
Im in awe of God right now.
That is awesome!
Mini: Love it when that happens. :D
Everyone else: Howdy y'all.
In local news: During my week off I reverted to my default morning-person nature. (Ask Bobby about that...) Over the weekend I was trying to resynchronize to second shift hours, lest I be no good at work tonight. I succeeded, but at a price - I dreamed like one of Seth's nutboxes last night.

Repost in the correct thread... :
Well. I'm fixing to take dad to Ocean Springs hospital. (about 20 miles away) His surgeon is there today, so he agreed to cut off his toe this evening after all his other surgeries. This is good and bad, good cause dad will get some relief, bad that it's in OS and we will have to drive over. In fact, after I take dad today, and come home, we won't be able to go back over and see him till after Wednesday cause there isn't ANY money for gas. So he will be alone unless mom borrows some money from somewhere. So I'm kinda worried about that too.
But God knows.
That's fantastic, mini. Him being our portion is more than we could deserve or imagine.
I'm sorry Mel. I wish there were an easy solution that you could just do but I bet the lessons and faith you're getting are immeasurable.
Andrew turned 15 on Saturday. This boy is now 6'1" and growing. He got no "pinch to grow an inch" this year as he's in need of pants at the moment. Lol
He got a BB rifle and we went out and fished after hitting Red Lobster for inspiration. I think we can never afford to go there ever again! My Word. Lol.
I was wearing leggings under my skirt when fishing to ward off bugs. They went mid shin. But I managed to get the worst ever chigger attack in my life. After traipsing through tall grass and finding good fishing spots through the brush around the water I got a horrid mess of them from the knees up. I'm pretty sure it's cause we got home and while my skirt went in the wash I was still in the leggings till midnight, not thinking anything of it. I needed to stay up and change over the laundry for church. Boy, I woke up Sunday morning with my legs on fire from the itchiness! It took me a day to be sure what it really was. Last night I could not sleep I itched so bad. I was googling what it could be. That is pretty much never helpful as it kind of freaked me out worse at first!!
I broke down and took some Benadryl. :Gasp: Coconut oil really stops the itching for awhile but well, this is intense. I probably have a hundred bites on each thigh. This morning my head feels like a bowling ball. Not taking meds makes me more sensitive to it. A pot of coffee will help I hope.
I'm reading a life changing book called "The Blessing" that is cleaning my clock. Powerful stuff.
Next time take brewer's yeast before such an excursion. My momma made us kids take it and it worked so well that I have recently resumed taking it.
They have it in pill form, but I read where it's not as effective.
Oh man I love Red Lobster. Yum!
It's been busy round here.
Weekend before last I got to see great friends. (Even if I did torture a few of them with my preaching.) lol
This last weekend I got to see my nephew. I was accused of spoiling him. I resemble those accusations.
Shew.
Mini - love the story. :)
Isaac - brewer's yeast? Cool! I didn't know that trick.
Mel - I'm both sorry and glad.
My sharing.... typing with one hand stinks. ;)
:beret:
Just be sure to get the kind that was grown on sugar beets. The other kind tastes so nasty, it takes a literal act of will to swallow it. Try going to amazon.com and looking for Lewis brewers yeast. That's one kind I know does not taste nasty and still works.
^^^ Yeah that.
I slept till after 9 today!! WHOOT! I never do that anymore!
Now to get a shower, run a few errands, fix lunch, pack a dinner and head to the hospital. Dad is doing tests and Dialysis today so we are not expected to the hospital till the afternoon.
"Nobody ever lies on his death bed wishing he had spent more time at the office."
I've heard the saying all my life, but I've never figured out one thing... when people are lying on their deathbed, what DO they wish they had spent more time doing? Seems to me it would be more profitable to figure that out, then spend more time doing it.
I'll ask you folks... If you were lying on your deathbed, what would you wish you had spent more time doing?

More time seeking God's face. More time trying to live a life for Him instead of one for me. More time reaching out for my lost loved ones. More time telling friends and family how much I truely love them. More time to tell someone how good God has been to me. And more time in Rusty, driving down a backroad with my wife and baby girl, listening to Godly music and enjoying the sights and sounds of the wonderful country I have been blessed with. In short- more time doing what I try to do daily.
Had a blowout tonight, and I dont mean the church kind.
Im thankful it was not any worse than it was. it really could have been bad but God allowed all the traffic to seem to go away right before it happened, and allowed me to remain calm and maintain control of the truck across three lanes into a safe well lit parking area. And then we called Allan (the guy who ANNOYS ME) and he came and changed it for us.
All in all it was a good learning experience and it could have totally been worse.
:o Glad y'all are okay.

