I was at the hosp till 10:30 last night. Then was on the phone for an hour with a few people trying to get them together to get us rooms for NAYC. This and that and the other. Then I still had to go to WM. I got home about midnight, and then after a brief nap, I got up and took dad to dialysis, and spent the rest of the morning with Ann at the hospital again. She FINALLY, after four days, is well enough to go to a regular room, so we got her all moved today. So then I went and picked up dad, came home, cleaned the kitchen, and layed out stuff for supper.
Now I'm gonna take the trash all out, and pack a bag cause after supper I'm going BACK to the hospital to help Ann with a shower and wash her hair, and stay the night.
Busy day tomorrow too.
Mel forgot the important part about how now BOTH of us are going to NAYC and how a meetup WILL happen :cool:
Work is going ok. Get to leave early because my car is already going to looked at. Honestly its just a dent anf my bumper is more crooked. They could cut me a check and ill use the money toward NAYC :)

My friend Ann is back in ICU. We almost lost her, again. She was put in a regular room on Tuesday morning, and I spent the night with her Tuesday night. That was horrible. That's when she got so bad again and was critical. They moved her back to the unit yesterday morning. She was really bad still all day. We had prayer last night, and something happened. She said she even felt it alone in her room. When I went up there last night, there was a visible change for the better! God is merciful.
I'm at dialysis with dad now, waiting for them to let him in, then its BACK to the hosp.
I. Am. Exhausted. But it's ok. Sleep and rest is for the weak. Haha.
Now she's on a vent.
But it's the first time in days she has been able to breathe and sleep. This may be what she needs for awhile.
I'm back at home currently, fixing to take mom and her dog to the groomers for matching haircuts.

And the Capitol has no wifi thanks to our inept group of idiots in I.T., so I'm bored stiff. Add to that my annoyance at having my plans changed this weekend, and an event I've got to go to I really wasn't crazy about and an event I WANTED to go to that I can't....well, it's probably good that I haven't had internet. Actually if I were in I.T. there I'd argue against wifi as well. Security passwords or no, wifi is hackable. And with the matters at stake in a state capitol's computer network... well, it's better not to risk it. Someone WOULD hack it.

I'm finally back home from my dogsitting duties at my parents. Very impressed with how Brandon kept the house upkeep. I usually come home to an atrocious mess.
My small dent in my fender and the more crooked bumper is gonna cost Nationwide close to 1200 to fix. They are gonna replace the fender, bumper, and brackets. My fog light on that side fell off the other day too. Drop my car off Monday morning and they are giving me a rental for a few days.

They have separate systems... the official "work/business" is conducted through a traditionally wired system. The wifi system is the free public wifi for the general public. This is what I log into and browse the web during slow times watching the entryways. And with session over there is alot of slow times.....And I am NOT complaining.
They finally got the wifi back up and running around lunch time..

Well, I'm off school today, and was gonna go by Roscoe's last night to get the lawnmower so I could spend the day getting this jungle knocked down, but he told me it was gonna rain really hard today. So I opted out on stopping to get it. Well, I woke up to sunshine---and now my husband has my truck at work, so going to get it now is out of the question. :o Guess I'll learn to follow my own instincts. :P
And don't trust a short weatherman...heat always the last to know its raining.
Im currently proccessing cat xrays. Its a wonderfully peaceful day at work. No step-brat or evil Heather (step-brats cousin who also makes life here terrible.) I have another dogsitting job tonight. Thinking of going to the town yard sale in Damascus tomorrow morning. Really dependant upon weather though. Its supposed to be a stormy weekend here.

May must be the the month for me to go to the Hosp every day. Last year, I was there every day cause they cut dads leg off. This year it's Ann...she will likely be in there for another couple weeks, even after they take her off the ventilator. She is doing a bit better. I'm headed to drop dad off and go up and see her now.
Wonder who will be staying in the hospital next year in May that I will visit every day.
Well. As a weatherman, I'm a good nurse apparently. :lol: I missed that call. Oh well. I got up yesterday to take Chey to school intending on staying around the house. However, SOMEONE texted me about Corvettes, and a trackday that was the event I spoke of wanting to go to ( and had planned to go to for weeks). I fired up the 'vette, which promptly threw a fit and locked up the smogpump. :sadbounce: Shoulda been a clue....
Rusty had a full tank of gas, I had a complete day....and surely I could get back by 5:30 pm to go to the men's meeting that I really didn't want to go to...
Well, I made it to the raceway. Had a ball looking at the Corvettes, met Germ's friend and had an exhilirating ride in a very much nonestock 'vette, and even was offered the chance to drive it, which I turned down- I could see me wrecking or breaking it. Absolutely great time.
BUT- God ate my lunch. It became apparent to me about three hours in that I had grossly underestimated the time the trip would take. There was no way I was gonna get back for mens meeting. Since I had really not wanted to go to the meeting but wasgoing for other reasons, I felt bad convicted that I had put cars and my desires over spending time with God.
It whupped my hide. :sad:
And Rusty decided he didn't like cruising at 75 for three hours and let me know by letting his transmisson make weird noises. I'm thinking it has a bearing going out. Long story short, I sweated bullets over Rusty, fumed in traffic, and got home around 9 pm.
I'm sorry I was less sociable than normal with Germ, Rusty and God had me preoccupied. I cried half the way home...
All that aside, I enjoyed the race time and the brief time I got to spend with my brother. Next year I'm praying that a meeting is not scheduled on the same date as the rally/trackday, and I WILL have my 'vette running. Hopefully.

