Exodus 12:21-30King James Version (KJV)

21 Then Moses called for all the elders of Israel, and said unto them, Draw out and take you a lamb according to your families, and kill the passover.

22 And ye shall take a bunch of hyssop, and dip it in the blood that is in the bason, and strike the lintel and the two side posts with the blood that is in the bason; and none of you shall go out at the door of his house until the morning.

23 For the Lord will pass through to smite the Egyptians; and when he seeth the blood upon the lintel, and on the two side posts, the Lord will pass over the door, and will not suffer the destroyer to come in unto your houses to smite you.

24 And ye shall observe this thing for an ordinance to thee and to thy sons for ever.

25 And it shall come to pass, when ye be come to the land which the Lord will give you, according as he hath promised, that ye shall keep this service.

26 And it shall come to pass, when your children shall say unto you, What mean ye by this service?

27 That ye shall say, It is the sacrifice of the Lord's passover, who passed over the houses of the children of Israel in Egypt, when he smote the Egyptians, and delivered our houses. And the people bowed the head and worshipped.

28 And the children of Israel went away, and did as the Lord had commanded Moses and Aaron, so did they.

29 And it came to pass, that at midnight the Lord smote all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, from the firstborn of Pharaoh that sat on his throne unto the firstborn of the captive that was in the dungeon; and all the firstborn of cattle.

30 And Pharaoh rose up in the night, he, and all his servants, and all the Egyptians; and there was a great cry in Egypt; for there was not a house where there was not one dead.

Exodus 12:21-30Revised Standard Version (RSV)

21 Then Moses called all the elders of Israel, and said to them, "Select lambs for yourselves according to your families, and kill the passover lamb.  22 Take a bunch of hyssop and dip it in the blood which is in the basin, and touch the lintel and the two doorposts with the blood which is in the basin; and none of you shall go out of the door of his house until the morning.  23 For the Lord will pass through to slay the Egyptians; and when he sees the blood on the lintel and on the two doorposts, the Lord will pass over the door, and will not allow the destroyer to enter your houses to slay you.  24 You shall observe this rite as an ordinance for you and for your sons for ever.  25 And when you come to the land which the Lord will give you, as he has promised, you shall keep this service.  26 And when your children say to you, 'What do you mean by this service?'  27 you shall say, 'It is the sacrifice of the Lord's passover, for he passed over the houses of the people of Israel in Egypt, when he slew the Egyptians but spared our houses.'" And the people bowed their heads and worshiped.

28 Then the people of Israel went and did so; as the Lord had commanded Moses and Aaron, so they did.

The Tenth Plague: Death of the Firstborn

29 At midnight the Lord smote all the first-born in the land of Egypt, from the first-born of Pharaoh who sat on his throne to the first-born of the captive who was in the dungeon, and all the first-born of the cattle.  30 And Pharaoh rose up in the night, he, and all his servants, and all the Egyptians; and there was a great cry in Egypt, for there was not a house where one was not dead.

These are my thoughts, please share yours.

21 We need to know who to go with information. When we hear a message from God often times we need to go. They picked there Passover lamb but I am so glad God hand pick us our final Passover Lamb, Jesus Christ.

22 Our sins need to be covered by the blood of Christ. We need to have blood to cover our sins this was only temporary but the blood of Christ covers sins from now on and is permanent. We our sins are covered by the blood we can not walk outside God's grace into sin again, this did not mean we will fall but means if we have the blood He will draw us back.

23 If God does not see the blood than we will be condemned. When God sees our sins covered by the blood death will pass over us and we will go from this life to the next life and not truly taste a death. To die just too live is not truly death, it is simply shedding the physical but never shredding the spiritually.

24 We need to obey the instructions of God; the greatest thing is to listen to the news about our need for Jesus. Without having Him obeying anything else means nothing.

25 Where are also promised a land when we come to faith thru Jesus, a land that never passes away, the land where He will reign, paradise.

26 People may ask what Jesus means to us, we will always have an answer if we have Him; the answer may not always be the same though.

27 Passover is the longest running Jewish celebration today. The first started celebrating Passover even before they had any scriptures; the feast of unleven bread is part of
Passover. When we remember God's word and what He has done for us, we should always result in worship.

28 If we have faith but never act our faith is meaningless, their faith was followed by action ours should be as well.

29 The first born was very important at this time. The first born was the leader of the family the head of the family. As in regards to the animals the first was often the best and the biggest.

30 Pharaoh in Egypt was seen as a god and so was his first born, so the finally plague brought down Pharaoh. Each house would have had a first born if a house had more than one generation in it which was popular at that time more than one death to a house could have happened.
The Lord made a Way.