What a waste.....Morning, all. Back at work. In between work, I have to finish something up for tonight, then I'm nearly to the weekend. Oh, and thanking God for small miracles- Last night our hot water heater quit. I mean, it worked less than Mini does :P....I immediatly began stressing, and worrying, as is my custom. I then stopped and did what I shoulda done in the first place- I put it in God's hands. Told Him He knew we really couldn't afford this and that I needed it fixed. This morning, I woke up thinking and praying about my message tonight when the thought of a "reset" button on the water heater came to me. I went and took the cover off, and sure enough there was a reset button/breaker that had been tripped. I pressed it, and thirty minutes later, the water was nearly hot enough to make coffee with straingt from the faucet.

What they said.
Picked cucumbers out of the garden this evening. They were AWESOME. We are definitely having a garden next year!
The kids bought Nathan some "catfish bait" awhile back. Stinkiest stuff EVER. :puke: I do not recommend it.
Ruby, we watched 2 cool documentaries recently that maybe your boys may like?
Happy People: about a Siberian village that is only accessible by helicopter or river 3 months out of the year. They live entirely off the land. It shows one full year's routine.
Jungle Eagle: the Harpy Eagle, most dangerous and elusive eagle known. Venezuela.
I also watched Farmeggedon but that was my genre.
Was it punch bait? My uncle is a semi professional fisherman and he says that punch bait is the stinkiest stuff you have ever smelled.
Hello.
Hey, John. How's it going? Did you ever slow down and rest a bit?
Morning, all. :hi:
Cucumbers from the garden for lunch. Delicious.
Slowing down and resting can be good. Especially after a dusty morning of mowing. I hate, I absolutely HATE when the ground is dry and I have to mow. My sinuses hate it too.

...discovered that my forgetfulness has cost me $26 at the library...
That is SOME forgetfulness!
Yeah...a couple weeks before the car show, Chey and I did our usual Daddy and Chey day, which includes going to the library...She got two kids' movies, which have a one week loan period. I was busy getting things ready for company and the car show, then car show time, then Elona and Jason and the kids revival, then the fourth holiday- I didn't get 'em returned in a timely manner. The videos are what cost the whey outta me..... :pound:

What are you saying? They went straight and ran smoothly for a full extended weekend. Of course that was because we were there... :D
They didn't. They just prolonged the inevitable crash. Might I remind you that my computer's charging cord gacked on me while you were present? And the Corvette was still refusing to run while you were here....I just didn't throw my usual fit -and hammers, ect- because I was trying to be a good guy around you'ns.. :hypocrite:
And speaking of the charging cord- the new one I got in had dismayed me. It works well, but creates tons of "hash noise"....electrical interference on my ham radio. Therefore I have to charge the computer, use it, then basically quit hamming until it's recharged. Gonna have to find me some ferrite beads for the cables... :pound:
Could the noise be coming from the internal sound card? It is possible a simple outboard (USB) sound card could solve the problem. They are cheap and you don't need to know a thing about computers to use them - just plug one in and the computer will recognize and use it.
Easy to test, all you need is a speaker or headphones and run a sound input through an audio program.
Please disregard the previous post. Whether it's electrical carry-over to the sound card or interference with the ham radio frequencies themselves, stopping the interference from the charger cable would solve it. I have a nerd reflex to find work-arounds. Just ignore me. :)

Oh yeah, about that library fine.... did you try renewing them before you took them back? Sometimes we can fake out our library system by doing that. :hypocrite: As long as there isn't a hold on the item. Also, if your library is like ours, you should use CHEY'S card to check things out - not yours - because (at least here) there is bigger grace period for kids than adults. And sometimes no fines at all. Even if it's ridiculously late.

A major GP wedding took place today. Rae & Ant tied the knot....Nikjoy and Elfin were there.....
Oh the good old days.
Who and who? All those people must have been before my time.
Way before your time.
Ahhh Memories.
Im alive. Dad is alive and doing well. Church tomorrow. Bought some home grown tomatoes that are delicious, and a watermelon that isnt what I expected. had to dig most of the middle portion out cause it was grainy and mushy. BLECH. But got a flat of strawberries and some corn for free. The strawberries were almost bad, so I washed and sliced a whole gallon bag worth and now they are froze.
My brother John was here and his wife. We have not seen them in over a year, and they stayed two days. That was nice.
Church and staff meeting tomorrow. And Ive already prepped sketti sauce for the crock pot while we are at church.
My update. That is all.