Are coloring books and crayons a good present for a 3 year old? I've been invited to a little girl from church's 3rd birthday party today and it's actually out in my neck of the woods. I know she likes Hello Kitty so I bought her a sweet Hello Kitty cup with a lid and straw on it. I went with coloring books and crayons because that girl draws on EVERYTHING that is paper. I hope it doesn't seem silly.....
So... I get up this morning and go get my mama a dozen red roses for Mother's Day. It is always so hard to go see her in that nursing home. She has been there for quite a few years now, but I can never go see her without crying. I try really hard, but it nver works. Anyway, I'm standing by her bed, wondering what she is thinking and hating the fact that she can't talk to me, and crying, of course, and I look over and see a Bible on the little dresser. It is opened up, and I just venture over there and read the first passage my eyes fall on. Philippians 4:11. "Not that I speak in respect of want: For I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content." Now that may not mean much to some people, but when I read it, it gave me a little peace of mind and made me think that God was telling me that she is at least content if nothing else. She is a very special mama, and I know one day, she will be the most beautiful angel in Heaven.

It's been an interesting day. Was rushing to get out the door in time to get to church in time for prayer and a friend started texting me asking if it was ok to come to church with me. I've never really talked alot about church and I'm generally just an 'invite them and say come any time' type of person. So she came today. Had never been to a pentecostal church but enjoyed it and said she'd be back. Also a lady who started out in church around the same time as me 12 years ago showed up today. She's been out of church for 8ish years. She was my go to party friend when I was going through my divorce and even threw me a party. She's had a really hard time with drugs, alcohol, and girlfriends [yes you read that right] since getting out of church. It was great to see her in the altar today. I just pray for some good to take root in her life. If you'll remember Tonya Towers in your prayers I'd greatly appreciate it.
My mom had to work so we went to see Brandon's mom. His sister Miranda was there and started giving me a really hard time once she acknowledged my existence. It was odd to watch Brandon, his dad, and his mom all stick up for me. I'm not so much surprised by him or his dad. But me and his mom has not had the best of experiences together but we are making an effort.

I got a text message from the collision shop working on my SUV. They send you pictures of progress on your car. It's quite neat. Poor Gretchen [as I named her a couple years ago] is defaced. Literally. No front bumper, grill, lights, nothing.

Glad she's off the vent. I'm a bit paranoid about those, since when Daddy was put on one he never came off of it. Lord, I miss that man.

I thought I posted this morning.
I am wore out today. Been a long and busy 6 days.
I'm still here, I just haven't had anything interesting to say.
But I'll tell ya I made a naturally sugar free cherry pie for a friend this weekend and it was a major hit. In so much that my friend actually just barely missed me coming while she was going and though I thought I ha the pie set aside, it got dug into and people were mmm'ing when I came in. By then it was too late to save the pie so everyone had some.
If anyone's curious, it was easy. I had gotten canned cherries just in water from Walmart. I puréed one can with some dates (dates taste like brown sugar). I added a pinch of cinnamon and some chia seeds and corn starch for thickener. I drained the other two cans and mixed it all together, put it in he pie shell that had almond extract in it and baked. I did put some streusel on top instead if an entire top crust. Streusel is: ground up almonds, dash of flour, butter, coconut oil, ground dates, pinch of salt. I stir in some oats at the end and pour it over the pie.
As far as I know, it's a healthy diabetic alternative.
Other than that. The weather is gorgeous, we've been busy and I think my neighbor is a meth lab so I'm not happy about that and will get to the bottom of it. I don't know what meth smells like but 2-3x a week our basement/laundry room absolutely wreaks of sour chemically smell and its nauseating. It is he most offensive smell I've ever smelled. But it dissipates in less than 2hrs so I have been just opening all the windows and turning fans on and what not. If it smelled all the time or this bad I would have acted sooner but it's like it intensified with the warm weather.

That sounds so much like me, it's creepy. When chat is slow and someone in the christian chatroom complains about "This place is boooooring!" I make the observation that since they are part of the chatroom, and they are contributing nothing except remarking that it is boring, they are in fact boring.

Okay...everyone that knows me knows I am scared to death of needles. Screaming, crying, hysterical little girl scared. Today they are having a blood drive. I was talking with the one officer I know is as bad as I am with this fear, and popped off," I'll donate if you will." And the little turd did.
So I went to the donation station and attempted. The tech couldn't find my veins for the first thirty minutes, then succeeded- he thought. After about half a unit had been collected, my body shut it off. Nothing they did would get it flowing again. When they pulled the needle, my blood had already clotted. So I went through that pain and torture for nothing, AND I feel like c.rap. Never again. :pound:

Andrew is going to his first big youth shindig besides camp, that being NAYC. We may or may not go but he is definitely going.
School is out for Andrew in 2wks and he will be in summer school PE to get a head start on his highschool credits. At least that is what I easily convinced him of. Who wouldn't choose a smaller class on summer mornings for 6wks compared to a whole school year of it with a big class? I figure they'll do more out doors things and it'll be early enough to not scorching hot out. Also, with him joining ROTC, I want him to have a decent start instead of a lazy summer.
Oh and he's half an inch from 6'. We are going to celebrate somehow when he hits 6 foot because he's desperately reaching for that threshold. Lol. And really... Why not? He only hits it once.
I come home from work at midnight to learn the pastor's been trying to contact me to ask if I can cover the nursing home service at 10am tomorrow. Well... I can be there, but dunno how much good it will do. Now I'm starting to wish I was one of those ministers who has a lot of instant sermons downloaded from the internet to use at a moment's notice...

At that point it was a Definate no, Mel. But last Wednesday morning God told me Andrew needed to go. I didn't know the info about it or if our youth were going. I asked our youth leader and it was two days to the cut off for the cheapest registration. They had sent home a letter which Nathan forgot to read or do anything with. They sent out an email which Nathan didn't notice, he's got a lot on his plate right now. And Andrew didn't say anything bc he assumed we couldn't afford it with Nathan's job craziness. But The Lord told me it was time and to send him to this.
Idk that we'll be able to afford it for us other 3. But If we can you will NOT be able to NOT meet me. I will do whatever it takes to find you!

Nathan is currently on the rotation for a summer Boy Scouts unit during midweek service with the kids. He is in the adult Sunday school class rotation, he is in the midweek teaching rotation, were over our world missions focus, he's a praise singer- this month only on Sundays, he is working a side job after work every non church day so he's getting home around 10pm each night.
Things are a bit strained. We desperately need another vehicle. The job he's had for 2 yrs laid everyone off and then after a week, brought them back for just 1 more month. That lack of $700 out of our budget really took a toll. Nathan still has had NO job leads though he has put tons of time and energy into his résumé and apps.
But let me tell you that my Jesus is a provider and I'm still chubby so we're not suffering! Lol God knows and He cares. This life is but a vapor and it is irrelevant how wealthy we are in this life, only how stewardly we were which reflects our hearts and reverence for Him. The character growth we allowed in this life and intimacy with Jesus. The rest is just opportunity to develope better fruit.

Well I called my landlord when I realized that smell was about again. It took him 10 min. for him to get there. By then the smell had dissipated most of the way. I think because i was sitting upstairs by a window cause its gorgeous out, I didn't notice it soon enough. I checked my laundry room and yeah, it reeked or however you spell that word. But aftef me going in and Nathan going in, it kind if aired it out.
My landlord said he's a bit stuffed up and couldn't really smell it.
So. I feel like an idiot.
The policeman showed up an hour later. No smell. What's a word for an major idiot?
That's what I feel like. I am not crazy, it is a foul smell but it doesnt last a terribly long time.
My landlord went down and checked my neighbor's basement and he said it looked normal.
All I know is that this smell is atrocious when it's there.

This was before the baffoon hit me. The gap on the passenger side of my bumper went from about 1/2 inch to 2-2.5 inches. You can tell on the drivers side that the bumper was pushed up and toward the car more. As long as I've seen this car it's had a bit of a crooked lip.

Mel be glad it's not me. Woke up early this morning to help Brandon with the dogs. Was sitting at the kitchen table and fell asleep. Woke up 20 minutes before I needed to clock in at work. It takes 20 minutes to get there and I was still in my jammies. Got there and was roasting all morning. I'm usually the girl in the long sleeves when everyone else is in shorts and tank tops. I got sent to the doctor from work and am now home. Another round of antibiotics [these i'm not allergic to!] and steroids. Fever of 101. Hooray sinus infections....or NOT!