Awwwwww!!! That is so awesome! Rae, Nicole, and Renee were really awesome on here. Miss them.
Yay for overtime! My traveling rather overextended my budget (gas is expensive these days!) so I was very glad to hear we were working Saturday this week. Here's hoping we're so busy we have to work Saturday next week too. :D
Now I'm gonna fall over and get some sleep before church tomorrow... er, later today I guess it is now.
:sob: I'm back at work. So did not want my weekend to go by so fast.... but it did. :pound: And now I'm dreading Wednesday. Lou and Chey will be gone to Tulsa all weekend. I don't know how I will survive without them home, I'll be a nervous wreck. :smirk2:
So...you will be a nervous wreck because they are gone, or because she is gone with your money and a plethora of thrift stores around?
Did someone say thrift stores?
:D :D :D :D
Just be glad you don't have a McKay's over there. You'd never see Sis. Lou again.

No worries about the money- I ain't got any anyhow. :smirk2: I just tend to worry myself to death, imagining the worst, unless they are right with me. Stupid. One of my battles. I'll be a basketcase by the time they get home.
What does "the worst" entail? Wreck on the freeway? Being mugged?
You could install Skype on Sis. Lou's smart phone and she could give you a 24-hour-a-day, real time video feed of everything they're doing.
Something I found interesting in the Yahoo news lists.

Not a single word about my kind of shoes though. I wanted to know what some anonymous fashion-psychologist says about ME! :/
Im gonna have to double up on heartburn meds tonight I fear. I had pizza for lunch, a small bowl of my amazing sketti for a snack, and just had a large bowl of it for dinner just now.
Plus Ill be awake all night anyway, cause I we had a long staff meeting this afternoon, I came home, laid down and was intending to get up in about an hour....four hours later I woke up. 8PM! what? I slept till almost bedtime again!
:frustrated:
And of course, any other day my parents would have woken me up for no reason, today, no one said a word to me at all.
I'll be up all night too but that's because I just ate a bowl of really good chocolate pudding but it was worth it because it was delicious but now I'm hyper can you imagine me hyper well I am and I don't think I'll get to sleep until at least 2am but it was really good did I mention it was chocolate? Well it was. :hyper:
Wow. A cat on speed.
Back from church. Going to sleep.
Not a cat on speed a cat on chocolate actually I gave my cat some chocolate it didn't seem to affect her but I didn't give her much but I guess for her body weight it was comparatively a lot but she didn't seem hyper afterward maybe it doesn't work on cats...

Nope. I tried my hand at Asian Cuisine a few times.
HUGE FLOP.
I can make most any baked goods that Ive tried, I can do good ole Southern cookin, I can do casseroles, one dish things, tons of crock pot stuff, and good ole American things...but I leave the Chinese food to the Chinese. We go out. I just cant do it. It never turns out the way its supposed to.
A lot of Asian food is fresh and slightly cooked. The opposite of southern cooking...lol

I just hate folks soliciting. If I want something, I'm going to be the one seeking it.
Another thing that rubbed me the wrong way was, we had Verizon for our land line. In the bill they would send a flyer trying to get us to use their internet and it was even available for us. You'd think they'd check that out before they offered it to us. :smirk2:
I will give the gal that came to my door credit.... she wasn't pushy. She just let me know what they had to offer and gave me a flier if I wanted more info.

Hi, Tia! :hi:
:beret:
Fuzzy: we have CenturyTel (Century Link) phone service, local line only. I got kind of tired of them using the line WE were paying for to give us advertisements about their tv and Internet service, so the last time the guy called to advertise, I told him very bluntly that we have AT&T for long distance phone service, we don't need TV service, I have something else for Internet service, the only reason we were keeping the local landline was because everybody knows the number to call us and if they kept calling trying to advertise we would cut out our local phone line altogether. Did I mention that was the last time they called? :-D

I have 4 huge pork butts in the electric roasting pans in the fellowship hall. I rubbed them down with some pork rub, let them sit two hours, make some broth to put in, then covered them tightly with foil, placed the lid, turned on 200 degrees, and they will slow cook all night.
After I drop dad off, I have to check on them, possibly take them out, and let them cool for shredding. They already smelled delicious, and they just started!