I've read said discussion...I think my feelings have been posted by others. I don't see the concept of time being in existance at all. I believe- strictly off the cuff with no great studying- that it will never enter our minds to be bored. God will be all we need to keep us content. But- I wouldn't complain if he had a few golden gravel roads, some bluegrass, an old truck like rusty, and a fishin' pole for me to use in that Crystal River along with a few fishin' buddys. :biglaugh:

Not one of my better days....the weather is overcast. I got started on my lawn, got to the end of my first pass, turned the steering wheel- what tha? We no turn. Gear on the bottom of the steering shaft stripped out. No notice at all. Now I've gotta wait until Monday to get the part, spend $60 I don't have on that piece of junk. I will never buy another John Deere. It's a worse money pit than the darned corvette is, which is saying something. :pound: :pound:

It's hot and humid here today.
It's cool as a cuke here. Sitting in front of the air conditioner. I'm busying myself setting up a new laptop for the church sound booth, one that is better than what I currently have there. Got a friend in Kentucky who needs the lesser one that is currently in the sound booth, so that solves that too. :cool:
Work went by fast [Thank ya Jesus!]. Outreach went ok. The weather and quite a few other local events kept the numbers small but still a good time. Now I'm home making white chicken chili and getting ready to whip up a cake. Laundry will be started soon.
You ever have those days where you just really appreciate all that God has done for you? I mean there is not really anything HUGE going on in my life but I just feel very thankful for all that God has done for me. :cool:

Donuts were a success...we had enough Youth to make up four teams today! Usually we only have two, sometimes three...so it went by fast. Sold them all, then got lunch and had a Youth staff meeting. We were done by 2pm with everything, and I am resting in my bed. It's HOT outside. Just plain HOT!
Gonna try to relax for the rest of the day...I have nothing else planned. :sleep:
BTW...I tormented Roscoe with the car show too. Dad is there now...he went with someone else, so I'm not stuck out there with him in the heat. Thank ya lord!
There is a car show in town here and another at a little church a few miles down the road. The church one is the one we usually cook for.

It's been a lovely day. An amazing 85* with a breeze. Got up early and made breakfast, went and cleaned the church and then helped a friend spring clean their over grown 3 acres. Then a birthday party and then some groceries at the ol' Wallyworld.
Now I'm tired and ready for bed. Nathan is studying for his first adult SS lesson.
I had a productive day as well. Just made some meat sauce for tomorrow, I'll drop it in the crock pot and turn it on in the morning to simmer while we are at church. I did laundry. All my church clothes are clean now.
I can sleep easy knowing that I acomplished much today, and that I am assured tomorrow we will have a great service cause Ann will be back, and she was nearly dead TWICE and God worked a miracle! So we will all rejoice!

Wednesday night we ended up in a pretty powerful altar service and discussing the power and anointing in prayer clothes. A few months ago Brandon was questioning and even sometimes getting a bit giddy about church. Around a month ago his entire attitude changed. Wednesday night I asked for a prayer cloth and put it in his wallet. He asked me why and I just said because I want him to have it. His attitude has changed quite a bit I'm glad to say. He's even up cooking us breakfast before we go to church. His attitude about a few different things has changed.

I'll pass on the bacon, but save some of the grease. I have been told the reason my cat is so thin is because she eats lizards, but that feeding her bacon grease will counteract whatever is in lizards that makes her so gaunt. Guess it's worth a shot.
Awesome church service this morning. 2 more baptized in Jesus Name. Didn't necessarily have a 'Pentecost Sunday' service. As Bro Ketron put it we should have Pentecost everyday! Great message about being good ground and that the roots of the righteous should run deep.
Brandon's car is tore up. Again. I'm really believing we can find another car for us. His poor Prelude only has 350,xxx miles on it and been demolished at least twice that I know of. Now we've replace just about everything in the suspension and brakes in the past 3 months and now his brakes are out again. Shew.
Gonna start getting things together for a yard sale at the church that'll go toward Youth Congress. I'm getting pumped! Plus I was told today I'm gonna get to drive the van. Woot!

God is good all the time. Nathan is expanding his job search beyond the KC area. We'll see what God will do. We don't want to leave our church for anything... unless it's really God's will. He even is looking into a job someone mentioned last month in OKC.

Ok here so far. They are west (okc) and north (north of tulsa) of me.
That was a massive tornado. 3rd graders are being pulled out of an elementary school that was reduced to rubble, right now.
That is terrible.
All kids are accounted for according to the news. Moore got pounded.
That was one thing that worried me when I worked at the school, being responsible for all those kids.

Been crate training the girls [dogs] if anyone remembers my rants about Brandon's dog just using the bathroom in the house. She seriously gets a gold star. Funniest thing is she will only poo for me. lol.

Man, our earlier report was wrong. They are saying 37 people (including 24 kids at the school) were killed. Also saying it was the largest tornado in recorded history. Jesus help us.
I wondered... I heard the news say the schools do not have shelters ansd the children were told to go to the halls and hug the walls as tight as they could. Except after the tornado went through, there were no walls. My heart breaks.
I think now 91 dead, including children, is a soon-to-be-reached number. I actually expect it will go higher than that. I'm all right in my nook of the state.
How do you have a school in OK WITHOUT sufficient tornado shelter? Just something I was thinking of last night.

We've got some wind and storms today. I fought my way into work- wind was blowing me every way except the way I wanted, and it is coming a flood now.
Oklahoman buildings do not have basements. The red clay ground makes it a huge expensive feat. Most houses do not have basemeents either. There are cellar type storm shelters a person can have put in but it's expensive.

My heart is heavy today. Even though I live here in Oklahoma, I cant imagine losing everything. How many people went home to nothing? How many more barely survived?
And the parents who lost little ones break my heart.
As I type this, the news just reported that the casualites went from 51 to 24. Unfortunately, this number is still expected to rise.The first thing I would remind everyone is that there is PLENTY of miscommunication. Everyone wants to hope for the best (as I reported a few posts ago), while we expect the worst.
Next, there is plenty of glurge (overly sweet stories of heroism that have no base). The heros will show as teachers, parents, emergency personel, and every day joes who just rose to the call of a emergency.
Third, there is plenty of horrified people here. Horrified people who have lost everything. And their friends dont help when they question decisions and spread miscommunication.

Funding. Our newer schools do have storm shelters. In our community, we use this as a community safe room now. Anytime we have bad weather, we open it up for anyone. As schools are updated, safe rooms are probably a requirement. Older schools unfortunately have not done that yet.

Cellars (fraidy holes...I heard Travis Myer, news on 6, say this yesterday. I'm glad I am not the only one that calls them that) are as common here as swimming pools are in California. Basements however are not. More than the red clay, basements seem to be more of a northern thing. We just dont need them as much as other parts of the country do. I always looked at them as a cold weather thing. Also, would you want to be in a basement and have a house fall on top of you? Cellars are usually free standing or built into the house but protected from the structure of the house.

I agree with mini....basements are more of a northern thing although we have them. You dont wanna use one as a storm shelter as most of them here have just the floor joists of the house for a roof. In a storm the house either falls on you or you get sucked out...
Schools here are like germ said too...our older schools dont have shelters but the newer ones do. unfortunantly it seems the limited money we spend on the school system goes to other areas and storm shelters are low on the list until an emergency happens...

We get a couple rounds a year but tornados are usually not as common as in the plains. Whe we do have one it is usually a small one- which is no consolation if it is your house that is hit. lol

I get a phone call asking for information that is located 40 feet away from the person calling, in the same building. Instead of walking over there, asking for the information, having a pleasant conversation with the party involved, they call me, ask me to send it all to them. I am 5 miles from them. LOL
I say no, I will not copy it all, because the secretary has it. This lead to a 15 minute conversation because this person did not want to walk over there, but wanted me to email all this information to her.

Edit 1: I call the secretary, and ask if indeed she has all info. Secretary blows up. Im mad cause employee was lazy. Secretary is mad on a whole other level, and threatens to talk to big boss.
After phone call, I remember employee said that they needed info for auditors. I call secretary and tell her that. Secretary turns from small blond lady into incredible hulk and flips her lid.
Apparently secretary and employee has been fighting. And it went overboard crazy when I called.
I then call my immediate boss, who secretary works for and say "Um...I unintentionally caused a fight." My boss listens, and says "I think im staying out of this one."
Secretary is currently in big bosses office planning homicide.

And morning all. We made it through the storms without any problems- in fact the last wind storm kinda helped me. One of my ham antenna masts was slightly bent, and I've been meaning to take it down and straighten it..well, the wind storm straightened it for me. I had to break bad news to Roscoe today. I have freinds weirder than him. So weird in fact that it makes him look downright normal.
We lost electricity and internet last night. The electricity came back on about bed time but the internet is still out.
Then you must be stealing company internet, you mooch.
Almost all of my work is done on the internet. Glad they made these tabbed browsers, makes it easy to jump from page to page when waiting on something to process.

This is my car as well. If you use the key-less entry, and click the lock one too many times it auto-starts.
Sometimes if the passenger door opens before my driver side, the alarm (of which Daddy unplugged the fuse) goes off. Or beeps happen.

Wheeeee-oooo! I made some chocolate pudding yesterday with table cream instead of milk, and I think I put too much chocolate in it. I only had a small bowl, but I was flying on a caffeine high for what seemed forever. Anybody not had your coffee yet, come on over and have a bowl of chocolate pudding instead.

I don't want to be that kind of neighbor or person who calls the police everytime they don't turn their music down. Neither Nathan nor I have gone to college yet to better ourselves and we've chosen to homeschool rather than me work a full time job.

No, Isaac. It's a nice neighborhood, mostly nice sized well kept homes. There's townhomes, which is what we live in. Everyone else seems really nice but we are the newest people in he neighborhood.

Most modern operating systems have a speech-to-text system already installed. I know Win7 does. You could also install Google voice, which ships your audio off to Google servers to do the heavy lifting of voice translation. I use Google voice a lot to talk-type on my android phone, and it's usually fairly accurate.

Went last night and drove a bazillion miles with Kim to look at a truck on Craigslist that had 84k miles. (Her beloved S10 decided it no longer wanted to play, at ONLY 300k miles). When we got there, we found that the truck apparently had been driven by a major league baseball player who used it for batting practice. There wasn't a straight panel on it. So- we didn't buy it. I DID enjoy a nice visit with my sister though.
Now we are off to spend the day locating her a ride. Y'all can say a prayer that we find the perfect vehicle for her. It would be appreciated.

One thing really gets on my nerves is all the bloatware computer manufacturers seem to feel is absolutely necessary to install on a new computer. Trial offer for Norton or McAfee antivirus, MS Office, NetZero... Listen, I PAID for this computer. I didn't get any money for these trial advertisements. If they are getting paid by the software companies who's trial offers they put on their computers, why is the price of my computer not lower? I should be getting a rebate to reimburse me for all the time I have to spend uninstalling junk I'll never use, that is slowing down my computer.
Oh, and if you ever have to reinstall the whole OS, all the bloatware comes right back! Yay!
Removing all the bloatware is almost as much trouble as installing the OS from an OEM disk, then hunting up drivers online and installing them manually. Almost.
I don't think I'd classify as a nerd, but I agree. They used to put AOL on everything and it would replicate in multiple places, it was hard to get rid of totally.
Using "replicate" in a sentence qualifies you as a nerd. Odd though... you seemed normal enough when I met you.
Trust me I wanted to... but after he told me what he'd been through this past week I didn't have the heart to ask. :lol: He'd driven the truck to Little Rock, almost two hours from him, to trade for a Ford Bronco. When he took the Bronco around the block for a test drive, the guy he was planning on trading with drove off in his truck- and didn't come back. :o Turned out the Bronco wasn't the property of the guy wanting to trade. The cops found the boy's truck another hour past me... :laughhard:
All's good though. We found a one owner 2002 Buick Century with just over 100k miles, immaculate, on a lot in a neighbouring town. I let my inner Jewish heritage out to play, and bargained them down a cool grand from their asking price. Kim now has a beautiful, comfortable "Grandma's car", as Lou calls it, and I am fighting the sin of envy. I'd love to have that for my daily trip to Little Rock. It's Muy comfortable... :thumbsup2:

Hello all! I see Bobby has let everyone know about our little escapades for the last couple of days....Just for the record I want the world to know that I have the most wonderful little brother ever! I honestly don't know sometimes what I would do without him. But now he has another problem on his hands, because now when I need the lawnmower, he has to bring it to me because I no longer have a truck to pull the trailor. If anybody ever needs a good deal on a car though, just take him with you and let him do the talking. It has worked perfectly for me on the last two vehicles I have had to buy!!! Good service this morning. Went by to see my parents after church. Of course that meant sitting in a room with them while they watched TV. At least I got to watch the season finale of Criminal Minds.
Last night after we got back from the gym, B came in the room kinda giddy saying that our friend Jon had text him inviting us to a bonfire/cookout at his house this evening. I just think it's awesome that Jon text/asked Brandon about it. See I've been friends with Jon for 13 years now. He's the youth and praise leader at our church. But him and Brandon have been talking more lately and as soon as we find some time Jon wants to do a bible study/hang time with Brandon. And other than me, family, and a few guys he works with Brandon is a loner. So it means alot to me that someone from the church is making the effort to reach out and befriend him. Alot of the time people just invite me and Brandon can tagalong type deal.
Well there's free software and then there's "free" software. Much that is "free" is not really free, that's just the hook. Especially if you try to google up a "free" antivirus... ooooooooooh boy!

We have a cat here at work. She is a large black cat, and everyone seems to love her.
Everyone but the family of mocking birds that live here.
I usually open the doors and let the cat wander in and out during the day. And this gives the mocking birds no end of displeasure.
Sometimes, I will fuss at the mocking birds, and have gotten within a few feet of them before they flew off.
Today, I hear one hollering outside, and it seems to suddenly get louder. The stupid thing flew in my office area, and was telling me all about everything. I bet it will be back.

Really, I want to have some serious conversations. I enjoy fun and silliness but I long for some good old fashion meaningful conversations.
Kids are mostly out of school but Andrew is taking PE summer school to get a head start on his high school credits. It's actually perfect cause he didn't have much to do this summer and now he's up at 6am and doing push ups at the school by 7. Lol this boy is growing like crazy. I cannot process that my my mumchkin has hairy legs! He HAS to shave his face soon too. Nathan took him out for his first driving lesson last week. Andrew was so excited he could barely sleep that night.

And I havent officially announced this yet, or at least I don't think I have, but this Wednesday I'm headed to Florida to stay with my brother and his family for 12 days. It was just supposed to be 9 days, but he wants me to come on Wednesday now instead of Saturday. So it added a few days. :)
I'm excited. But kinda apprehensive too, dad will be having more surgery while I'm away. I feel good about the surgery, that it's the right thing to do, but I kinda wanted to be here for it, ya know? They are cutting off a bit more of his leg.

:hi: Lord. What a day, already. I woke up a bit late and had to rush...then I get to my favorite convience store and discover they are out of big cups for my Dr Pepper. I fight traffic all the way to work to discover that I left my name badge/key card AND my keys in my other uniform pocket. And the pants that I am wearing are an older pair that I didn't notice in my rush, and as is typical with the material we use for uniforms, has faded, and is a different shade of blue than the shirt. Bah. Can I get a do-over, please? :biglaugh:
And in other news, I puttered in to church last night secure in the knowledge that I was not going to be needed, so I just grabbed a pull over shirt to replace the uniform and went in- no need in going all the way home and dressing up to just be in the audience. Bro Wilson comes up and informs me that 1)Sunday School teacher hadn't showed up and 2) his substitue hadn't either and 3) it was all me. :o I had the pleasure of teaching for an hour on a subject that I had not even looked at five minutes' prior....and it was on Hosea, who I have never really cared for. Thank God HE came through and helped me muddle through. Bro Wilson told me later that he'd not been able to stand it if I'd studied it, given the way it played out with little notice, so I guess it went okay. :smirk2:

Personal observation about personal computers: Some of them are like the description I saw for a car. "It'll get you there safely, comfortably and eventually."
My Macbook gets me there quick, efficient and with no "tune engine" lights.
With a Mac you CAN'T tune the engine. All the controls are safely hidden away from the user so he won't mess anything up. :biglaugh:
Man, ya'll got quiet. I came home and mowed the yard even though I really wanted to go check out the Power Tour which was in Little Rock tonight. I was really concerned that if I didn't get it mowed it would rain again and I'd REALLY be behind..
I don't know why it took me so long to get back..I was gone a few days got back last week, then it seems like last week was a blur of weather coverage. I know I've missed a bunch!

I can testify to that! I had two jobs for a time, and between them I went a good month without a day off. It just does something to you when you don't have a whole day where you don't have to go to work.
The trends of bend thread is locked so I'll post this here and hope SippinTea sees it. SippinTea, are you currently terribly busy, or could you undertake a project? I want you to take a pocket t-shirt, something of good sturdy material preferably, and put a second pocket on the top of the shoulder, on the underside of the shirt. It would be good if the pocket could have an elastic lip, if that can be done without irritating the skin the pocket is going to be sitting against.
Don't laugh! It's the most convenient place to put my phone when I'm listening to music via earbuds. I already put my phone on my shoulder, under the collar of my shirt, and I don't have to hassle with the earbud cord trailing down to my pants pocket and getting tangled in stuff. But I'd like a shirt with a pocket there, because sometimes my phone slips off my shoulder. And while they do make armbands with pockets for you to put an mp3 player or something, they never have made a neck-pocket like that.
And I want about ten of those shirts. Preferably in a light grey. If you're too busy there's another friend I can probably get to do something crazy, but I thought I'd ask you first. If you have time to take on a project I'll send you a PM with more specific details.

Isaac, I wish I could, but my sewing machine is currently balking terribly at anything on knit fabric. It desperately needs to be serviced, and I haven't been able to do that yet. Sooo... Got to my brothers house in Florida after 10pm last night. This morning, my bro and Sil are at work and I'm here with the kids. I've made the kids clean their rooms, we've taken out all the trash, I've cleaned the kitchen and living room and I have the dishwasher going. Currently, Emily is playing quietly in her room, Jeremy is on the computer, and I'm on the other couch chilling with their sweet dog, Speckles. I really like this dog.
He likes you because you'll pet him. Everyone else is too busy playing or on the computer. Poor dog never gets any attention, or that's how he sees it.

That dog gets PLENTY of attention. She likes me cause I'm calm and will pet her nicely and not harrass her. The kids are kinda loud and hyper when they try to play with her.
I took a picture of her, I'll post soon. She reminds me of Seth's dog. She is a beagle and pug mix, and about two years old I think. So well mannered and sweet.

Normally I hate small dogs, but she isn't a yippy little small ankle biter dog that's all scared and nervous all the time. She is solid, medium sized, and so far, I have not heard her bark at anything. She doesn't scare easily, and she is well mannered and a cuddle bug.

Drove Sam to work today. He was mad at me. Its been a couple weeks since I drove him, and he let me know all about it. He backfired once so loudly that Chelleebelle (who was following me) thought she had been shot....LOL

Until now I have been running on a GoPhone sim card for phone service ($100 a year for 1000 minutes - should do me fine, I don't talk a lot on the phone) and using an AT&T internet account at $50 a month, that my phone can connect to. I got tired of having to keep two devices charged and on me, but all the major carriers' plans for phone/internet are very expensive. $110 a month?! You're kidding, right?
So I did an extensive search and right now I'm testing Red Pocket Mobile. It's an AT&T MVNO (they lease AT&T service and then sell it to their customers... they're a middleman) but the prices are far less than AT&T ever did. So far, so good. Unlimited talk/text and 2 gigs internet for $60 a month, and right now it's working just fine on my Xperia Mini smartphone. If it keeps working well I'll get Grandma an account for $30 a month unlimited talk.
And no they did not pay me to make this post. Just wanted to share. :D
Dad has RedPocket, he has unlimited talk and text on his dumb phone (not a smart one) for $40 a month. Mine is Americian mobile prepaid with my iPhone and it's unlimited talk, text and Internet for $50 a month.

Fell down the concrete steps at work yesterday. Very lucky I landed on my hip/thigh and elbow. If I'd landed on my bum and wrist I would have broken one or both. My elbow is still pretty swollen and I have a beast of a strawberry/bruise high on my thigh. Ice packs and ibuprofen are my current best friends.
Housesitting for a Dr from work. No snake sitings. [THANK YA JESUS!!!] Hanging out with her standard poodle. They are sooo much better than miniature poodles. Ankle biters.....
Mom and dad are currently looking to purchase a house. Preferably one with some sort of apartment. They want to rent it to me [and Brandon] so we can get out of our weird housing and it'll help make the house payment. Since B's mom lost her job his dad has begged her to move out there with us. That would add 1 adult, 2 seven years old boys, 3 large dogs, 1 small dog, 2 lizards, and 1 bearded dragon to our house. Plus we don't get along that great. We get along best when we're not around each other.
Also I have been bumped from my time off in August and now will not be able to go to NAYC. Although approved and double checked with my boss before making my registration, he has granted 2 other people time off that asked AFTER me. :roll: I'm bummed, but what can you do?
Oh and ETSU has informed me that I am an unsatisfactory candidate for financial aide. So all my plans are falling apart.....poop!

Had dinner with she and her young children (yes, the Grumpyest of the Grumpye,) We were talking on the phone, texting and messaging. I fell out of touch for a few days (less than a week,) then see her on Facebook with her new name.
Her newly MARRIED name.
I congratulated them and wished them well
And today I've actually Shared, some. :)

I love my niece, but I am SO THANKFUL that it is her that went to camp and I'm babysitting Jeremy. Every morning since I got here, before daylight, Emily is wide awake and bouncing off the walls! She would climb all over me while I was still in the bed, talk talk TALK non stop, be loud and asks a million questions while I'm trying to get my bearings and wake up.
Jeremy on the other hand was awake for at least an hour and a half before I even knew it this morning. I went to take him his medicine at 7, to his parents bedroom cause that's where he slept last night, and he wasn't there. I went to his room, and he was snuggled in on his top bunk, watching a Disney movie. QUIET.
Emily would have not only woke up the whole house being loud and wild, but she would have likely gotten into a bunch of stuff she shouldnt have if no one was up to supervise.
So I'm a bit thankful that I have just Jeremy this week. :great:

I then brought it home and mowed the yard, being as how Uncle Ron AND a certain wingnut from an adjoining state is wandering over to the car show...:clap: Don't want it to look TOO bad...
Got a welcome package in the mail and am scanning the contents of music to see what I like, before I give it to Lou who will doubtless find the one thing I hate, decide it is her favorite, and drive me nutty (er) with it....
Tomorrow is Bill Pay day, then set the 'vette up with a for sale sign, then wander by the car show which will be setting up..... Lord, I love this. Wish every week was carshow week and I could get paid to stay there....
Wish I could be there instead. Oh well, maybe some day. In the meantime, when are you coming over here?

Morning, all. It's the day I'm waiting on....Uncle Ron's coming in. :clap: And I'm gonna have to start getting up early in the morning on my day off. I turned on the ham radio this morning and heard a guy in Central Japan sounding like he was at my house. :o A few clicks of the dial, and I was talking to Italy. Amazing to hear so many countries this early. It is way to cool to have a conversation with folks from Japan, Florida, California, and Italy all at the same time. :thumbsup2:
